Possibly vendors like the Golden Flake Man are short staffed or short of product. These products don't depend on the Dollar General warehouse and are independently handled. What about cat food? It's not made in China nor is it held up by supply chain issues. I stopped by three of these stores today and all had mostly no cat food or other related products. Either the nearby Dollar General Warehouse is out or store managers aren't ordering it! The local grocery store is not short on cat food neither is the Family Dollar Store. What gives? I just don't know! Dollar General Stores are recommended by me unless your cat is hungry!

They did with me as I visited my hometown of Chesnee, SC over the Christmas holidays. Chesnee isn't much to look at. It is home to about 3000 people. The average income is probably about 30k per person. Someone wrote several grants a few years ago and they have tried to make the area more visually appealing by adding small parks, bricked sidewalks, and some trees downtown. I noticed, as I drove through town, that the economy has caused some places to go out of business. The owner of one of the "dress shops" is retiring and closing the business after 80 years. Twin State Auto, owned by a local boy who achieved some fame back in the 50's with a hit record, has burned and isn't being reopened. The local laundromat is closed with a "for sale" sign on the door. Although I didn't go in, I noticed the furniture display in the windows of C J Harris Furniture. I wondered if Mr. Harris is still alive and if not, is his son running the shop? I can remember buying appliances here when I first graduated from college. I remember that my grandmother told me that they would do "6 months same as cash." Since I always had to wash the dishes at home while growing up, I can remember that one of my first purchases was a GE dishwasher. What a great investment! Through the years, I became fairly successful and didn't have to buy things through the "6 months same as cash" plan anymore; however, I still purchased things from Harris Furniture and Appliance. Sometimes they were a little more expensive than the big chains but I got far more than just furniture or appliances by buying from them. First of all, I was supporting the local economy but more importantly, I was buying from someone who knew my name, who would come out the same day to repair my appliances at a very reasonable price, and would deliver the very same day. I have never been disappointed. Thank God for small businesses in small towns; I hope they continue doing well!

I've passed this rather upscale ladies apparel store many times! After much consideration about what approach to take when entering here I just decided to be honest and tell the truth. A very genuinely nice lady welcomed me to the store and that sure put me at ease! I told her that I would like to take some pictures and do a Yelp review. She said that was fine. As I'm looking around the place I noticed ladies clothes that I could tell were above par. This is an upscale place on a Main Street that could pass for a Mayberry episode! There was also a jewelry case ( costume jewelry) that looked genuine! Nothing cheap or trashy looking here. I complimented the owner and told her I would tell my wife about place. I think she would like it! What a neat surprise this was! I recommend highly this store!

Since the recent horrific damage from Hurricane Helene, the town of Chesnee, S.C. has been in pretty much of a mess. Afterwards, I stopped here in the hopes of finding some much needed food as we lost two freezer loads of various items. Amazingly, the first thing I encountered when approaching this store was a Food Lion tractor trailer unloading desperately anticipated supplies. Thank You Food Lion for tending to the immediate needs of these good folks! Back to yesterday. I absolutely love Carolina Pride thick sliced beef bologna. Almost impossible to find. Not only did they have plenty of it ; it was on sale! I'm beginning to change my mind about this grocery store chain! Again; Thank You for being there for the Chesnee, S.C. Community!

I came in to get some milk and when I opened the refrigerator there was a strong smell of rotten…read moremilk, and milk gallons were all in milk, dry milk on the shelves and door jams. I spoke with a food-lion worker she said it happens. Like it's normal for them. Talk with the cashier about it he said I need to go talk next in command. Next day I talk with the manager Jason brought up the mess and the problem he said he will have the milk lady clean in the morning. This was 9:30pm 4/29/2026 there was no attempt on doing something right away to get the place sanitized. I understand that I was not heard and nothing was done to fix the unsanitary problem.

Just like a lot of folks, over a period of time wasting money on furniture that doesn't last we learned the lesson: Don't go cheap buying furniture that's inexpensively made. It's a better value in the long run to buy household furniture that's made to last! Amelia's has really made us happy with this piece! So much so that we returned and purchased an extremely well made sofa and TV stand. There was an issue with the two delivery guys who wanted twice the agreed price to bring this huge and heavy piece into our home. We paid up; they honestly earned their money ; this was a tough job even for two big delivery guys!
