So, let me tell you about Merrifield Garden centers. I have been to many many landscape and garden…read morecenters over the years. I know quite a few that have been put out of business because of the chain home improvement stores. When you go to Merrifield, you will be bathed in the amazing living variety that can be brought to your home, for indoors and outdoors. The selection is beyond anything I've ever seen, and the staff clearly loves the business. You can browse hundreds of plant and flower options indoors And they also have an amazing selection of patio adornments. The best was my experience today. I needed a garden hose adapter. Sounds simple enough, but this is so uncommon that all of the local chains didn't have anything, and one young man in an orange apron Ron suggested I just get it on Amazon. I stopped here at Merrifield, and they also did not have it in stock. But the gentleman at the counter Suggested that he'd be happy to make one for me if I wouldn't mind waiting for a few minutes. And he jumped into action, grabbing the hose and fittings that he needed and manufactured what I needed for me on the spot. That his old-fashioned service deserves a lot more than just five stars. Please bring them your business!

I know little-to-nothing about managing plant life and was trying to figure out how to fix some…read morepatchy spots on my lawn. I've heard great things about Merrifield and though I've visited before, I hadn't bought anything. I took some pics of my lawn, some of the current grass/weeds/plants growing and went to their help desk. It was mid-week, so not too busy. Craig was working the desk and so I don't bury the lead... he was AMAZING. I explained what I was trying to do, that I really knew nothing, and though I had done a little research, I didn't want to trust everything I had read/watched. He walked me through my options. I don't care much about what is growing, just that we have good coverage. Clover was something I was interested in. He explained the clover options as well as some low-maintenance grass options. He even spent a lot of time helping me understand about aerating since it was something I wanted to know more about. I decided to go with grass and clover, hoping a mix might balance between lawn and something for the pollinators. As the spots were relatively small, he said I could just hand spread, especially with the clover seeds being so tiny. While prices are a little higher than the big box stores, looking into this, the products seem to be of a higher quality. Luckily my issue was sort of small to start with so I felt it was a good investment.

I do love Meadow's Farm and this location is a nice little spot. Mind you they are not nearly as…read morestacked as their local competitor and this particular location is not as big as some of the other spots but it gets the job done. The parking is ample and they always have the place cutely decorated. As a whole, they have a decent selection and the staff is wonderfully helpful. They offer an educator discount, which I love, and I bet they would have a first responders discount but I am an educator so that's my focus, and I get a bday discount annually as well. I am a kid in a candy store when it comes to plants so I do wish they had an easier pricing display as it can sometimes be tricky to figure out a price. I recently got a French lavender, which IYKYK, where the competitors did not have any and yes, there is a big difference. As always peeps, please support your local small biz! Cheers! 7/2/26

My kudos and thank you for the employees here. They know what they are doing. A lot of garden centers, don't feel welcoming in the area. These folks do. They are happy to help a rookie to a veteran. Also I would like to thank them, in helping me learning some new tricks. Price wise they are competitive. Definitely visit here and see for yourself.

Large selection of meats, especially pork products. They were unfortunately out of double yolk eggs which we were curious to try. The bakery section was excellent, especially since they had a no sugar added apple pie that turned out to be delicious. We also bought donuts for the family. Not sure if we'll ever be in Maryland again, but will stop at Miller Farms if we do.

The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.
