As I was about to leave my eye caught something I couldn't resist. At least three pallets of twelve pack ( different flavors and caffeine levels ) Black Rifle Mocha Chocolate Expresso. I checked the expiration dates and all were good and only 4.99 for twelve cans. I purchased a case of the mocha chocolate. Each can contained 200mg. caffeine. I tried a can when I got home and it was outstandingly good! Unfortunately for me; this stuff had a kick like an angry mule! It really got me out of my Lazy Boy recliner! I literally cleaned our entire house then went outside and cleaned and polished the rims on my pickup truck! Not kidding! Every wife should give their husband one can each day! First impressions upon a walk-in: the store is clean, uncluttered and what is there looks just like the retail store. I really dislike outlets that go for the "Marshalls" effect by stuffing as much as possible on every inch of rack space. Luckily J Crew abstains to great effect. The clothing is racked and displayed such that you never feel closed in or that you need to go "bin surfing" to hope you can find a size or color. It's all quite attractive and welcoming- score one for the merchandising guys. On my handful of visits in, clothing options were always primarily "looking forward" to the next season. For example: shorts out in February and a distinct lack of sweaters or outerwear. Sure this means the total number of options will be more limited, but J Crew has always had a knack for focusing on quality rather than quantity and it's nice to see that in a factory store too. I also thought the deals were quite strong too. While the MSRP rivals normal retail or catalog prices, my weekend visit not only featured specific sales that were strong all by themselves, but the staff also handed out coupons for an additional 20% off. 50-60% off total? Yes, please! Staff will be helpful if asked, but otherwise remain pretty hands-off. That's okay with me. They will pull a size if you are in the dressing room, but other store traffic can overwhelm them at times. All I spoke with have been friendly here. In all, this store alone is a reason I will travel to this mall and it is always a must-stop. When passing through town, it's worth a stop in.

Yes, at times customers are greater in number than cashiers...that is a universal problem. However I have found the staff friendlier than most stores. Courtesy on the part of a customer can make a big difference in a store clerks reaction, even when they just had a bad experience with previous customers. As far as the available merchandise, it's one of the best Marshalls stores I've visited. I no longer live in Spartanburg, so I'm shopping other locations. Several have far less than than this location. So when I visit Spartanburg and have time, I will make a stop at Marshall's. It is the thrill of the hunt, and I'm not often disappointed.
