St. Albert Walmart is a Walmart Supercentre moderate in size. They offer self-scan shopping with a portable scanner as well as online order with curbside pickup. Clothing is a staple here for my little ones - the shoe/clothing guarantee for selected brands has been a great perk when the Velcro strap pulls off of my son's shoe for example. Grow with me socks (that stretch an extra size) are my son's fave and the $4 leggings are a dream for my daughter who seems to think she needs one in every colour. Produce is okay but not my go to. Meat is the same. Toiletries prices are among the lowest here. Kiddo you section is decent but clearance prices are often only 10-20% off. If you go to the Edmonton Stony Plain Walmart you'll find the same toy on clearance for half price. Bakery gives cookies to smiling children. This location has a McDonald's inside and a salon as well. The carts now require a loonie which drives me bonkers but what can you do? Walmart Great Value products are exactly what their namesake claims and will be a staple in my household for years to come. Probably the best thing about Walmart is that it can be a one stop shop - so if carting kids in and out of car seats is a nightmare or winter driving has got you down, at least you can come here and get groceries, toiletries, pet food, household goods, and clothes for your ever growing children done in one stop! And if need be, a coffee for mom and a Happy Meal for the kidlets, too. read more

I have been to my fair share of Walmart's and I have to say, this one is one of the shinest of them all. Walmart is not typically known for going above and beyond, but this location in St. Albert I have consistently been met with a great bunch of people who work there. From the young man at the front greeting you to the individuals assisting in the self serve check outs, the staff are great. It is a huge store and the stock seems to have been consistent through these times. I have also recently tried the curb side pick up and wondered why I never did that before. All of your groceries in your car by a friendly person and you do nothing!? I may be late to the game but sign me up. Overall, this Walmart is a good place with some really good people. read more

Went to buy some Advil and walked around for a little bit, we picked up some cards and decided we didn't want them so we put them down. An employee started to follow us through the store. She then stopped us asking where we put it so we told her and walked to the self checkout. While we were in line she started to run to us and talked to people behind the customer service desk, then the people waiting at the door. I understand the worry of someone stealing but why chase someone through the store. We didn't even have a basket or a bag with us. We weren't in baggie clothing or anything like that. Visited this store tonight at 10:50 to pick up a last minute item after confirming that they close at 11. Arrived to find the entry doors locked. Was able to flag down an employee who rudely said "you have 30 seconds to get in and get out". Ran and got me item and was out by 10:55. Incredibly on my way out I encountered the same employee only to find out he was the store manager. I guess that sums up why people hold this company in such high regards read more

We really like this Walmart in St. Albert as it is a bit bigger and newer. It always is clean and organized. The only complaint I have at this time is that staff is using the family/handicapped bathroom (separate from the main bathrooms). Since I am mobility challenged, this bathroom works the best for me. I understand that maybe there is staff that need to use this bathroom but it seems whenever I go to this Walmart this is what happens. More bathrooms like this are needed then. read more

Oh Wal-Mart. How society loves to hate you. I am not going to talk to the store too much because I think we all know what we are in for when we go here - low prices and relatively lower quality. This one is a super center so there is fresh produce - and I have been quite impressed with the quality of fresh fruit. If you are picking up the grocery basics keep in mind they don't have anything remotely off beat, examples would be no unsweetened coconut, and no apple butter. The overall higher income of St. Albert provides a couple benefits for this Wal Mart location; the young adults that work here are generally friendlier and more helpful as well as the clientele isn't as sketchy as other locations around Edmonton. This also translates to a tidier store, with more items on the shelves and an above average level of cleanliness. I try to support local business as much as I can, however when a Wal Mart trip is needed this is my go to location. read more

I like this Walmart for their great selections. Its shelves are always stocked, well organized and it's a clean place. They have good prices and their employees are really friendly and helpful if you can find one. Sometimes it's hard to find them. They offer lots of services like; grocery, Mr. Lube, McDonald's, portrait studio, pharmacy, regal nails, scan & go, SmartStyle hair salon, photo center, vision center, wireless and western union. I don't like grocery shopping there. I find their price too high and the quality isn't the best, I prefer Superstore. They have a big parking so it's easy to find one. Leaving on the other hand isn't always easy on the Villeneuve road. read more

What a perfect job Walmart St. Albert is doing during this difficult time. I took advantage of arriving at 7:00 a.m. on Fri for seniors. We were met by a very friendly lady who greeted us with a smile. The carts were inside and sanitized plus did not have to use a loonie. At the meat counter a very nice young man helped me chose the right ham. He remembered me from before and knew exactly what I needed. Good on him! When getting to the checkout the spots were marked where to stand and the pleasant clerk sanitized everything, including the belt before she served me. The store was very clean which made it a worry free environment. In all it was a great experience. I would not hesitate to shop there again even though I'm 80. Good job, Walmart. I can't say enough about how pleased I was. Keep up the good work. read more

I was searching for a new treadmill and after much research, decided on one from your store (link below). The reviews were good, the price (on rollback), was excellent and most importantly, your website showed it "IN STOCK" at several of my local box stores (Edmonton). I drive a 1/2 hour to my nearest store and ask for them to find me that treadmill. After 15 minutes a very confused sales associated explains that not only do they NOT have that treadmill in stock, but after digging around in the Walmart joke of a stock system, he has determined that this treadmill was DELISTED as a product MONTHS AGO! Yet, your website shows it as IN STOCK and on ROLLBACK! Thank you very much again for the huge waste of time. I bought a treadmill from a local competitor and had a very pleasant experience there. I agree with Carina, this location is my preferred 'Walmart' when I have to shop at Walmart. It seems to be less sketch, and maybe not as crazy busy as other locations I've been to. I do find that this store still has a lot work to do in keeping products on the shelves. It seems as though any item that's on sale is difficult to find in it's regular home. Most of the inventory has been pulled for an end display or 4-way. They have a fairly good selection of fresh & frozen food. I'm usually found in the freezer section. I can just about always count on them having the lowest price on some of my regular items, but I find the prices can fluctuate greatly. As soon as something is no longer on sale and reverts back to the non 'sale' price, it always feels like it is higher than it was before it went on sale. It can be hit and miss too to find what you need/want, there might be a brand that is widely available everywhere else, but not here. They're just so choosy with their vendors. If I had more funds for personal care items and packaged foods, I'd shop elsewhere. Getting through the checkouts here is a battle at least 75% of the time. read more

I honestly thought I was at the local dump when I walked in. The people who were shopping there all stared at me, and it dealt really awkward. Then people kept asking if I needed assistance and after saying no to 10 different people I just pushed my cart away and left. Judging from reviews of the past...Walmart doesn't give a damn about the customer. Went to Walmart at 127 St. & 167 Ave. in Edmonton. Was sent a Flyer with discounts. Walmart is famous for listing items on sale & NOT having them in stock no matter which Walmart or where. Absolute waste of time. NO staff in several departments & NO Great Value (Walmart brand) products on the shelf. Other brand name products can be sparse. Obviously NO staff to restock shelves. Dealing with management is frustrating & trying to explain the problem with staff who can't speak English is hyper-frustrating. Walmart at 137 Ave. & 40 St. is just as bad. Was told this particular store doesn't sell Great Value products depending what it is. I find it astonishing that a Walmart store does NOT sell their own brand of products. If Walmart Head Office gave a damn about the customer...his valuable time...the expense to get to their store etcetera...they would CHANGE things. But the largest retailer in the world could care less about losing a few customers. Too many others to take their place. I will NEVER waste my time again & will NEVER walk into another Walmart store. Wow ! where do I Start. First off I was shopping for shelving but notice all the torn and broken boxes. I need a few birthday gifts for the kids as I have 4 children and do A lot of shopping. I needed only about 15 items on my list. I got everything and was at the till paying for my Items. My wife just arrived at the store and told me she was waiting at the deli for me . I texted Ill be right there , just got to park my cart. I park the cart by Mcdonalds and proceed towards the Deli. An employee stops me to do a receipt check?? i Tell the employee im not leaving the store for awhile and I'll be back. I meet my wife and we begin loading our second cart. As we go through checkout I proceed to my parked Cart. The employee is standing by it with a rude look and rudly says , receipt please! I pass it to her and should could not even verify the whole 15 Items or read the receipt! I verified it for her since she could not. I begin to leave and she jumps in front of my cart and calls security. Of course security does nothing because I have not done anything except spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Needless to say Walmart has lost around 20k + worth of my yearly spending for my family of 6 since this incident. Very undertrained poorly ran store. read more
