This is a brand new setup. A non Walmart store was located just inside the entrance. They are gone. Rather wisely Walmart has taken over and made a seasonal overflow store. It's currently full of Halloween candy. After that it will be filled with Thanksgiving things; then Christmas and so on. This Walmart and all of the others I've seen are pressed for floor space. Late night stop as I'm between Charlotte and Atlanta. This Walmart tolerates overnight parking in their lot and I'm traveling in my Sprinter RV. After visiting the clean men's room, I stopped in the snacks aisle to pick up something for later and for the rest of my drive. Decently stocked at 8pm and the self-checkout worked well. The parking lot was loud with lots of people coming and going. But that's not an issue if you're not planning to get a night's sleep. This Walmart Has the WORST service out of any walmart ive been too. NOBODY i mean NOBODY picks up the phone. The AC is broken so they have multiple fans insode running trying to corculate air flow. No department has a worker. But u see a single pallet with 3-5 workers trying to stock 1 pallet. Call for help in a department and no one comes. Call again and no one. Grocery department has so many things out of date its redicolus. Theres always multiple workers standing around playing on phones and cutting up with eachother like the manangment aint doing there job. Dropped by because I needed a pair of running shorts to run from the police while I'm out of town. I searched for a Walmart nearby and, to my astonishment, I saw three successive one star yelp reviews for this walmart. I felt a personal sense of obligation to restore the coldly assassinated reputation of this walmart location, even though I hadn't even been there at this point. While checking out, I got the privilege of watching a manager heroically train a new employee to give a customer their cash back when the register opens. I was so moved it brought a tear to my eye. I frequent this Walmart because there isn't much of an alternative around here and it's pretty bad. As far as groceries, they are usually well stocked, but things like yogurt have to be checked. I've seen so many expired yogurts, sometimes being weeks expired, still on the shelves. The fruits are often bad and that general area has lots of gnats and flies. If I have time I always try to get fruits and veggies somewhere else because they aren't the best. My biggest problem though is that in other areas of the store they are always out of the most popular items. That one shade of makeup you always wear? They're out of it for a month. The brand of diapers you always buy? They won't have it in for several weeks. The many otter boxes that that fit your iPhone have an obvious place to be displayed but they haven't had any hanging there for half a year and you're not quite sure if there were ever any there to begin with. Wear a size medium in women's clothing? Good luck finding anything at all because they apparently haven't learned to buy slightly more of that size. Don't get me started on the restrooms. I can't speak for the men's, but in the women's you basically have to check each stall and pick your poison. Will it be the toilet covered in blood, or the one with the floater stinking up the place? I don't think the floor employees can be blamed, they get 5 stars for always being friendly and trying to make my 3 year old smile. This place is just horribly managed and understaffed. read more

This Walmart location is the worst. Having to go there is not only a headache it make me so mad. I go on the 3rd. Payday for most disabled people. They have one person working a normal register and three people watching the self check out area. I buy about $150 worth of stuff. Everything I'll need for the month. So doing it myself really isn't a good idea. Most of the time I dont get what I need because the items aren't in stock. Walmart will be getting a rating of 2 today from me. For the simple fact, I saw a muscle guy being pulled into the store by what looked like a pit bull. No, this was not a service dog. So I parked where I could see them come back out. It didn't happen. While waiting, I called into the store. I was told that a service animal could be in there. I stated that was no service animal. Gaffney's hang out place 1. There really isnt much in this town, which makes you appreciate the things they do have. IT IS HUGE. I guess this is the place where everyone gets everything they need. I bought everything I forgot to bring on my trip. This happens a lot when I go on trips, and walmarts are always there to save me. I ordered a Nintendo switch from Walmart.com and went to this location to pick it up, well they said it wasn't ready yet so the associate and I went back to the electronics dept to see if they still had one, sure enough they did, had only one, now keep in mind that I've already paid for this item, I ask if I could just get it from the shelf and be on my way but the lady said "you can't have that one because someone may come in and want it". I'm standing there in front of her wanting it!!! Already paid for it!!! The company builds a atmosphere that can supply anyone and the they flush out all of the small business competition and then when you go in to buy a product it takes forever to get checked out. There's only a single register open for 300 customers on premise while 6 employees stand around up front with nothing to do except view customers get frustrated and go toward the self check out that only accepts credit cards no cash. Customer service TAKES FOREVER!!!! Just thinking about it makes me so mad. It is unacceptable how long it takes. They ALWAYS have one person working back there with 20 to 30 people waiting in line. And you just stand there and watch as tons of other employees who aren't doing anything walk back and forth. And mangers who could be helping just stand to the side and talk to someone. I really think they do it on purpose. Also, don't even bother asking an associate to help you find something because they will have no idea where anything is even though it's their department and they literally work there everyday. worst walmart in u.s.!! i have never seen a walmart so rude and anti-customer. 8 out of 10 employees have an attitude. i have lived and shopped at walmart from california to fl to ny and other states all over this country. there are 5 walmarts within 20 mins from my house in gaffney sc. i drive to the stores further away most of the time, because gaffney walmart is a waste of time. gaffney is by far the worst of the 5 stores. the receipt nazi's stop you after you check out $400 of merchandise yourself. now it's time to wait in line again, (to leave) then dig out and scan what i bought and my receipt. here's a thought hire cashiers. no cashiers has been a problem for this store for almost 20 years. seems to be plenty cashiers at other walmarts with self check outs. locking you in with gates, you must exit through a front register lane after leaving the pharmacy. i have always walked out main door corridor after picking up meds. not anymore, disabled customers forced to go further to get out. csm refused to let me out, after being told i was disabled. all she had to do was trigger gate open but would not. other walmarts have gates but do not close them. if walmart has a theft problem hire employees to deal with it!! stop taking my time for granted with receipt nazi's & closed gates to exit door at 10:30am!!! dry dog food is always sold out. bare shelves are ridiculous, always sold out. merchandise must be thrown around by stockers, boxes and canned goods are always beat up and dented. ****do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else.**** read more

I love Walmart but the one in Gaffney can never have scooters for the handicap people they are always broken or not enough for the people that REALLY need them!!
