Walmart has gone down hill in the past two months! It is virtually impossible for me to place a Walmart + order for from 460 -$150 successfully in less than a week. There customer service phone number does not take calls any more, so there is no way to get to them if youor order is wrong or you can't place an order. A week ago they told me that I I had a $54 order which was never paid nine months ago, yet I have ordered and paid successfully since that time at least once a week! I cannot reach them to straighten this out even though I try multiple times a day and we can't leave messages! I am 80 years old and don't drive, so I have Walmart deliver my food. I came in Wednesday, November 5th evening with my Grandaughter just to get a couple of outfits. This process took about 10 or 15 minutes. We went to try on and all fitting rooms were locked. We walked around and looked for someone to unlock but couldn't find anyone. There is no way to contact anyone to open a door. After approx 20 min I went to the front and addressed 3 people that were standing together talking and ask if they could call someone to open the dressing room because i had been waiting and looking. I was told I could go to customer service and ask them to call. The line was long. It really pissed me off. When we got back someone was in one of the dressing room but the others were still locked and vacant. There was no one to help! No way to try on clothes unless you wait and beg. I felt like I was trully at a self serve store, down to the checkout. Service sucks or more than that there is no service at this location. read more

4 stars because it's Walmart but one employee (Amber) really went above and beyond for me when she carried a large plastic Children's pool from lawn and garden to front checkout since no one was available at the lawn and garden registers. She then carried it to my truck for me! Thank you Amber! Definitely made my Walmart trip so much better. read more

Dear Walmart, My husband and I are senior citizens and are regular customers of yours. We had always enjoyed your Italian loaf bread baked in store when it was $1.00 a loaf. When the price jumped to $1.47 a loaf we still bought it. Over the past few months, every loaf we have bought has a massive hole in the middle ! I mean taking up 1/3 of the slice. This makes the value less than the $1.00 we used to pay, much less being able to make a sandwich, Please take note of this as any skilled baker will tell you, this problem will occur if not kneading the dough enough or correctly. I hope you will address this even though it seems a small problem to you, we can't keep buying this bread only to feed it to the birds. read more

Mainly one employee. I believe his name was Anthony (after asking other employees) but he had long dreads. There was a very loud altercation going on and I have severe anxiety. I felt a panic attack coming on and he was extremely helpful. After I felt some of the pressure lifted and went to go check out, he even offered to help me and walk me to my car. He stayed with me until I felt I was okay and walked me through what to do to help calm my panic attack. I am extremely thankful that this employee was there at the time. read more

Walmarts all seem understaffed. This one is no exception, but the ragtag crew of employees are endearing and do seem to care about their jobs and being decent, friendly humans. I like this store overall. I read other reviews, but I think most of the people complaining should take a look in the mirror. read more

This review is for the Auto Service Center. I needed to get an oil change and their premium quoted price for synthetic is $50 bucks. I called for an appointment on Friday morning and was told it was first come. She said the wait would be about an hour. It was more like a 2 hour wait. It took an hour for the tech to get my vehicle into the bay and then another hour for him to change the oil. It's clear their techs have no incentive to move as this guy was slow as molasses and was continually looking at his cell phone and talking to his buddies. I always use Walmart pick up to pick up my groceries or I have it delivered. I've done this numerous times and enjoy it because I have kids. But today made me question whether I should go to a different grocery store. I sit for 40 minutes as the young gentleman Checked me in supposed to pick up groceries from 9 to 10 got there at 9:15. At 10:15 I was wondering why all the people that showed up after me had gotten the groceries and left and I was still sitting there. Spencer, the gentleman that worked told me that they did not check me in, so I waited for 40 minutes for nothing. When I say I am livid is an understatement. Went to the pharmacy at Sheila lane in south Richmond, VA. The pharmacist refused to give me a courtesy temporary few pills until I saw my new physician in six days. I needed the diclofenac because I have stage four arthritis in my knees and cannot walk without pain if I don't take it twice daily. The pharmacist, named Michelle, said it was not a maintenance drug, but she knew nothing of my medical conditions, and even if she did, she is not a physician. Practicing medicine without a license is not good. She did give me a courtesy three pills of Losartan, but I needed six until my doctor's appointment. Why give just three when six are needed? She was unaccommodating and rude. When I dropped by again after some quick shopping, I asked for the pharmacist's name, but only got the first name. I was told I didn't need the last name, But they ask for mine when I go there. I made my anger known. Then as I was leaving Michelle came out of the enclosure and confronted me and got in my face and said I can't say anything like what I said. I instructed her to get out of my face and go away. After three such statements, she realized I meant to get out of my face. Don't go to this Walmart. The lines are very slow and the service is terrible. The people are rude, fat, and disagreeable. Other than that the store is dirty and unfriendly. Makes for a great shopping experience. read more

Yes it smells like a litter box and dirty clothes from time to time but its walmart. One of the not so great walmarts lol. But this is the closest location to my job so I come here quite often. The pharmacy use to be the worst but the speed of the service has gotten better over the past month. I guess thats due to the surveys that were on the bottom of the receipt the casher pointed out to me :). Other than that they always have great prices and its a one stop shop. read more

I'm sad to report that the conditions here haven't gotten any better since last month. Every time I come here it's a complete mess. I actually left a cart full of stuff in line once because I didn't have the patience to wait while 3 cashiers checked out 40 customers. With that said, I am glad to say that I have decided to give them an extra star for the great customer service I received today from their Assistant Manager. I had a few things to return/exchange (including a Christmas gift that I didn't have a receipt for) and he quickly helped me and handled everything to my satisfaction. Walmart Optical: I would like to think that I am a very patient and understanding consumer, but I have had nothing but a terrible experience with this location. My first encounter was calling to see if I should make an appointment or if a walk-in was easy. The person I spoke to on the phone told me, "just come in... I am too busy to answer any more questions" - then hung up. My next frustration came when the hours that are stated on the website are not necessarily the hours that anyone will actually be working. Online this location is listed as being open Sunday from 9 AM until 5 PM, when I arrived at 10 AM no one was there - it was locked up and lights off. I was told that they do not open until 12 PM by the greeter, then was told by another associate they are closed on Sunday's.I didn't have time to see when/if they opened on Sunday, so decided to go back. I went back today Tuesday, July 1, 2014, and the hours were to be 9 AM, I waited until 9:45 AM and left when no one was there. The location was completely dark and there were no signs of anyone who may have been late or may have been working in the backstock area. When I asked the greeter at the door of Walmart he simply said, "they open at 9 AM." - Well clearly they do not open at 9 AM since it was 9:45 AM and the place was closed. I will never go back. After reading many reviews here on yelp and also on Google, it seems pretty clear that this is not a well ran location or somewhere where I want to spend my money. read more

Ok, you can't tell anyone but I've been to this Walmart twice in the past week and actually walked out satisfied. I say that not to be snooty but because I typically don't find what I'm looking for at Walmart so I prefer other stores. Either their service is terrible or they don't have the item(s) I'm looking for. This time, I got both in a good way and at good prices. My only constant headache is the checkout process. They either don't have enough registers open or the few they have open are all on one end of the store so I have to cross the store then cross back to get to where I parked. That wouldn't be so bad if the stores weren't 2 miles wide. Oh, and why don't they always keep the self-checkout open??? It seems this would be a better solution for late night checkouts when it's more expensive for them to keep extra checkers there. I've never run a Walmart so am totally speaking on a hunch, but it seems like it would be easier for us customers who prefer shopping later at night to beat the crowds. Who's with me?? read more

It doesn't matter what time you go to this Walmart, you will have to wait in line for at least 5 minutes. There are over 20 registers but not even half are open during its busiest time. Some of the cashiers there will talk and lollygag with other cashiers while customers are waiting to check out. I commend this Walmart for renovating their store to look more modern and up to date with other Walmarts in the Richmond area, but the employees need to be trained on customer service and product knowledge. About 2 months ago, I attempted to get some chicken from the Walmart Deli in this store. While walking to the counter, I overheard one of the workers using excessive profanity towards another coworker because I stepped in an area on the floor that had just been mopped. There was no sign on the floor indicating that the floor was wet or just had been cleaned, but that's how things are when the management is not up to par. read more

I saw a large woman that appeared to be made out of mayonnaise cruising the condiments section. The crocs on her feet looked like they would cry if they could. Isles 11, 12 and 17 are just free day care with minimal supervision. When I asked an employee where the bathroom was, he pointed behind me and I'm pretty sure he smelled the back of my head when I turned to look. He was friendly though, so no harm no foul. I called the Vision Center today to ask if Walmart will honor the advertised Price of $97.92 for two pairs of no line Bifocals from Eyemart Express, right across the street from the Short Pump Walmart. I spoke to a gentleman who told me that Walmart will only honor prices on contact Lenses. When I asked about the policy of Price Matching he said that it was only "apples for apples" meaning it had to be the identical item. He was very courteous and not at all rude. I guess the concern that I have is that Walmart does all this advertising but will not back it up. Very frustrating. read more

Problems in Automotive - Had a serious disappointment in the automotive service department today at this store, which a few years ago seemed pretty good. I went in for an oil change and lost my brakes - a break line under the chassis was damaged. A puddle formed within minutes after they pulled the car out and I had no brakes. They denied even the remotest possibility that something could have happened while in the bay and wouldn't even investigate or look at the leaking fluid right outside the service bay. I felt like I was kicked in the stomach. I've gone there for years and shop the store often. I can understand a mistake and perhaps it was a crazy fluke and my brakes just sprung a leak the second it pulled in to the bay, but it was very disappointing that the Store's assistant manager was unwilling to even investigate and take seriously a customer's concern. I know it wont' be noticed if I stop shopping there, and there are bigger problems in the world to worry about, but I said my 2 cents. read more

I just had the worst customer service experience at this Walmart store, that I have possibly ever had in my life. I have gone to this store for years now, for both groceries and other items, and never had any big problems. However, tonight I went to return an item that I had bought a few weeks ago for a family member who lives out of the country. Upon receiving the item in question, my family member opened it and realized that there was nothing in it. He tried to return it to the Walmart store in that country (with the receipt), but they would not receive it, so he mailed it back to me so that I could return it to the store I bought it at- Walmart store #2821. The lady assisting me at the customer service/returns area was very nice, but she had to ask someone for approval as to what to do. She asked the assistant manager, who looked over at my spouse and I, shook his head, and said that he "didn't believe" what we were saying because "it wouldn't take a month" for us to return it. He said this with a scowl and a clear attitude in his voice. As I could hear him, I said "If you come over here, I will be happy to explain the situation." I explained to him what had happened and he looked at me with an unbelieving expression on his face. I even showed him the return postal package that the box had been sent to me, on which it clearly showed another country. He stated that we needed to "do more investigation" and that he did not believe us. He was not friendly and with both his words and tone, clearly questioned my integrity in front of many people. I told him that I was not lying, and that I am an honest person. He shook his head, said something rude, and then walked off from the area. At this point, I honestly do not care if they exchange the item or not, and I do not need the money back for the item. If this gentleman had nicely explained why he could not take the item, I could accept that. However, I cannot accept the attitude/treatment that I received. It was and is unacceptable. read more

Worst store ever. They closed early for the holiday but failed to put up signs indicating that one entrance would be closing early, so after parking at one entrance under a light and close to the door because I was alone, it was dark and it is not exactly a good neighborhood, I was rudely informed I could not exit through that door and had to leave out of the other one and go across the dark parking lot to my car. Upon reaching the other end, I was informed that I was subject to search and a staff member had the audacity to grab my arm. I shook it loose and informed them that if they had a problem or thought I took something to call the police and search me, otherwise I was leaving. She was lucky there wasn't a police officer close or I would have filed a harassment complaint as I had nothing on me or the cart that was not paid for. I have ordered an item to be delivered to store and will be cancelling it as I will never enter this store again and be treated as a criminal. The management of this store needs to address their staff and let them know that is never acceptable to put their hands on a customer without absolute proof that they have committed a crime. read more

This Walmart is conventient to me, but I try to plan my outings to Walmart so I can go to the Midlothian location. The customer service on Sheila Lane is surly at best. I had a run in with one of the cashiers. I purchased some Hallmark cards and while she bagged them, she was very rough and creased one of my cards. I pointed this out to her and she got a major attitude with me, and ignored my request to get a replacement card. I didn't feel like I should have to go back and search for a replacement. She told me, "ain't nothing wrong with that card, but if you want another one, YOU go get it". I'm normally passive in situations like that, but I decided that this situation would be different. So, I said, "well, if that's your attitude, then maybe we should get the manager involved". She said, "that's fine with me", and after a few minutes she called for the manager. All the time, she was giving me the evil eye and telling the cashier near her that "this white man has an attitude with me and I don't have to put up with it". When the manager came over, I explained what had happened and he apologized and said that he'd go get a new card for me, but I told him to just give me a refund. I also told him that the cashier was very rude and not customer service oriented. He apologized and said he'd have a word with her. I don't know what happened, or if she got fired or what. Probably not. I still go there from time to time, but I strongly prefer the Midlo location. read more

Whenever I can, I try to go to another Walmart or better yet, to Target. Customer service is awful. Probably the worst clerk I had to deal with is the woman at the Walmart.com/photo desk. There are two, one older white female and one younger black female and that's the one with an attitude, no customer service training and seems to be bothered every time she need to do her work. This department seriously needs training and better employees. They can mess up a simple thing (making a photo canvas from a great picture and cut off half of the head and still try to sell it to you pretending everything is fine), you have to wait 20 minutes before somebody shows up to help you and then you get an attitude, like she is half asleep and I interrupted her nap. Maybe if she hates her job, she should find work somewhere else, although I doubt that somebody will be interested in an employee with no manners. read more

I went here on a Sunday for auto services. I was going on a 6 hour road trip on Monday and wanted to get an oil change and a tire rotation. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. First, it took 2 and a half hours for my car to be ready and they weren't even busy when I got there. Secondly, once I went up to the register to pay, the guy behind the counter said, "Oh we couldn't do the tire rotation because you need a new back tire." Had I known that prior to waiting 2 hours I would've purchased a new tire while I was there. I was not going to wait for them to put my car back in the line up again for another 2 hours. So I ended up having to go to another tire place Monday morning. Note to management: maybe you should start informing your customers of services that are needed immediately after someone has taken a look at a car so they can get it taken care of while they're there. What a waste of time. Never going here again. read more
