I thought I might do my bit to remedy that for my own local, seeing as how they are doing a pretty good job. When I come in, I'm nearly always greeted personally by one of the staff. The service in the pharmacy is efficient and knowledgeable, and they have gone the extra mile on several occasions to interact with my healthcare provider in getting me taken care of. The store is clean and organized, but poorly stocked. I get the impression they are perpetually in the midst of downsizing, and it feels a little early-Covid/Soviet Union with isles of mostly-empty shelves and little selection. That's the only detracting factor, and the missing star. They got it going on where it really counts: customer service and pharmacy efficiency. You could do a WHOLE lot worse in Bellingham - I'm looking at YOU, Walgreens... Recommended.

Anyway, after going round and round with my regular pharmacy, and a few others, I finally found that this particular Safeway pharmacy carries it! So I order three months at a time and try to time a trip to Bham to pick it up when I'm in town. The pharmacist and staff are always super helpful and friendly, and there's rarely a long wait. They do close down during lunch in the middle of the day, which I almost always forget and end up having to come back later. Not a huge deal but just something to take note of!

Extremely poor customer service. I was given a gift card for a returns item refund. When I came…read moreback a couple weeks later I wasn't able to use it at the cashier so went to customer service to troubleshoot (the very same customer service that issued the refund). I had the paperwork from the return along with the card. The card number did not match the paperwork and they basically accused me of fraud and did nothing to review how the refund was issued. I called customer service by phone and they confirmed the refund and the credit. They said that one of the two pieces of paper I was issued was an eGift card with a barcode for scanning at the register and couldn't understand why I was also given a card that had not been activated. So the store customer service accused me of fraud as they held the eGift card in their hands. Unbelievable!

I checked out, paid and headed to the door.... and apparently entered some Walton realm... as the kid requested my receipt... like I was @ Sam's..... I still had it n my hand so easy enough to hand it to him. Just an extra hassle step I wasn't expecting as I was trying to get in/out quickly. It's been some time since I've been in my local walmart... maybe this is how all stores now operate?

Their machine is broken! I was told the closest Rite Aid location with photo service is in Lynden, a city 15 miles away! I came in 3 days late to pick up my prescription I needed, couldn't find my card, entered the wrong pin twice and finally was able to walk out with my meds. This sounds like a nightmare to most cashiers, but the pharmacist assisting me was patient and kind and kept me smiling and talking the whole time. It is rare to find a really good pharmacy, but Rite Aid on Sunset is a truly helpful crew and the rest of the store is always well stocked and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

They are literally the only Kaiser pharmacy in this city so they can be fucking shitty and get away with it. There were literally 30 other people who tried to show up during this time.
