Hidden gem! Absolutely love this nursery and the people that work there are friendly, knowledgeable and amazing!! Wish I'd discovered the friends here and the beautiful quality plants years ago!! And can we just talk about the database they have that shows if item looking for is in currently in stock (along with a "notify me" option if it's not!!! Service is great, selection is outstanding, value for money is impressive. Whatever I buy from Watermark Woods has been a valuable addition to my garden. My yard is buzzing with pollinators in the warmer months, and birds live on my property year-round thanks to finding food and shelter with the native plants I bought from here. read more

I love this native plant nursery and I am grateful to have them so close. They have the best and broadest selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and they often carry several sizes of the same plant, so that there is something for everyone's budget. Very organized plants to shop through. I appreciate that they keep a strict relationship with the growers they work with to ensure the species they sell are native. Not to mention I get sucked into their little gift items too, made by local artist. Check out their emails for updates on all the plants they have on hand before you head in. They make it easy. read more

Watermark Woods - Native plants I purchased from Watermark Woods. - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Hamilton, Virginia

I can't say enough wonderful things about this company! They have so many wonderful native plants to choose from. Even if there is something that I can't find Julie has been able to find it. I have transformed my yard to a beautiful native paradise! she has helped give me so many recommendations that I couldn't get from other local nurseries. Any questions I had she helped me find the answers. You can't get this kind of help and information at any other nursery. The plants were also half the other price from other nurseries. Once you go to Watermark you won't look anywhere else! read more

I am so happy that I found Watermark! They have an amazing variety of native Virginian plants with information cards on all of them (I learned so much just walking around). The prices are fair, being a bit expensive on some and cheap on others. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable about the plants. I purchased some flowers and grasses which are all very healthy and filling out their new plantings. I'd recommend coming here for landscaping plants, fruiting trees and bushes, and an array of beautiful flowers that are all truly meant to be growing in Va. read more

Excellent selection of native plants and some native cultivars to this region! It's such a pleasant experience to visit this nursery surrounded by tall trees and excellent, friendly customer service that I've already visited several times from DC. It's no problem to bring kids as the nursery has magical gnome areas and gives out free tokens to feed the chickens at the nearby chicken coup. The plants I get here are robust and very healthy. The online database is also extremely informative and helpful for researching, designing, and planning out parts of my garden in advance. The database also tells you exactly what's in stock and which aisle of the nursery plants are located, so you can make it a very efficient visit if desired. Watermark Woods is my happy place! The helpful staff will assist with shade/sun loving plant selection. They have the best selection of native Va plants I have ever seen. The prices are reasonable. You can even join Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy to receive a discount card you can use here. They truly have thought of everything with a "Little Free Library," and even a bathroom! Additionally, the gift shop has a very wide selection of curated items you can't live without. The kids will also love the gnome village on display. I seriously cannot say enough good things about this place! read more

Great service. Great Selection. Wonderful helpful people. It is wonderful to have this resource in Virginia for Native Plants.

I met Julie, the owner, at a Native Plant Sale. She was so personable and helpful with information regarding the plants - so patient and not annoyed at all by my many questions (because I am new to gardening, especially native plants). read more

A great find. Specially is native plants. This is a small nursery at owners home. Hours are limited but it's worth the trip. Owner really knows her plants, very friendly and helpful. A trip to this nursery, Abernathy & Spencer in Lincoln, and Meadow Farms in Leesburg make for a great gardener's day. read more

We've been regular patrons of Watermark for about 3 years now. Julie and her staff are all wonderful, friendly people, and so full of plant knowledge. Everything we've bought has thrived in our yard and somehow my husband just keeps finding room for more so we go back at least once or twice a month. Julie also got us interested in expanding our plant selections in our yard to attract and support a wider variety of pollinators. We've had more varieties of butterflies and bees visit this year than ever before. In addition to the nursery, there's also a small store with a variety of books, native plant wares, and my favorite - handmade pottery by Julie. Highly recommend Watermark Woods to everyone! read more

Watermark Woods - Monarch Butterfly seen at Watermark - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Hamilton, Virginia

The best place around for native plants. Julie is so helpful. Forget big box stores and plant natives!

This is a cool, hidden place with limited hours (I think they're open like 2 days a week) and like Ellmore's, it's the "real deal" in regards to being a small business. They specialize in native plants and no chemicals. Supposedly Abernethy is herbicide (bee killer) -free, but you always wonder about stock that isn't grown there... I don't have that worry with Watermark Woods. I absolutely trust their plants to be environmentally safe. Also, if you're looking for shade plants, they have a great selection of neat ones here. read more

Julie is knowledgeable about her plants-- and enthusiastic! You'll catch the native plants bug. I just took a propagation plant class there-- really fun!-- and came away optimistic that even I can produce plants from what I've already got. But I don't want to put Watermark out of business. I'll be back often to stock up. Watermark is a welcome relief from most of the plant sources in the area. read more
