I thought I might do my bit to remedy that for my own local, seeing as how they are doing a pretty good job. When I come in, I'm nearly always greeted personally by one of the staff. The service in the pharmacy is efficient and knowledgeable, and they have gone the extra mile on several occasions to interact with my healthcare provider in getting me taken care of. The store is clean and organized, but poorly stocked. I get the impression they are perpetually in the midst of downsizing, and it feels a little early-Covid/Soviet Union with isles of mostly-empty shelves and little selection. That's the only detracting factor, and the missing star. They got it going on where it really counts: customer service and pharmacy efficiency. You could do a WHOLE lot worse in Bellingham - I'm looking at YOU, Walgreens... Recommended.

Anyway, after going round and round with my regular pharmacy, and a few others, I finally found that this particular Safeway pharmacy carries it! So I order three months at a time and try to time a trip to Bham to pick it up when I'm in town. The pharmacist and staff are always super helpful and friendly, and there's rarely a long wait. They do close down during lunch in the middle of the day, which I almost always forget and end up having to come back later. Not a huge deal but just something to take note of!

I checked out, paid and headed to the door.... and apparently entered some Walton realm... as the kid requested my receipt... like I was @ Sam's..... I still had it n my hand so easy enough to hand it to him. Just an extra hassle step I wasn't expecting as I was trying to get in/out quickly. I decided to chat with customer service, but they couldn't find that information either and suggested that I call the store! Some customer service! So, I called the store to inquire. Their machine is broken! I was told the closest Rite Aid location with photo service is in Lynden, a city 15 miles away! I transferred my prescription here a week before pick up to minimize the constant hurdles I am always having to go through just to pick up my hormone prescription. I was assured I would be able to pick up my meds in 1-2 days. I showed up after a week. No meds. Plus I was now being told it would take another day. When asked to clarify the man said it would be 2 days. Now extending the wait from 1-2 days to 8-9 days. The communication coming from this "pharmacy" is so bad it literally is putting me in harms way. Im not sure who it was I talked to on the phone that assured me my hormones would be ready and just seemed to decide not to get my prescription after the time he promised elapsed. Ya know, as you do, just casually deciding to enforce your power over others and put them in harms way through apathy, totally not his fault, I mean, he didn't *do* anything after all, including not getting my meds he promised he'd have ready. Funny how this keeps happening at every pharmacy I go to. Its very interesting how Planned Parenthood seems to be so knowledgeable about the difficulty we always face, almost as if it is oddly common for trans people to frequently have hurdles at pharmacies. The look on this mans face simply asking if it was a safe place. This is *such* a common phrase for businesses to signal to LGTBQIA people, so common there are literal stickers to buy that can be placed at the storefront. Even when it was apparent a problem arose, he made *such* minimal effort even going as far as to inform me *other* prescriptions were available, just not mine. He made it very apparent it was not a safe place with his response, that it was the stupidest question he had ever heard and I was stupid for asking it. I am a fan of Kaiser and of this pharmacy location. I…read moremostly use the Kaiser mail-order service, but halos have had numerous occasions to use this pharmacy. The employees here have always been helpful, cheerful and polite. Even when busy their service has been prompt. I have never encountered a rude person. It is, however, difficult to reach them on the telephone. That is an aspect I feel Kaiser could improve upon. In all, I appreciate the capability and convenience of being able to pick meds up.

They didn't have their hours updated online. It said they opened 12:30 Saturday but they closed…read more12:30-1:00. I arrived exactly at 12:30 and they wouldn't let me pick up my prescriptions. They are literally the only Kaiser pharmacy in this city so they can be fucking shitty and get away with it. There were literally 30 other people who tried to show up during this time. They had a sharpie edited sign with their new time and multiple people waiting said they had called ahead to confirm the time. I'm a pretty reasonable person but when I took the time to double check the hours before driving to the ONLY pharmacy where I can get my meds and they were total pricks about it, that is unacceptable.
