When I came in I headed toward the order pickup section. When I arrived at the "self pickup", nothing made sense. I didn't have anything that corresponded to the number system they had so I didn't know where the heck to pick up my item. Their site didn't indicate they offered curbside pickup (I checked my email just in case I'd misunderstood how I was to pick it up). I called and was on hold about six minutes because no one ever picked up. (There were 20+ people in line and I didn't want to wait around there just to be told to go elsewhere; what's the point of pickup if not to be quick?) Finally I found an associate not behind a cash register and he went to get my order, which was in the back and not at all in correspondence to the system they had out on the floor. I guess maybe they expect people to stand in line? But that doesn't make sense when their pickup system says you should check your email to pick up your item. I don't know.

I was in Chicago for the weekend, and saw there was this Meijer a 35 minute drive away. I knew what I had to do. I took an uber to the promised land, hopeful this would be some Tier 1 bird as it was so highly recommended. I pulled up and saw firetrucks out front with lights on. My internal dialogue began to run: "There's no way... I came all this way just for it to be closed because there's a fire in there?! God making me work for this one..." But then I saw people walking in and out so it was all good. I went and grabbed a $5.99 bird, took it to a business park right down the street, and dug in with my bare hands. I can't even tell you how disappointed I was in this chicken. It landed at a 7.4/10 which currently ranks it 53rd out of 96. People were riding for Meijer like it was gonna be in the 9s. Jonathan was incredibly patient, kind, and truly went out of his way to help us. Even though he only had about 30 minutes left on his shift, he didn't rush us at all. Jonathan and his shift supervisor worked together to make sure everything was handled smoothly, and we literally just left feeling very pleased. It meant even more because my son was celebrating his 13th birthday today, and thanks to Jonathan's excellent customer service, he left as a very happy shopper. Some departments have a huge selection, and others not so much. If there are men's shoes I haven't found them. They also don't carry clothing if you're a big guy. Of course, if you want something trendy they've got it. Service is hit or miss. Luckily, they haven't yet replaced all of their cashiers with self-checkout. Thank you for that, Target. My biggest complaint is that this store is large. Like, I think the groceries are located about five miles away from the front entrance. The pharmacy is two and a half miles. Oh, and my better half just reminded me that the Dramamine is located on a bottom shelf. Dramamine is to help you when you're dizzy.
