    Have you worked with Meadows Farms on a large-scale project? Did you deal with Sanford Silver or one of their key accounts managers or designers? If so, I want to talk to you about reviewing your contracts and invoices for potential accounting issues. We hired Meadows Farms for a multi-year, high-dollar landscaping project based on trust and their reputation I remembered growing up in this area. During the project, I uncovered massive overcharges, unauthorized work, and deceptive billing. Their senior manager of 35 years, Sanford Silver, misused company resources for personal gain, invoiced unauthorized projects, and even solicited fraudulent charitable donations. Jay Meadows and senior leadership had no idea what their people were doing or where their equipment was. Without any oversight, who knows how many other people were affected like we were? If we hadn't uncovered this and brought it to their attention, this would still be happening. I presented clear evidence to Jay Meadows, the owner of Meadows Farms. He immediately fired Silver, promised to address the accounting, and then went silent for two months. When I met him for breakfast to follow up, Jay refused to investigate further, denied responsibility, and walked away. If I hadn't exposed this, Sanford Silver would still be employed and defrauding customers. If you've done a large-scale project with Meadows Farms, especially with their key accounts managers or designers, check your invoices. If you suspect overcharges or discrepancies, contact me--I can help review your contracts. This wasn't a mistake. It was systemic fraud, and Meadows Farms' leadership refused to make it right or even look at my accounting and invoices.

    How about improving on honesty. You planted a crepe Myrtle in our front yard last summer (2023). I called in Sep of that year to complain there were no blooms. Response was it's a late blooming Myrtle so give it time. Well it's Sep 2024 and we have maybe 6 blooms. All on 1 side. The tree looks spindly and stick like. Your customer service said to put blooming fertilizer on it because your warranty doesn't cover blooming, only dead trees. That's nuts. Myrtle's all over the place are in full bloom. So we have an ugly Myrtle. (Apologies to those named Myrtle). Wanting to improve our new home with color we have nothing. Our neighbors are surprised it's not warranty covered. My next letter and photo will be to the BBB.

    I went(10/1/23)to meadows farm nurseries to claimed my 2 emerald green arborvitae at under warranties. I took photos of 2 dead trees to show them as proof, the lady told me that it was the same tree not two different trees. I chose not to argue with her because I knew I wasn't lying. I wish she should have just shut her mouth and not said anything she made me sounds that I'm lying. Maybe she's racist towards asian!

    We are very pleased with the mulching project we had done a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to wait til the bulbs began blooming. The crew was very careful abut the bulbs and existing flowers. The work was excellent. We highly recommend Meadows Farms. We have worked with them for a number of years and they never disappoint.

    I love this nursery, the plant prices are always reasonable, there's always good sales on select things, and the staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They take pride in their offerings and establishment, it's pretty clean and organized with all things considered. The variety of plants is astounding and they have all the gadgets/required accessories to get any beginner gardener started.

    I've purchased three River Birch Trees from Leesburg Meadow Farm Nursery with Delivery and plant all three trees. Everything went well until my irrigation system came on and there's a shooting water near where one of tree was planted. I contacted customer service, crew, equipment manager Grady Morris. I am all about giving credit where credit's due. Grady was nothing short of five star! His customer service and professionalism were beyond my expectations. It made my experience dealing with Meadow Farm Nursery's much more satisfying. I would recommend Meadow Farm Nursery to anyone.

    This is my third replacement bush from Meadow Farms.  Their green thumb is more like agent Orange.

    Revised review from previous. They came out and replaced my dead bush with a new and improved bush. My fingers are crossed that this one will prosper. Good customer service and they obviously care about their reputation. Thank you.

What the pictures don't say however, are all of the little nuances and seams that Ed successfully trouble shot along the way. In a word, it was complicated! In the end, the project turned out to be visually stunning and flawlessly executed. He built one retaining wall from scratch along a stretch of land with significantly changing elevation and seamlessly extended another that was in great shape; but you'd never know from looking at it that it was extended. Perhaps most importantly, my project had some quirky drainage challenges bc it is a legacy home in a hilly area. I'm not exaggerating when I say when we get a heavy rain, it doesn't matter where the water lands. It all goes right to the drain! I attribute this to the fact that Ed set up the elevation strings to retest the pitching at multiple stages in the project. Almost compulsively--which is what you want in a contractor! Lastly, Ed and his team showed up literally every weather permitting week day from the day they started until the day they finished.     Just got my backyard cleaned out and re-graded and was in need of some sod. Called up Chantilly…read moreTurf Farms and got about 10 pallets (6000sqft) delivered right to my doorstep. Had my landscape guy put it in, in about 2-3 hours with a bit of hand grading to make sure everything was flat. Sod was delivered on time and it's been about a month and it's looking good. Pulled up a few rolls to see if the sod was taking and sure enough it's starting to sprout down. Good experience, quick delivery and sod was very fresh when delivered (underside soil was well saturated with water). So far so good.

When I got my yard ready for the sod i called ahead to get 16 rolls and that's when I was told that the price is $6.50. Still not a big deal. The problem is the sod that I got was dead. When I arrived home and started laying the sod i discovered that half of the rolls were already dead. I called right away the office and was told that it's because it was too hot and that if I keep watering it it will come back, I was only offered to return the rolls that same day and that they don't honor any return after that. The problem I was already tired and I already returned my friend pick up truck that I used. I also noticed that the rolls were not there size they were supposed to be, the were 4.5ft instead of the regular 5ft. When I called the office and said that I wasn't happy about the product, the lady told be that she will report me to the BBB because they are a member and that I shouldn't write a review. Attached are there pictures of the short rolls and the dead sod when I just installed it. Now 2/3 of what I installed is dead. The Lady also told me that it's impossible that the roll is short because it's machine that cuts it. I tried to explain to her that the machine is set by a human and they can put and length for the cut. Bad customer service and bad product. I don't like to write bad reviews but I had to this time. Look at the dirt color from the sod in the pickup bed!

On this recent visit, I picked up a few rolls of screen and the required tools. After browsing the site, I was a little torn between the "pet" one and the "insect blocking" one and the "Sun protection" one. Since the birds tend to bite through old screen, I definitely needed something strong. I decided to hunt down a Home Depot employee just as a sanity check. The one I came across seemed a little clueless and wasn't very helpful in selecting the one I need. I avoided going to the checkout counters and went straight to self-checkout. I usually rely on their website to locate specific items. It is much easier to find something as long as the correct location is selected. The aisle and bay number will be listed on the site. In the past, it was always hard to find someone to help find something or provide advice for a project. This Home Depot location is nice, but is located in a very busy shopping center. There is plenty of parking designated solely for Home Depot.
