Love Trader Joe's! Especially for all the ready to eat foods in the frozen section- so many tempting things! The dumplings, scallion pancakes, chicken dishes, turkey meatballs, turkey burgers, fried rice, edamame, and also the croissants and baked goods! We go in for a couple things and leave with two bags full lol ;)!! The service was great too - we were just going to wait in line at one of the checkout lanes when a friendly guy came up to us and brought us over to one of the open lanes and helped us check out there. The restroom was reasonably clean and the exhaust fan was on but still was a bit stinky. The door had a full length mirror though which is a nice touch and I've never seen that in grocery store bathrooms. Parking was easy and it's right on the highway so easy to get to. So different than the the ones in Brooklyn, NY! So much more room n spacious. So civilized n calm. The cashier lines are not busy. There's no one directing traffic as the ones in NY. Daniel in produce was very helpful in tracking down a hard-to-find item. When it turns out they were out of stock, he figured out when it would arrive at the warehouse, then wandered the store to relocate me and provide complete information. I was very impressed. Always a great experience at Trader Joe's. Service is always excellent and the staff always goes out of their way to help you. The frozen food section can be such a saving grace especially to those who do not have the time to cook or are not a big fan of cooking meals from scratch. They have variety of frozen foods from various cuisines like Italian, Indian, Asian and so on. The wild caught frozen seafood is great and the price point is perfect. The best part if going into the store and sometimes finding these gems- be it some snack mix or a bbq sauce or even some seasonings. Never had a bad experience. Prices are always unexpectedly lower than you would expect for such high quality, delicious food. Whether to buy flowers is a question when I go to the grocery store because, although they're pretty and cheery, they're pricey. Not at TJ's though. Today I bought Gerber daisies to add a pop of color and brightness and it didn't break the bank. Today I was impressed that at the door there is an associate spraying everyone's hands with hand sanitizer before they enter. What a great idea! read more

So many great items at trader joes! Loved their shrimp cake but they stopped making it. Always on the look out for other delicious items like their yuzu soda. Kids can look for stuffed animals and get a small prize if they tell one of their staff where it is. Also, can request a kiddie size shopping cart to make it a more fun experience for them. read more

Really nice to be able to get a variety of interesting packaged goods here, in particular their dried fruits and their bananas are go-to staples. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded, and parking can be difficult. read more

Great TJs. I go there after work during the week and it's rarely crowded. They are always well stocked and the staff if always friendly and seemingly happy. Parking lot can be a bit of a cluster at times but I've been to TJs in other cities where you have to wait in line to park so whatever. read more

Trader Joe's is always great for all basic snacks, and the best of taste typically in bakery and meats. This location, like all others, didn't disappoint. While it would be nice to have a larger parking lot that isn't full to the brim and is consistently jammed, I guess it should be lucky to have one at all being that this is Cambridge. Selection was very plentiful. The store was super busy and even on a busy Sunday afternoon many people were filling the shelves. Everything I wanted was in stock, and even though some of the other Trader Joe's locations I visit are less busy, some seem to be more frequently out of stock of certain items. The meats here looked fresh and the staff were friendly. Plenty of checkout lanes open on a Sunday. Good store. Would highly suggest, always a benefit if you can come here on off hours though as parking is a struggle. 4 stars. read more

This is your typical Trader Joe's. They have all the things you come to expect of Trader Joe's. I often joke that they are a glorified candy store that sells fruits and vegetables on the side because when you go down every aisle at Trader Joe's you are bombarded with chocolate covered peanuts and pretzels etc. That being said they have excellent prices on many things. One word of caution, The parking lot here can be adventurous so I often park over to the CVS side and just walked a couple extra feet and avoid having some unskilled city dweller crash into my car. read more

I love this store. The staff is so friendly, the merchandise is always exciting and rotating, and everything feels very Covid safe. A lot of fun goodies in the frozen section as well as the snacks section. The Trader Joe's frozen desserts are a must try; for example, Hold The Cone mini ice cream cones are so good! Love this Trader Joe's! I am always coming in here for fresh produce and frozen food. The staff is always very friendly and helpful even when they're busy. The sample area is always welcoming even when I would prefer not to sample lol. Other tj's seem like they don't want to give you samples but not this one! The parking lot is a total shit show I have been backed into multiple times (side note if 2 cars back up into each other no one is at fault pet insurance) and due to the location homeless people tend to hang around and set up shop around the Dunks but this is still my fav Trader Joe's. In my last review I complained about the awful parking spots. I need to write an update to inform folks reading this that I've been humbled. I recently moved to FL and the closet TJ's is 40mi away. Yes the closest. Smh. I absolutely love this store and all it's products and employees. Every time I visit and every store I shop in has very nice employees. Now that it's pumpkin season there are so many deliciously seasoned pumpkin themed items. I'm super stoked! My faves are the pumpkin waffles, spiced granola and pumpkin ice cream. I do not understand the negative reviews about the staff here. The staff at this TJs goes above and beyond! Once I asked the worker if the peanut butter and jelly chocolate was good. He said "I dont know, here lets split one and try it, on me" (it was in fact delicious) Another time I sighed out loud so the worker was asking what was up. I mentioned I was moving and changing my job all in the same week and the stress was taking a toll on me. As I was cashing out she disappeared and brought me a sunflower as a present. It made my day! SO nice of her. I always have great experiences here and find the staff exceptionally nice and helpful. This is the best TJs ever! read more

I think most people can agree that Trader Joe's has a lot going for it. Fresh produce and plants? Check. Interesting frozen food section? Check. Daily food and drink samples? Check. But the best thing about Trader Joe's is their wine section. Everyone knows this. In New York, the Union Square TJ's even has it's own Wine Shop next door (which is constantly crowded). So how am I supposed to feel when I walked into this location and saw no two-buck Chuck gracing the shelves? Disappointed, disillusioned, distraught are just a few words that come to mind. Alewife TJ's, no matter how good your food, you need to recognize what people really want. Shape up and give me my cheap wine. read more

I've been waiting for what seems like forever for this new TJ's location to open and it's finally here. I stopped by the Grand Opening today to check it out. The store itself is actually quiet spacious, not like some of the other grocery stores around where you feel claustrophobic because the asiles are narrow and towering over you. Most average height people can reach the tops of the shelves, and for those times when there are 2 carts next to each other you can still get by (so long as you don't have a cart). There was plenty of staff on hand milling about the store offering help and chatting with the customers. Made me feel very welcome, and comfortable to ask questions when I had them. As for the contents of the store, well it's Trader Joes there's not much else I can say about that part. Lots of delisious fruit, vegetables, meat, non-meat, frozen foods, all for a reasonably price. Unfortunately, no wine. This TJ will definitly become a regular part of my grocery rotation. read more

I prefer to shop at the Trader Joe's on Memorial because they sell beer/wine over there....however, this is the location I run to if I just need some produce or frozen goodies. You really can't go wrong with Trader Joe's in general! Cons about this location: tough parking, and drivers are CRAZY out around that traffic circle. No beer/wine. Pros about this location: across the street from Whole Foods, so you can generally get everything you need in one trip out from the house. read more

Today I called the location wondering if they do flower delivery as my wife works across the street. Today is our two year anniversary. Matt not only offered to make an exception and do a delivery which they do not normally do, but would not take my money for payment! Love going to this Trader Joe's. It's larger than than the one in Boston or in Cambridge. Sometimes there can be a bit of people specially during the weekends but nothing too crazy. I've never had to wait long to check out. I love the little samples they always have, some have been so good I've bought the actual item. Extremely good products for very good prices. My wife and I had no idea how awesome Trader Joe's was until we moved to Cambridge. A lot of their products are way cheaper than similar alternatives elsewhere. I was particularly surprised by the ground beef. The store is always well stocked, well staffed and very clean. Something I learned today: this Trader Joe's is the preferred snack purveyor for the slightly obsessed crowds that gather to watch Buzz and Ruby, the red-tailed hawks who've nested atop the sign at 185 Alewife Brook Parkway. I grabbed a bag of wasabi peas, took a left out of the parking lot and joined the pack of fifteen cooped up on the slim strip of grass between asphalt and Alewife. Fifteen people, sitting and staring at a couple of raptors, for hours and hours on end. Cameras perched, binoculars at the ready, eyeing 'em like, well, hawks. It's the oddest site. Back to TJs, the wasabi peas pack a punch. Just don't feed the birds. read more

I love Trader Joe's. It has so many wonderful snacks and unique foods. I love the Take-Out Thali meals, and the peanut butter pretzels and green tea mochi ice cream and the frozen naan and the cheese enchiladas and... just about everything they sell. I do not, however, like how crowded most of their stores are. Which is why the store at Alewife is fantastic! It has all of the great products that make every other Trader Joe's so mouth-wateringly tempting, without the constant jostling and cart-dodging of other stores! You can actually walk around! You can take time to decide what you want! You don't have to shop the frozen section by drive-by box-snatching! Also, the staff can usually help you find what you need, or at least will know if it is out of stock. They are also quite knowledgeable about their products. Well, for the most part. One day, I was looking all around the store for quinoa and couldn't find it. Finally, I decided to ask someone if they had any. "I'm sorry, what are you looking for?" "Quinoa," I said, pronouncing it 'keen-wah,' as I have been told by the box, everything I have ever read about the grain, and a basic understanding of linguistics. "How do you spell it? I'll look it up." "Q-U-I-N-O-A." "Oh, you mean 'kuh-noh-ah,'" he said, in a long, drawn out, teaching-a-slow-three-year-old kind of voice. "Yeah, we have that." He then took me straight to the aisle and picked up the box. As he was handing it to me, he said, "Here you go, 'kuh-noh-ah'" in that same speech teacher voice, all while holding the box as if to display how the word on the box matched the word he was saying. I thought about asking if he'd have any trouble pronouncing the word through some missing teeth, but decided against it. The fact is, though, that he was still extremely helpful and knew exactly where to find the product, even if he was a bit arrogant about it. This is probably the best Trader Joe's around, and if it were more convenient to my apartment, I'd probably come here all the time. read more

I decided to pay my newest love (TJ's) at the most 'off' time and ended up there on a Thursday at 2pm. Empty. There were parking spots everywhere and I knew that TJ and I would have some intimate time to ourselves. As soon as I entered, I could tell how much bigger this place was than the Memorial Dr. location. The distance from the door to the closest merchandise was at least 15 feet. Lots and lots of space for cart maneuvering. They definitely have more aisles, too, and considering that they don't have alcohol either means that they have way more merchandise (maybe even varieties?) than its sister down the street. But don't expect the exact same thing -- some of the suggestions that Memorial Dr's location have taken from their customers (for example, individual lemons!) are not found here. I don't know if all Trader Joe's locations are doing this, but they were also giving out generous samples of their cornbread stuffing with gravy, and also some spiced cider, both of which were drop-dead yummy! They also participate in the bring-reusable-bags raffle and have you write your name and phone number on the back of a ticket to leave with the cashier. I enter every week, but they still haven't called. Has anyone ever won this thing?? For now, I'll only be visiting during off-peak hours, which I hope will help keep our love alive. read more

WTF? I just dont get it. I walked into this store and almost walked out. This is the "Trader Joes" everyone raves about right? So I proceed to the produce section. Yes, Produce...everyone on yelp said it was great. ummm where is all the produce? a narrow section of baskets with the basics... grrrr I need a red jalapeno! Broccoli? Oh yes, here it is. Orgainic. $4. ...$4!! ughh "Oh its so open and spacious"...Yeah! cause they dont have anything! This store sucks. I didnt find most things I was looking for and the prices were outrageous. "Oh the people are so nice and they help you find what you need"...really? there are only 5 asiles!!! do you really need someone to help you? "Oh its so convient"...Crammed in this plaza with a little ass entry that I nearly missed and no left turn to exit?! And Rt 16. Oh my lord. Do they have sleeping bags at Trader Joes? I, too, am surprised by the negative reviews of the employees here. I've been frequenting this TJs since it opened and my interaction as well as observations of the employees have been nothing short of wonderful (with the exception of one: the tall guy named Dave. He's rude to everyone and I would rather wait in line that has 10 people with carts full of groceries than go to his register and deal with his rudeness). The store is always in order and well stocked and if there's something you're looking for but can't find they go out of the way to look around the shelves (sometimes they reorganize and put it somewhere else) or check the back to see if it's about to be restocked. The prices are super reasonable and they have a lot of unique items. If you're interested in a product but not sure if you'd like it, you can take it to the demo station and they'll open it and give you a sample. Ignore the negative reviews bcz they're probably about the tall pale guy Dave. There will always be one bad apple in a bunch, toss it aside, pretend it doesn't exist, and feast your eyes upon the glorious bunch. Just a few additions after going to TJs many more times.. -The flowers here are really fresh and pretty; I love picking up a bouquet here. -I like that the eggs are individually stamped with the expiration date. This is really helpful because I have egg storage built-in my fridge at home and do not store eggs in the carton I bought them in. -I would be careful about buying milk here. Every time I bought milk, it always expired earlier than the printed expiration date. When it happened the first few times, I thought oh, maybe it's just a fluke. But it's happened 5+ times now. And I'm talking about how the expiration date says it will expire on the 31st, but when I open the carton on the 26th, it smells sour. I don't know if this applies to other dairy items because I've never purchased anything other than milk. read more

This is a confusing store. I come in once a week and the staff is usually rude to the point of just throwing my groceries into the bag and then intentionally slamming it against the counter as they hand the bag off to me. I'm confused because I don't know whether to take it personally and get offended, or just feel sorry that all they've amounted to in life by 40 is a teller at Trader Joes. I brought up the behavior to the manager once and his answer was "I don't know why he did that but he's been having some teeth problem lately." 5 stars for food which is mostly amazing, and 1 star for customer service which is atrocious. read more

I went here for the first time today, marveled at how organized everything is, how fresh all the fruits are, how low the prices, and said to the cashier "First time at Trader Joe, this place is amazing." She replies, "I think so too". 5-6 minutes later, I'm back in Harvard Square through Concord Ave. Beats the hell out of market basket or shaws. I felt the urge to review Trader Joe's this morning since I'm a HUGE HUGE Fan. I'm particularly pumped about this location - since it's about 5 minutes from my house. The only downside - the parking. The parking lot is pretty much one of the worst in the area. Be warned. Otherwise this place is great! They always have full stocked shelves, I've found that if you don't hit the TJ's on the right day, they may not have the particular item you're looking for but this location seems to be right on the ball with restocking. I also find TJ's to be wayyyy cheaper overall than Shaw's or StopNShop. Their produce isn't the best but conveniently, Whole foods is across the street. yay! read more

I like this Trader Joe's so much! They have a large selection for a TJs, including tons of organic produce, coffees, cheeses, meats and breads. I guess those are the things you get in a grocery... The flowers are always amazing, this week I bought 18 roses for $7.98 and they are gorgeous. Trader Joe's carries mostly their own products, and they are always of a very high quality. I really trust their brands, from prepackaged food to soap to beverages. They also often have samples in the back of the store. The service is excellent, something I have come to expect from Trader Joe's. Staff is helpful and kind. A couple of my favorite Trader Joe's products: Mango shave cream 96% fat free ground beef (one of the few places to find it and so cheap) Peanut butter cups Organic ketchup Sushi Sicilian olive oil (the ONLY non-Greek olive oil I will buy) Chocolate covered espresso beans The only drawback is the parking lot, which looks like a nightmare. The inside's just like every other TJs, but if you were lucky - like moi - you were able to score some free shopping bags on opening day. If there was a TJ's in Medford I would be able to eat well all of the time at a reasonable price. But unfortunately the closest locations are Alewife (TRAFFIC) and Arlington (not close enough). I just love love love shopping there. I can accomplish about 80% of all of my shopping. Unique items, great produce and friendly staff. WIN!
