I just had the worst experience at Walmart,I went there and went to the trading card pack of baseball cards and the price said $30 when I went to pay for it they charged me $60, when I went to show the cashier she told me I would have to talk to the manager and when I went to get the manager and went to show him the price tag "it was gone". This was our first time ordering from Walmart.com and at this point I am not planning to order again and will seek out any feedback avenues I can to share my disappointing experience. Everything about Walmart has been poor: the delivery, call center customer service, and interaction with employees at the store where we tried to pick up ordered items. Our entire order is late -much later than the original estimations. To date, nothing we requested be shipped to our residence has been received by us yet. Specifically, I am the most frustrated by the queen mattress which we ordered before Christmas and paid to expedite the shipping for but still have not received (tracking #2677164688817). I called customer service yesterday, 12/27/2011 and spoke with "Sherry" who "replaced" the order in the system. An e-mail notification later informed us we wouldn't receive the mattress until 1/3/2012. The original expedited charge was not waived. We paid for expedited shipping which is defined by the website as 2-3 days. When I called customer service again today to question the receiving date & original shipping charge (since the definition of expedited shipping was not met and won't be met by the replacement order either) I was informed by customer service representative, Jania, and her supervisor, Sabrina, (in Alabama's call center) that they could not do anything more for the situation; neither get us a mattress sooner nor get us a refund on the expedited shipping charge, nor provide me with any other avenue to seek further assistance. I pointed out that we were charged a fee for an expedited service we did not receive, she agreed but reiterated there was nothing more to do. She confirmed that although errors occurred in the delivery of the mattress and in processing the replacement order, that I am left paying for these errors. She wouldn't give me another name or contact to work with. When I pressed further asking about Walmart.com, Sabrina said that was the only thing I could do; give feedback online, but she did not offer that suggestion. I let her know I would then go online to provide feedback, confirmed her name, the events, that the conversation was recorded and concluded at 12/28/2011 at 2:21 Eastern time. I cannot believe nothing more could be done, no one else I could contact, that is the best I could expect from Walmart.com and that is the definition of expedited delivery & worthy of expedited shipping charges or any shipping charge for that matter. The customer service center pointed out the fact that I was not charged delivery charges for the replacement order -how is that consoling Jania & Sabrina? Please note the mattress was most important to us since we relocated to a Boston, MA apartment with carpet over a cement floor and overnight lows in the 20's. Its Christmas and New Years and we will have to continue to sleep on a cold floor that make our bodies shiver & ache. Even the electric blanket we ordered from Walmart.com to the store was late. I went in to exchange two shirts that had black stains on the cuffs of the sleeves. I paid 12 dollars a piece and they only wanted to give me a value of three dollars for pne of the shorts. They then told me I could not exchange a 3x for a 2x even though they are priced the same. I was rreated as a xriminal. The assistantanager ashley was very shprt and smug with me. Theyade me feel petty. A multi billion dollar corporation cheats hard working people out of 6 dollars ,now whos the petty one. The assistant manager was also very rude. I had the absolute worst experience at the Walmart in Lynn today!!! First I went in and bought a TV (good price), and when I got home I realized that it was missing a piece. Okay that was annoying but no biggie. It was what happened when I went to exchange it that made me write this review. My fiance and I went to the customer service desk to exchange the TV and the women behind the desk isn't working in that section tonight and doesn't know how to do exchanges so she tried to get someone who did. Again no biggie. Ten minutes later (even after someone called her on the loudspeaker), I can see the customer service worker (and the job title is so ironic since I received horrible customer service), Jenn slowly walking toward me. She made sure to talk to another co-worker on the way and to take her time as she was swinging her lanyard toward to desk. When she got to me she did not apologize for the wait or give me any explanation as to why she had me waiting. When she was done with the transaction and gave me the receipt, I turned around and started to walk away. Once I turned around, I hear her say "Yooouuur WWelcommmeee" in a rude tone (and of course I turned around and told her that I did not say thank you because she mad me weight ten minutes). I will NEVER go back to the Walmart in Lynn and will NEVER recommend that anyone does. They should do a complete re-hire! read more

Not the best around by far but it is a Walmart so you can't expect much. Store is normally a big mess like some sort of over sized kid was left locked in overnight and trashed the place. Staff can't even point you to the item you are looking for. The food section is limited and the "fresh" stuff is not so fresh. I will say they do have a huge clearance section after most holidays and seasons. The customer service is slighter better then Comcast customer service... I mean that is not saying much. I mean you can dream of it being nice and decent, but just remember there is a web page dedicated to the trashiness that is Walmart. read more

I agree some of the reviews are right about trying to get help. But I go in knowing what I want and get it. Prices are good always have what I want. A heads up people if u do need help. Go to the hardware dept ask for Danny. Hes been there over 20yrs . He understands you and you can understand him. lol But returning things there isn't fun. This is THE Walmart from hell. Poor customer service (actually I should say no service), messy aisles, you will never find anyone there who can answer your questions on the floor. I checked out in the self check out today and they literally stopped me and brother for thinking that we stole all items. I guess we didn't scanned one or two items which were the sparkly garlands for Christmas decorations by accident. Mind you, we grabbed a bunch of them and I guess some of them sticked together. the lady questioned if we still wanted the items, like of course we do!!! Why in the hell would we bring it. Horrible service! I called and asked one question from there after waiting they hung up on me unbelievable. And they never have anyone on the registers only about 2 when they have more than 4 aisles. I would go to the one on Route 1 but that's too far we'll guess I will have to bear with it and endure the horrible experience shopping here. I have a like-hate relationship with Wal-Mart. Growing up in a small town, this was pretty much the only "we sell everything" store within sixty miles of my house. There were other places of course, but damn Wal-Mart drove all of them out of business when they came along. It was also the only 24-hour establishment, & was sort of a local hangout for when you were bored at 2am & wanted somewhere to walk around/wreak havoc. It was either that or the local gas station, by our town's only stoplight. But I digress. The Wal-Mart in Lynn was a pain the ass to get to, despite only being five miles from my apartment. It took about an hour (damn public transportation). Of course, I did get my cinnamon dental floss for 50% cheaper than the local Stop & Shop, & I got three copies of the game I went there for in the first place (a Wal-Mart exclusive; I kept one & sold the other two on eBay for a decent profit). However, I dock these guys a couple stars because when I was preparing to venture out to Lynn to buy more copies of that game, I called ahead to see if they had it. The lady on the phone denied having or EVER having the game, despite the fact that I told her I bought THREE copies of it a month ago. She also seemed irritated that I suggested otherwise, like I was making it all up to make her look bad. WTF is that, really? Obviously, there are "rules" when it comes to Wal-Mart. Go ahead & buy things like Cocoa Puffs, towels, a pillow, a blender, or toothpaste if you need. Just steer clear of anything cloth-like that you wear on your body. Shirts, jeans, even shoes & whatever. Socks are probably fine, maybe even undies/bras, I don't know. Flip-flops are probably fine too, since those are ALWAYS cheaply made. But as far as the shirts & pants go, you're better off just being nekkid. Better to just be nude than to spend money on cheapo clothes & have them fall apart while you're wearing them, right? Then you'd be nude *AND* broke. & yes, I don't know if all Wal-Marts attract scary people, or if scary people are inexplicably attracted to Wal-Marts. But the situation seems the same at every one I've ever been to. People who seem to be in dire need of a shower walk defensively with their buggies, as if they are scared you'll buy the last bag of fried chicken or bottle of Mr. Clean. I don't know. Every now & then, you'll find a decent deal. It's probably also one of the only stores where you can go buy nectarines, a kiddie coloring book, a home pregnancy test, three yards of ugly fabric, & a new set of tires all within the hour. I'll go ahead and defend this Wal-Mart. It's not that bad. The people who shop here aren't scary or weird, they are just mainly Latinos who seemed perfectly nice to me. I actually drove all the way out here from Cambridge because I was buying a bunch of small gifts and toys for kids and the last time I had to do that I spend ~$450 at Target. I knew things would be cheaper at WalMart, so I made the 30+ minute drive. It was well worth it! I got more or less the same quantity and quality of stuff for ~$150 at WalMart. Yeah, the store is a little crowded, and it's small compared to the WalMarts in the South, but if you want to get decent quality products (especially toiletries, toys, art/school supplies, etc.) for extremely reasonable prices, WalMart is your best bet. read more

I moved to Lynn a couple of weeks ago from the south, and this was one of the first places that I shopped. It's Walmart, right? I've been to Walmarts all over the east coast. From NH to FL. This is definitely the worst I have experienced. Unlike some other reviewers, I will not comment on Lynn's people that shop there. I heard no kids screaming, nor did I speak with any of Lynn's "People of Walmart," but I imagine they're like the rest of the people over the US-they shop here because it's cheap and predictable. The store, however, was a mess. I was looking for food, as well as many various things one would need when moving into a new place, so I got a 360 degree view of the store. Also, the staff was less than enthusiastic, to say the least. I am generally a happy person, so I smile a lot. It was pretty uncomfortable when not even the people working there-all throughout the store-would smile back at me. In addition, the girl who checked us out was rude. It was just an all over unpleasant experience. I have no need to go back there. I have family who live in Haverhillthat I visit often, so I will probably just go to the Plaistow, NH Walmart if need be. This store needs a serious overhaul! read more

This site absolutely needs a supervisor retraining program. There are more empty shelves that need stock than I`ve ever seen in my life. Just try and buy a space heater there during the cold spell, sorry sold out and they won`t be reordering till the fall of 2018 i was told. So i went to the Salem Walmart and they were almost constantly stocking the heater shelf as they served the community. When I arrived at the shoe department, there was a big pile of shoes, unboxed, sitting on a shelf..I mean REALLY??..Then I asked for a representative, because there was no one around. I purchased a television set that would not work(Methuen Store). (I know, big surprise) I went back to Walmart less then a week later (Lynn Store). I could not find my receipt, but requested an even exchange. I simply requested a working television of the same product. The customer service associate told me that it would be fine to exchange without a receipt, but would have to pay the tax again. Really?! I asked for the manager, and he proceeded to tell me the same thing. I contacted the store I originally purchased the product (Methuen Store) and asked about the policy. They agreed that it was normal for Walmart stores to charge a tax on an even exchange. After much deliberation, I told the manager that I was pretty sure it was illegal to charge me tax on something I already purchased, which had included tax. He told me it was the state policy. I proceeded to argue that he was incorrect. He made a call to his regional manager, and said he would waive the tax payment for me, but this was a perfectly normal policy of the Walmart Stores. State law clearly states that "When a retail vendor exchanges or replaces taxable merchandise with identical or similar merchandise for no additional consideration because of a defect or because the item is otherwise unsatisfactory to the retail customer, an "even exchange," no additional sales tax is due from the retail customer regardless of whether the retail customer is unable to produce the original sales receipt or other verification of the date and place of purchase, or the exchange or replacement takes place more than ninety (90) days after the original retail sale." Massachusetts needs to prevent their illegal taxing practices. This practice is clearly taking advantage of uneducated or bilingual consumers attempting to save money on purchasing with Walmart. It is utterly shameful. Needless to say, I will never return to any Walmart again!!! read more

Stay clear of this store. They continually overcharge their customers. Items ring up more than marked. The cashiers laughed saying it happens all the time. I was overcharged for 20% of my order. When asked to speak to a manager, they called one up front but told me the managers never come. They were right. Every thing people are saying is true. I love the Walmart stores, its just the Lynnway store that is in such poor shape. I don't know if the problem lies with the people of Lynn who shop there, and just tear the store up, kids running amuck, immigrants tearing through clearance racks looking for deals, or if its the tired staff who cant keep up with the clientele, just need to earn a paycheck and have lost enthusiasm for their jobs. And don't get me started on their bathrooms! Every public bathroom is going to be questionable, but in this one, every toilet is unflushed, debris is on the seats, toilet paper is littered all over the floor, if you work your way to sit on any type of clean surface the toilet paper dispenser is in your lap. The stalls are incredibly tiny. I feel like the dirty walls will rub on my arms and legs. Its a horror show. Remember to pee before going. The bathrooms should be shut down by the health department. After living in California where just about every Walmart is a supercenter I was fairly disappoimted when I walked into the SMALL ass Walmart the one in Salem,Ma is even smaller. NOTHING is ever in stock..like seriously I went to go buy diapers and wipes and had to drive to Targert because Walmart didnt have any in stock...now thats bad!. I use their money gram service which I had one bad transaction but I use them very often so I will say that their money service is good despite the one bad transaction. I know who to trust with the transaction and when to come back if she isnt at the counter. I also make sure to go early in the am for good parking and just to make sure I am one of the first few in line. There is something about early morning shopping that is way better than mid day or evening shopping that makes a huge difference in customer service and the service you recieve. I have been dying to drive Salem, NH to see their supercenter..so sad I have drive across state lines to find a supercenter! read more

Ahh yes Wally World.....they seem to get bigger and bigger, but as long as it serves it's purpose and you get what you came for I suppose that any store can be disgusting and downright havoc to deal with. It's a given especially when based on location...ever hear you become a product of your environment? Yep maybe that has something to do with the people it attracts as far as employees and customers. Long lines you say? Hmmm not at 7:00 when they open up. Bad customer service you say? Not at the self checkout line, although i must admit I get stuck behind people who always and I mean ALWAYS trip the blinking register light because they don't know how to use the self check out or think they are trying to get employee of the month for their super fast scanning skills. But regardless it provides a service and albeit that it may need help in the customer service department it's not that horribly bad. Try being polite to one of the employees and see what you get back in return I have to go now, the doors will be opening soon. read more

I signed up for yelp just to write this review, I agree with many and wish there was a 0 star option. Some people say what do you expect... well from a muti-billion dollar company i would expect a clean and friendly environment. Unfortunately these employees are not clean friendly, or even knowledgeable about there job responsibilities. As an employee is should be to deescalate and problems and if they get worse then get a manager, as a manager it should be priority to ensure the customer leaves happy. This is not what happened with me. Without getting deep into my situation i had made an original complaint about the store which they called my phone saying to call them to resolve the problem. When i called i got transferred 4 times to all different people from all over the store (does any one know what they are doing, or is everyone just trying to defer the problem to someone else?) When finally speaking to the manager i felt harassed about my complaint and was completely unsatisfied with the whole situation not to mention them wasting my time to call the store and just further my aggravation. To put the cherry on top the manager bullshited me around for a half hour ending with "ok have a nice day" and hung up on me, completely unacceptable for any manager...DISGUSTING! read more
