CSP in the electronics section handles phone providers. I was very surprised and happy that I was able to buy a Verizon phone with NO 2 or 3 year contract. I didn't want to go in debt for a new phone. I'm really happy I went here. I will never go back to T-Mobile (inept, untrained teenagers) or AT&T especially (too high & the girl avoided telling me the overall price). Now my new phone is paid for and I only get a monthly bill just like I wanted. I think very few people know about this. I'm happy with my new phone and recommend it. I just had to write another Yelp review for Miss Melinda in fitting rooms today. She went above in beyond to help my friend trying on clothes with fashion tips and how she should accessorize with outfits. She was so sweet, helpful. I even noticed she helped a woman who was sitting on floor and assisting her. She opened a fitting room for her to sit on a bench and not the floor. The Customer service at this Walmart has went way down hill, The Employees who hang out around the self checkout act like they are Hired Guns, Walmart Cops, We found a fan priced at $28,44, When we scanned it it rang up at like $56.88. So we called the helper over who was the Oldest Man I had ever seen in Walmart & He was not even a greeter, He was a Cashier, He looked about 120 yrs old, He shuffled over & tried to remove the wrong price, He didn't kinow how to work the cash register/Computer, I had to read it to him so he could follow the instuctions, So I ran back & grabbed one of the fans that had the price tag on it & he said that price was just for that damaged box one, I told him they were all the same price because it said on the bottom of the shelf where all the prices are. He says I wish you had taken a picture of it, I said I'm not running all the way back their again, That's when this Bitch Karen from Customer service show up, I told her it was the right price because it says so at the bottom of the shelf, So We run our card & pay, She had to be right, she was treating us like thieves, she had to run back to the fan section because she didn;t believe me that it had a lower price on the shelf. She comes back & she says yes it did say that price under the fan's , but that was a mistake, & the one with the damaged boxes were not even supossed to be their,in that section, She said I'd have to give mine back & take the other one, I said no, It's my property now & I am not trading, So The Karen slowley sneaks over to my cart, then quicker than a Monkey on a banana she ripped Open the top of the bin I had just purchased & snatched the original out of my bin.!! I said Oh no you don't & I stepped towards her to take it back, she had a smug satisified look on her face & she turned & ran with it back to customer service, We asked for the Manager & she was gone for the Day, a Employee said the Manager's name is Jackie & they didn't have a Manager on duty. So we walk over to Customer service & the Karen is working there, & she said a Manager was on her way, & I asked her if she was trained to just treat Customers like crap & snatch merchandise We paid for out of their carts & she said she was just doing her job, And the original Fan was a few feet away along with other merchandise that had been returned & put in a cart, So she rushes over to the cart & whisks it away way to thje back of the counter so I can't see it & stands guard over it, The pretend Manager show up & my Husband tell her what happened & she says her associate (Karen) didnt do that & She had no idea what happened, so We left with the damaged box fan & went home.(just the box was damaged, not the fan), What a bunch of misfits!!! Went in when they opened at 6 am for an exchange on diapers as i bought the wrong kind. No one at the return counter I asked a staff member who went and asked her manager and she said it's going to be awhile. Meanwhile 10-15 staff members walking around. I miss when customer service was handled by taking care of the customer in front of you first and then going back to other tasks after they were done. If you're okay with cheap things, then this is the place to go. Fast fashion is all they ever have and expensive for that sort of thing. Watch out for the electronics department. They always have some random employee from another company try to scam you into a $600 phone. All the employees, except for one who works the night crew, are rude and follow you around like you're going to steal something just because you have a backpack. Not everyone wants their cheap bags that fall apart within minutes and some of us have to walk to and from Walmart. After all these years and understanding that they have to move things around for seasonal or holiday sales, it does get annoying when trying to find something that's been in one spot for years and can't find it because it's been moved. I shop at Walmart weekly, usually in the mornings around 10:00 a.m. There isn't to much traffic in the store, and plenty of parking at that time. The greeter is usually the same person that is very friendly, and good conversation. I expect to see him when I visit, and I notice when he is gone. The store is easy to shop, I know right where everything is, and I have a route I usually take that gets me through the whole store so I can buy things I don't need, see things I'm saving for, and get most all my sock goods. My only complaint is sometimes they don't have but one aisle open up front, but that doesn't happen to often. The checkers are always friendly and I am always asked how my day is going so far. And we were doing our weekly shopping at Walmart this morning, we were informed of a New Policy. If you choose to bring your own bags, you must bag the groceries yourself. Because of this new annoying policy, I was half an hour longer in the store than any other week. And of course, they only have one checker earlier in the morning and all of the people that didn't bring their bags had to stand and wait in line. 08/20/22 We purchased a multi-pack of pork chops this morning that were spoiled. Walmart's no contact grocery pick-up is very spotty at best. When its good, which is about 60% of the time, its amazing. When its bad, the other 40% of the time, I am left with a car full of ruined groceries. When its bad, I get dented cans, cans bagged with corn chips, leaking fabric stain remover with food items. Also I get a stoned Walmart assistant that cant speak or hear anything because they are so high, and forget to bag items altogether and just put them into my trunk. Aisle after aisle of toys, yet the most popular ones are always empty racks. 700 freakin' models of LCD tvs hanging on their walls, yet only two are available in the back. 20 different pairs of men's sneakers- but nothing in a size 11. Time after time after time after time- this store will prove to you that the top level management is completely useless and has no clue how to stock their store, how to deal with customer problems, can't seem to solve the riddle of mile-long checkout lines, and hire the most backward, inbred, unintelligent employees. I ordered online for delivery. When the delivery didn't show up I called the store as instructed by customer service. I spoke to a very nice woman & the manager overheard & said he would be bring it himself that afternoon. He never showed up, but failed to call & let me know. I went to the store the next morning. As I was walking in the woman called & said they couldn't find my order in the system. So I told her I just walked in. She asked me where I was so she came over where I was & offered to do my shopping for me. Very polite & professional. Worst experience here ever! If I could give 0 stars I would! Couldn't find what we were looking for, asked 3 different employees who said they'd call someone and never did. In the mean time Im standing in the hair care isle and I notice that an employee is watching me. I am wearing my prescription sunglasses because my regular glasses are broke and I needed them to see/drive. So to them I am sure I look suspicious. I go to the cosmetic section where they have a bunch of stuff on clearance. I grab some mascara that was $3 on clearance (there was a bunch) along with other things. I finish my shopping with my children and we head to check out. Throughout the shopping time there is the same employee who just so happens to be following my path... And Of course its busy and of course theres only a few check stands open, meaning the wait was a bit in line. The lady starts scanning our stuff when I noticed that the mascara came up full price. I POLITELY told the lady that it was marked down and for $3. She RUDELY told me that if that was the case then it would have had a sticker on it and came up $3. I told her that there were several hanging up where it said $3 and to have someone look. Normally I wouldnt be this petty and just either purchase it or put it back but the way the lady was being so rude telling me how she worked back there for so many years and that I am lying is why I told her to call a manager. So this big dude comes over and asks what is the matter. After explaining to him, he looks at me and tells me that it should have NEVER HAVE left the cosmetic section unless I took it without them knowing. Thats when shit hit the fan and I freaked the f*** out and told this asshole that the lady from cosmetics put the makeup I was planning on purchasing in a plastic security container that this rude ass cashier is holding so I can purchase it out here and finish my shopping out here. He repeated that none of the make up should have left that area unless I took it without the employee knowing. So I said f*** all this and f*** all of you standing here accusing me of stealing in front of a full line of people. So I left our stuff there and went to customer service to speak to the manager who came over telling me I need to calm down and she would talk to her employees. The hell am I to calm down for when I am being accused of stealing $3 mascara in front of my 3 brown kids, in front of at least a dozen people. I demanded to speak to her boss who conveniently isn't there today. I will complain to the highest person I need to speak to. My experience with this Wal-Mart usually isn't very good. Most of the people working there have no idea where to find something if you ask. Then you get to go on a small scavenger hunt while they look for it just like you have, or try to find someone who might know where it is. There are never enough cashiers. Ever. Also this seems to be the go to place for thieves, so there are just fantastic people to be around here. Not necessarily Wal-mart's fault, but it is the reality. Tried their grocery pick up. Showed up when it was my time and the app wasn't working for me to show I was there. Called the phone number on the sign, nobody answered. Finally flagged someone down who worked there and he said things wouldn't be ready for another hour and to try back (this is already 8PM). Said I would come back the following day. Arrived the following day, app still not working and nobody is answering the phone. Went into the store and spoke to the greeter. After waiting inside the store for another 30 minutes, I finally got the 8 items I had purchased. I could have gotten my items in less trips and in less time if I had simply walked into the store and gotten them myself. Lesson learned, laziness does not pay. There is also a very rude employee in this Walmart who yelled at my elderly father in law and my husband for not wearing masks. They were standing in the doorway and about to put them on, but my father in law has some cognitive deficits, so things take a little longer for him. The Walmart employee was clearly on some sort of power trip and yelled at them all the way across the produce section. We have never shopped at Walmart again and I would prefer to pay more for everything for the rest of my life than to ever darken the doorstep of any Walmart again. When you walk in to Albany's Walmart you will most likely be greeted by an elderly person saying "hello" or "welcome" in a tone that says they wish they were dead. Good luck finding what you want - if they do have it in stock, chances are it isn't where its supposed to be. At times it isn't even on their shelves. Isn't that what stocking is for? None of the workers will say anything to you walking through the store unless you ask, and even then there is a 50/50 chance they will simply say "I don't know" and walk away. I get that working at Walmart sucks, but you are getting paid money, there is no need to be crappy. And if its raining out, watch your step! There are many leaks that they have "fixed" with buckets. If you do find what you want get ready to wait. I have never seen more than 2 check stands open at once, so why are there 20? You can always use the self checkout. You know, when they're working. Oh, and pray to whatever you believe in that you never have to use their restrooms! I went to the Walmart in Albany looking to spend some money on a pre-paid cell phone. When we found electronics I was surprised to see a soft drink refrigerator blocking one side of the main counter which allowed only one way in and out. A home-made sign said that all purchases in the department must be made at the counter. We found the display we were looking for but had a couple of questions Looking around I saw a group of employees chatting at the main counter and no where else in the department. I stood there a while longer looking at the display and make up my mind that if no one asked me if I needed help in the next few seconds of looking perplexed we would leave. That is exactly what we did. None of the employees, or whatever they are euphemistically called, made any attempt to engage us as we passed by the counter where they were chatting, which was the only way out of the department because of how they had the other exit blocked off. Not only was this a terrible experience for us as customers, but it also explained why the department had only one exit in and out. The employees did not care about us or theft prevention either. We went to Fred Meyer next. there we got help, got what we needed and had a pleasant time doing so. with so many options in Albany, there is no need to spend a moment of time or a dime in business at this store. read more

LAZY, LAZY, seriously LAZY 90% of the employees i've encountered are lazy or incapable of doing their jobs. The greeters are the exception and very few cashiers. If you go in there to the customer service area on the right side of the store, don't expect to get in and out quickly or to get what you want done headache free. I went in once and said I wanted a money order, but I wanted to use two cards to pay for it (half on each) The employee charged my one card the entire amount, then had to wait on her supervisor that was socializing with another employee who when she did come over couldn't help at all, I had to answer my own question. The money order was for my rent that was due the next day and they told me they could call the money order company and issue a refund, yea that takes more than ONE day. Seriously making something super easy into something that seems like it's statistics or rocket science. Then another time I called in about a getting a TV and asked if they were in stock, I was told they were on their way to the store, they would have 3 and I asked if it was possible to hold one, the employee said I should call back when they were their the next morning and they could tell me. So I did first thing, they said the truck would be unloaded by a specific time that night, so I called back and a young man answered the phone and told me they had them and he would put one on hold for me since I was coming right in then. Well I went in and the TV he put on hold magically "disappeared", so I asked to talk to his manager, who for some reason was confused by what I was saying, then the man tried to say he didn't tell me that and that he said he thought they had them, but wasn't sure, to which I replied I wouldn't have come in if he didn't tell me they had them because it was a waste of flippin time. Then the manager offered me a slightly bigger TV at the same price which NEVER happened, so she's just as much of a liar. about 6 months later I went in to buy another TV and asked a woman if they had a certain brand she went and said no but that they'd be getting more in that week, so I asked for a different one and she brought it out from the back but I wanted one that had a built in DVD player, after that she started to give me an attitude because she had to go look again since the one she brought out didn't have a DVD player, really? I was being very patient, and said before I asked about the first TV that I was looking for one with a DVD player. So she disappeared into the back for about 25 minutes before returning and ringing up the TV as well as my other stuff even though I wasn't done shopping, which is just rude because she didn't ask. Then I asked for a video game for my husband and she rolled her eyes at me which made me feel like slapping them back into her head, her co worker politely went and got it for me, for her. Then I left the store, It's annoying that you go to a business, especially when you're polite to the employees and they give you attitude for making them do what they're being paid for, their jobs! You shouldn't work in a field like customer service if you can't stand being around customers, I wasn't being rude, or anything like that, which although more understandable, would still be unacceptable to treat customers that way even if you were having a bad day because employees need to lean to leave that at the door or at home and NOT bring it to work. Also the people in the deli and the manager, they're very helpful and nice, and have been every time I've gone in, especially with questions i've had. read more

The prices, selection, and layout are good. But the service is TERRIBLE! Most of the employees don't care if you need help because they're "too busy", and if they do help they act like you're pulling their teeth! A cashier named Theresa charged $40 when I wrote a check for $20! I asked her to refund it and she just shrugged and said "too bad, I can't do anything, have a nice day". I refused to accept this and asked to speak to a manager. I stood waiting for literally 45 minutes when a manager finally came to me and said there was nothing they could do. But it was quiet clean and the two employees i asked for help were very helpful and walked me to where the items I was looking for were. I also had to pick up an online order and the young man there was also nice and didn't make it seem as if I was burdening him to do his job. I like Waltmart, because they have low sale price and we can go in at night in our pajamas and look weird like every one else does!! They have a subway, hair salon, and a nail salon which is very nice but i wish that they had back MC Donald's, like they do in the other walmarts in Salem, the way i can get my $1 ice cream cone. Everything their is good, except their cashiers they always seem to have a lot of people working their, but theirs always 3 or 4 cashiers open and it gets me mad because they see the that lines are so long, and they still don't call for and help and we are the one who have to wait in like for ever. I have been getting rolls of quarters at this store for months. One day I went in for quarters and I was told, "We don't sell quarters any more." Seriously? They offer all these other services, but won't let you get quarters. I offered to make a purchase at the SAME cash register where they used to give quarters out-- if I could get $10 cashback in quarters. Not a chance. They did ask me to please call the 800 number and make my complaint there, because they wished they could help, but after 15 minutes on hold, I hung up. Walmart has become the Marble store for the type of department store that has low prices at the cost of lousy customer service. Now it's really not about the people working there, although I've had my share of bad ones. It's gotten so big that they have taken the human element out of customer service. When the employees are asked a question in most cases they don't know, or they can't do it, because corporate has everything computerized. When they run out of something it's purely a guess as to when that particular thing may show up back at the store. Try to ask someone they have no clue ask for customer service can you order it for me and have it sent to my house? We can't do that sir, well why don't you at least Mark items that are sold out I actually had an employee tell me they can't do that. My reply was I don't know why not, I see a lot of people just standing around. I know we all have bad days, and I really don't blame the employees so much as I do the company itself.
