Super slow at night and always have a long line, I come here at night so it's less busy, which it would be if there was more than one cashier. Also they need to present themselves in a more profession and formal way it's a business place not a bounce house. read more

While we have shopped here for the past 14 years and like this store overall, today we have to express our disappointment with their operation. This afternoon, on the other side of Hwy 88, there was a grass fire resulting in a loss of electrical power to this store. We arrived after the loss of power and we met by employees outside, and asked about whether they didn't have back up generators because we could see some lights on within the store. They explained that their generators only had enough power for people to get to the checkup stands and be checked out. They wouldn't give any estimate of how long they, or PG&E expected the power to be off. We could stand outside the front of the store entrance and observe CalFire working on the fire. We also observed PG&E vehicles in the area. Before long, the smoke subsided quickly followed by a PG&E truck with a boom move into position at the base of a high voltage pole in the parameter of the fire area, and raise its boom with 2 workers in the bucket to the lower power lines on this pole. They did some work and in about 15 - 20 minutes had finished and lowered the boom. After a few minutes we were aware that the power had been restored to Walmart. The soda vending machines outside started up, Lights came on in the store, but everyone was told that they couldn't come in yet, that it would take 10 minutes to reset (what exactly needed resetting was never explained). Ten minutes came and went, then an employee to people who asked said it would be open in just 15 minutes. Each time someone ask, we got yet more info giving the same or longer estimates, none indicated any progress. After about half an hour and the last "updated" estimate just still saying 20 minutes, we left and went across the street to K-mart which we found wide open. Having spent 15 -20 minutes in K-mart, we thought we'd swing back to Walmart and see if they were open by now, but found them still closed and more people gather outside waiting. This represents a failure of customer communications and respect: 1. They did not give "official" information to those waiting. 2. They made no attempt to inform the waiting customers of any update, nor explain the delay or the added delays as they occurred. 3. They refused customers access to the restrooms. 4. It took them at least 10 minutes after we arrived to have a couple employees stand at the driveway entrance to tell arriving customers that the store was closed, no power. They should have made a sandwich sign with that info on it. 5. There is nothing explained why they wouldn't let anyone in when it was obvious that the lights were on inside so the customer could get out of the 90 deg heat and push their carts around shopping while what every needed resetting. It seems that if the checkup system were kept operational with back-up power, there should be nothing needed to reopen them. This was a public relations disaster! read more

This Wal-Mart, like so many others, just sells products. 98% of the employees are not very helpful, they get confused when you ask them questions beyond "where can I find milk?" and the selection is very limited. Being 6'3" and a big guy, I can almost never find any clothes in my size beyond sweats. Their electronics department is staffed with people who don't know much of anything, their stockers have bad habits of leaving pallets in the middle of the isles before going on break and all the managers ever do is apologize for the inconvenience. The pharmacy is a joke. They don't follow through, they don't pay attention to what they are doing and when you pick up your prescriptions they insist on telling you what your medication does (as if I don't know what ibuprofen does) Lousy stores, lousy company, and they are just Target stores reborn to suit the mass population, not the every day customer. Like I said, they don't carry big man sizes yet they always have racks and racks of clearanced items, sizes ranging from small to large, maybe a few xl's in there, but not much more than that. Hmmmmm, maybe they should stock less of those sizes and more bigger sizes? read more

The customer service is terrible! I needed help in the fish department and asked someone up at the front if they could send someone there to help me. After waiting almost 10 minutes, I got tired of waiting. I am disabled and it is hard for me to walk all over the store so I called the store, told them I was still waiting for help in the fish department and could someone please help. Nothing. I finally walked up to the front to complain and got nothing but a head nod. No suggestions on what could be done to help, nothing. read more

The customer service here was absolutely terrible. I sat and waited to get formula for over 30 minutes. I pressed the call button 5 times. I went and asked employees 6 times, they told me "there's nothing I can do." They called over the intercom 3 times. I went up to the manager twice to get someone. I heard the manager tell the associate "we'll what am I gonna do I can't leave here". She finally called someone else to come back. When she was getting my formula she said, "I'm sorry about the wait, the person with keys is on break." So I went through all this trouble all because the employee with keys was on a break and couldn't give anyone else the keys. Then when I was leaving I saw the manager, who couldn't leave the front, walking to the back after she just told me she couldn't leave the counter. With all this going on i had customers telling me to just break it open and get some since they were being so terrible. What a horrible experience. read more

I saw a review that said shelves are always stocked. They most certainly are not. There are always at lease a couple items I come in for that they don't have. I'm typically only able to go in after work when they're pretty busy but the past 5 or 6 visits they've only had 2 cashiers open with lines pouring into the walkway. They've managed to push out a lot of competition but now they don't have to try as hard so they under staff, under stock, and under deliver on customer service. Most cashiers can't be bothered to move quickly when lines are forming and I've witnessed one particular female manager have a number of rude interactions with employees and is oblivious to customers. read more

This place is horrible. This morning an employee named Martha, cleaning the floor in the garden section, made us so uncomfortable and unwelcome. We were in the isle first when when she came around the corner with her cleaning equipment. She turned it off waited for 30 seconds then turned the machine back on. She mumbled we were in the way and she couldn't back up. This interaction took all of 1 minute. Literally, we couldn't shop for one minute without being called stupid and rushed out of the isle. We never made an ant bait selection It the process of turning around my husband knocked a box off the shelf. She proceeded to call us stupid for letting her pick it up. I am sorry, but lady you were so self absorbed you needed to pause and think about your actions. Your impatience and lack of couresty was epic. You could have waited until we were done. You are being paid. You have a job because people shop. We walked out without making any purchase. read more

This place is lacking. But its the only place we can go unless we travel an hour away to sac. And the kmart here is even worse so thats not an option. The pharmacy is really bad. Its always backed up, scripts are never ready, or out. I called in my script on a wed, to pick up on fri, called my dr too to make sure they oked the order, call walmart thurs saying will be in on fri to pick up. Said ok. Get call fri saying no pills, waiting for shipment to come in, i go in and they give me 3 pills over the weekend and say it will be ready mon, go in on mon, still no shipment. And wont give me any more pills to hold me over until actual order does come in. Mind you this is my diabetes medications. So i go without until they know what they are doing. read more

This bad review goes out to who ever designed the layout for this store. Not only is this store too small to serve the growing population, the set up of isles totally sucks. I hate having to go to this store because it is a major traffic jam with shopping carts. Displays are in the centers of the major isles which create a major cluster F. Oh boy is all I can say here it's a hit and miss i enjoy some of the staff very friendly lately they gotten rid of the yucky employees. I have a few favorite but lately a few very rude ones. I get the whole check the receipt at the door thing. Even tho it's not required by law: here is why I say this we did not sign a contract for them to do so. Me personally I don't care I don't have nothing to hide however this method becomes an issue if you get a lazy cashier and they didn't ring up you up properly meaning they used the same value or different and a different product. Now leaving the store becomes an issue you now have a different item. Today I watched a horrible thing a lady who was a dressed nice in Her Dr attire paying cash and paid for a light for a little sweet lady because the checker wasn't paying attention lol I sorta overheard not trying to ease drop but her child got injured very seriously she flew out of the store I had noticed she very quickly gathered her stuffed spilt as I was exiting they where holding her up for wrong receipt? Oh man did I want to step in it seemed ok, who knows but I hate coming here I have been grabbed on my arm before with my receipt in hand for laundry soap. I'm sorry but usually in this town its inside folks stealing just saying.. I hate this place I want another place to shop. I recognize that complaining about Walmart is like spitting in the ocean, but I've had such a bad experience, that I had to share. A few weeks ago I went in and said something pleasant to the checker (Judy) about the economy. She went off about our current administration and how it's all President Obama's fault and yada yada yada. Very ugly stuff. OK, I shook it off. I now realize that I shouldn't have. A couple of weeks later I went in again (it's one of our very few choices for shopping) and got stuck in line behind a customer talking to the checker (Cindy) about how bad our President is and all the same ugliness again. The checker was right in there with him, and saying terrible things. Considering that she admitted to not knowing the meaning of "incumbent," I'm thinking they weren't very well informed opinions. When I got up to the checker I told her that she really shouldn't discuss politics at the check-out because she never knows who's listening. Her reply? "Well, the customer started it." Excuse me? I told the manager, (Christi) and she nodded and apologized and all the right stuff, but I did not feel satisfied at all. During the same visit, they were all doing inventory and I heard 2 different groups of employees standing around talking about how they were doing all the work and how if it wasn't for them the inventory wouldn't get done. AND I was 3 feet away from a supervisor in the fabric department who was dressing down an employee! I was just standing there shopping for buttons! I will never shop in that store again. K-Mart is right across the street and they have wonderful customer service (they're number 2, they try harder). Sacramento is 2 hours away and I'll go there to do my shopping if K-Mart doesn't have what I need. This is an incredibly small community and our shopping choices are quite limited. That doesn't mean that I have to be subjected to employees denigrating our President, especially when he's trying to get health care for THEM! read more

The pharmacy here is the worst. Never have what you need in stock. When you are sick you can't wait three days for them to get what you need. The employees, from the desk clerk to the pharmacist all seem irritated, angry and hostile. They border on rude all the time. The clerk does not listen to what you are asking and just keeps repeating the same answer no matter how much you try to explain your question. Will take my Rx anywhere else even though on my insurance it will cost more. read more

I am so happy with the auto department at the Jackson Walmart. I went in for my regular oil change and tire balancing and rotation. As usual I did my shopping while they worked on the car. When I returned to the auto department all shopped out, I waited for them to finish my car. A young associate came up to me with tablet in hand said that he noticed that my headlight covers were very yellow and fogged. He said they have a polishing service that would get them clear and shiny and they would be happy to make an appointment for me to get them polished. I told him I had just bought a Headlight Restoration kit in the valley for $89.99 for me to attempt. He said that the Walmart techs will do it for $29.99. SOLD! I had them do it after they completed the other work. It takes about 45 mins. but it is worth every penny and time. My headlights looked like they were brand new and the light is so much brighter at night. A great oil change, tire work and headlight restoration from a great team. This is the only Walmart that I can say I love. This is in the Sierra Foothills and usually pretty empty, except for the first of the month. It then gets a little crowded but no where near other Walmarts. Walmart is not usually my favorite store but in this small community it fits the bill and saves a trip to Folsom or Sacramento. read more

As long as I have been shopping here, I cannot say that I've ever met a rude Walmart employee. They are always nice and try to be helpful and that's huge for me in service. The store recently installed self-checkout registers and those are a timesaver, however I feel bad for the employees since this will be a weeding out process for current employees manned at register jobs, and that's a shame. There were 2 men ahead of me, one rotating tires and turned out the other guy had to order his so he left. I don't like any of the big box stores but having said that, this one in particular seems to have some personnel issues. Maybe it's the low pay and lack of benefits. The automotive center is very slow and they don't seem to know what they are doing. We got a flat tire and stopped at Walmart to get it fixed and waited over 2 hours. Other customers who had waited for about that long started to leave. Definitely would not recommend coming here if you have any other choice. read more

I placed an online pharmacy refill and got an email telling me my prescription was ready. I drove 25 minutes and waited in line for 1/2 hour to be told that only a portion of my order was ready (3 pills) because they were short. When I expressed my displeasure about the drive etc. the counter person got snippy and said they were short handed. Yes, I assume that is my fault. Why bother to fill the prescription at all or at least contact me to let me know it was only partial. I returned the following week and drove the 25 minutes again and stood in line 25 minutes. I was the lucky one at #5 in the cue. Felt sorry for the other 6 behind me. I can due WITHOUT the attitude!!! read more

This place sucks!!!! Everytime I go in there I see all kinds of people with blue vests but no one can help! It's like they all get paid to stand around and avoid doing something called work! I've had it with this place. Today I counted 5 people in yellow vest that say "customer service" and a guy who might have been the manager hanging out at the front of the store doing jack sh**! I had the pharmacy page someone to help in the pet isle and not a soul came to help me! I finally walked to the front and counted out loud how many people I saw standing around socializing yet unable to answer a page to help a customer ( in a department not too far away). COME ON! First, let me say that I have shopped at this Walmart for years and have never had a problem until today. Shopping with my boyfriend, we picked up a few groceries and getting in line, he picked up a bottle of Jack Daniels and a bottle of Vodka. I noticed that it took our cashier (Candace, a Caucasian woman in her 60s) a while to actually acknowledge us and turn the belt on to move our groceries up. After a couple of minutes she started our checkout but I noticed glanced back and forth between my boyfriend and I (we are an interracial couple). When prompted for an ID, I handed her my drivers license and she said "I need to see his too." I said "Really?? Since when? I've never heard of that." She said "Oh yeah, it's the law and they make us do it." Mind you, we've bought alcohol at that Walmart together for years and this is the first time we have EVER both been carded. My boyfriend (50) and myself (38) are obviously beyond drinking age. Anyone could see it. When I called the store manager (Bobby Maupin III) an hour later, I was told by the person answering the phone that it was "the law"...funny thing how I can't seem to track down this law. What I am seeing is that it is at the cashier's discretion and if he/she chooses to abuse their "power", they can do so under the guise that they are trying to prevent underage drinking or sales of alcohol to minors. What they could not justify to me is how not one but TWO adults were carded for the purchase of alcohol if the intent of that would-be policy is simply prevention of underage drinking. Neither of us are race-card nuts but it was hard to ignore the elephant in the room this time - I'd like to think that we are beyond that crap here in California, but apparently it is acceptable to harass people of a different race under the guise of enforcing store policy. I asked if, in accordance with their policy, I would be denied the sales of alcohol if I tried to purchase it in the presences of my 14-year-old daughter. The manager stated that it wasn't likely unless it looked like I was purchasing the alcohol for my child - or if there were people in my group checking out who looked underage and that I might be planning to buy the alcohol for them. So how does that look exactly? How is it that you determine what a person looks like when they plan to give alcohol to an minor? Moreover, when that person buys the alcohol and takes it home, then gives it to a minor, how is it that Walmart is liable and not the idiot adult who provided alcohol to a minor? This is a classic example of Walmart overreaching and trying to parent / regulate something that is not their business. It is the only show in town so I will be purchasing alcohol there again, but I had better see the policy POSTED in a clearly VISIBLE PLACE if I am questioned by any cashier about this again. read more

I'm surprised at the negative reviews here. As a local , I shop here often and at the KMart next door. Neither WalMart or KMart are my favs, but it's what there is in this area. I've never had a problem at this WalMart and don't have a problem with the products or employees. The only complaint I have is the table linens (napkins, tableclothes, placemats) are lacking in variety and stock-but KMart neat door helped me out. It's WalMart. Checker forgot to put two greeting cards in my bag, but charged me. I'm not from the area, so by the time I noticed I was already back in the Bay Area. First I emailed Walmart and got no response, then I called the store and they said I had to come in to get my money back. I asked if I could send an email with a copy of the receipt and he said no. Nice way to do business. I know they would be able to find a record of my transaction, but I guess that's too much trouble for them. I won't be shopping there again on my next visit or recommending them to anyone. That is what I call poor customer service. We went into the auto center for a simple oil and tire change. What we got was an afternoon of stress and frustration. After an hour's wait, only then did they decide to tell us that they couldn't change the oil due to the mud that had built up on the underside of the car. This news came as a surprise but they really topped it all off with the confession that they broke the driver side window. Yeah, you read right, they BROKE OUR WINDOW. Sure, everyone makes mistakes but they didn't make the slightest effort to repair it or at least compensate us for the damage. The young man who confessed to the damage appeared to be under the influence. He was lackluster at best and delirious at worst. All hope is not lost however, as we were able to repair the damage after a few hours at home. With an experience like this, we will certainly never come back. read more

This store seems to ALWAYS be out of stock. It's sooo frustrating to go there and often find either bare shelves or only one or two items of what you need. Walmart really needs to get it together with this store! I came to this site looking for their actual delivery days so I can find out which day of the week I should do my shopping on since I often feel like I'm completely wasting my time going there! There is absolutely no reason to let your stock get that low. ESPECIALLY when other than K-mart, you're the only store in town! I live in a rural area, and there aren't a whole lot of choices to shop for home goods. Perhaps that is why Walmart just doesn't care about keeping their stock up? Because they know they can get away with it. But they're also losing a ton of money when people can't buy what they need!! My husband even wrote Walmart corporate a letter complaining about our stores low stock but never even received a response. How rude! And very bad business! If there were some place else I could go without driving an hour to get there, I would. But unfortunately that's not the case where I live. Get it together Walmart or let the little guys come back in and show you how it's done!! read more

So I just went to Walmart and had a cashier tell my 45 year old mother that she could not purchase alcohol. Us being confused asked why? The cashier rudely told us she had the "right" to refuse selling us it. It was single bottle of rum... after asking again she told us that my sister and I (age 24 and 20) looked under age and she had the "right" to. Keep in mind my mother is the one purchasing the alcohol. At this point I am starting to get annoyed that she is being so rude to my mother. As she continued to check us out she told us it was a policy that Walmart had recently put into place. Okay, I understand policy is what it is and she was just doing her job. It was the fact she was so rude to my mother and sister that flabbergasted me. Before we left my sister asked her if a parent came in with his/her little children (17 and under) if she would sell them alcohol. Her response was yes because the parent could vouch that the child would not drink alcohol. From what I have found on the internet, if a group of people come in and someone appears to be under age they should refuse to sell the group alcohol unless photo idea proves the legal age is met. So Walmart I must insist that you inform all your locations that all staff are properly trained on new policies properly, that employees are trained to not be rude when someone honestly has no idea that there is a policy in place, and finally post signs in your alcohol department that this is a new policy because it was awful to be treated the way we were today by a women that in my honest opinion should not have been working in a customer related field. Funny thing- she didn't mention the survey that every Walmart employee usually reminds you of. read more

My Son had his oil and filter changed at Walmart . They overfilled by 2 gallons. He parked on our sloped driveway and in the morning discovered at least a gallon and half oil leaked out of the rear of the engine. He moved it to level ground and drained another half gallon out. Had he driven the vehicle on his intended trip he would have destroyed the engine. When my son went back to Walmart auto dept to tell them about this they were very rude. He asked the manager do you check to see how much oil you need to put in my vehicle and the manager said no we just fill until it is filled. He refunded his money but now we are left with a permanent stain in our driveway. Had this happened a few days before when we had a really bad rain storm we would of been dealing with an environmental problem instead of an incompetence issue Bottom line do not get your oil changed at Walmart. It is better to deal with real mechanics and not stock clerks that do not know what they are doing. read more
