    This store management is extremely disturbing. I agree with these reviews with 3 stars bc it's true that most of the individuals that work there are great at what they do. The deli, seafood & meat etc are awesome. I switched banks to Citizens bc it's more convenient but I've gone back to the BOA bc their ATM etc is right next to customer service (another place to avoid like the plague). That speaks volumes about the sketchy management. SMH it's darn near impossible to get worse than than that bank. This being said, I've personally witnessed one of the (four)managers become verbally abusive and act in a threatening manner. I contacted their corporate office with specific details by email but "Ethics division" at the corporate office in Quincy as yet to address. They have obviously not reviewed the video of the incident that occurred at the most heavily trafficked area in the store-at the entrance next to the DD located in the store. Ppl with nothing to hide, hide nothing. They either don't have the ability to properly keep the public safe via their "surveillance cameras" or they've seen it and it's not up for debate. Couple that with the old saying "The hand of one is the hand of all" and what we've got here is basically any encounter with that store is a crap shoot. We've got a better chance at Encore than this Stop and Shop. I quickly learned how to use the self-check out in another attempt to avoid the manager by any means necessary. It would be a lot easier if he wasn't creepy and scary. He uses his physical size, especially his girth to intimidate ppl. It always stuck in my crawl thinking back to the employee strike. Not bc the employees/union went on strike bc that's probably the only way to get through to this kind of holier than though they've got going on. It's the fact that I clearly remember trying shop for Easter/Passover dinner but to do so I had to cross the picket lines and that didn't feel right so I just bought the kosher basics and my family had the worst Passover dinner I've ever made. To not negotiate in good faith, to allow some pennies come before the good of the community, idk it's a poor reflection on this corporation.

    This Stop & Shop reminds me of the one @ South Bay, but it's much, much cleaner. It looks brand new! Also, when I returned to my car, no windows were smashed out and none of the contents were missing! One thing that stands out at THIS Stop & Shop? THE NATIVITY SCENE ON THE BUTCHER COUNTER. It's HILARIOUS. I felt like I was grocery shopping at a joke shop. Also, some of their prices are a little high. OK, later...

    After shopping at this Stop & Shop location I have to say that I have many thoughts about the overall experience. After thinking about what I wanted to say about this store I realized that my overall experience was negative with one redeeming moment which is the only reason I bumped it to two stars. To sum up my experience, here at the things you need to know; 1. Finding this Stop & Shop is a nightmare if you aren't from the area and are not coming from a "convenient" direction. 2. The parking lot is a mess and I almost got hit multiple time both in my car as well as walking through the lot. 3. When I called the floral department on the phone I got a lackluster response about ordering a nice bouquet of flowers and eventually told the employee that I would just stop in and buy a prior made one since she was "too busy." When I arrived, there were no employees in the floral department. 4. The check-out lines were a mess, there weren't enough open aisles and the cashier I had was rude. Now the only pros I could put together were the fact that the prior made bouquets were beautiful and the prices were decent.

    The deli department manages to surprise me every time. I've gotten a pound of provolone sliced so thin, it was almost like it was shaved all because the person before me ordered whatever paper thin and the person couldn't bother to change the thickness. Today I was surprised with this in my sliced cheese. Why on earth this did end up in the trash is beyond me, but to include it is just poor judgement/ customer service which is the norm most of the time. And while the steak tips can be a great deal when they are on sale, they seem to "forget" their butchering skills when the price drops.

    Update: Visit on 11/18/17 and theres outdated pizzas on sale in the HEALTH FOOD isle dated august 2017. Unreal. Also, cookies from september 2017. No attention paid in this store

    Once again the deli employees are horrible. There is never anyone there and when they are they wild rather not work at all!

The kimbap was also delicious and was restaurant quality for less than restaurant prices. Unlike the Central Square location, this HMart does not have a Paris Baguette inside or a seating area in the front, so you'll need to take your grab-and-go items somewhere else to eat. The variety of items was about the same though, with premade korean foods, premade sushi and sashimi, and many aisles of Asian frozen foods, produce, and packaged foods. It was pretty packed when I went during lunch but checkout didn't take too long. There's a promotion where you can get a free mug if you're a member with the option to get a kimbap packet or strawberry milk for $1 if you spend over $50. Everything was fresh, clean and service was quick! Staff was at every corner and everyone was helpful.

    I am extremely dissatisfied with this location's online shopping experience, customer service,…read moredelivery, and the frequent technical issues with the app. My experiences at the Porter Square Star Market have been consistently disappointing. When orders are mishandled, management has not provided effective assistance or solutions. But having a customer have to wait 7 business days to receive a refund, but you don't know this is the only funds that a customer has (money-wise, EBT, etc.). The Star Market app has ongoing technical issues, including frequent glitches, incorrect address selection, and problems with item substitutions. This is why it's hard for a customer to trust your app. These issues have persisted for over a year, resulting in orders being delivered to the wrong addresses. When I have contacted the store for assistance, staff have not taken responsibility or provided effective support, which is frustrating given the time invested in shopping. The process of using Uber and DoorDash for delivery is inefficient, often requiring customers to cancel and restart their orders, which is inconvenient and reflects poorly on the company. Star Market should address the app's technical issues, enhance customer service and delivery processes, and ensure customers receive timely support when problems occur. Additionally, policies with third-party delivery services like Uber and DoorDash should be revised to provide greater flexibility for shoppers.
