Sure the selection is not as robust as the dollarama, but they have similar items but also different items which are unique to this brand's chain. I like organization style/ layout here. It's easy to find party supplies and favours, and I like how they have a teachers/children's education supply section. They also have a decent selection of stickers for crafting which gives the big chain craft stores a run for their money. Something I appreciate about here is that they have a public washroom. It's nothing amazing, no change table or anything, but it has saved me from potty accidents with my kid. I was also happy that they've accepted credit card as payment since they've opened. My only qualm about this location is that there only seems to be one cashier active each time I go, however, the wait has always been only a few minutes at most for me. The best part here is that you can buy helium foil balloons here for a lot cheaper than you would at big chain party stores. Just make sure to tie it down or buy a weight for them so they won't fly off when you leave! I should also mention that the parking lot near this store is never full, but you do have to watch for oncoming traffic as the store & parking lot is divided by a lane where most of the cars enter & exit the area.

I walked in at 8:55pm knowing what I was running in for and also knew exactly where it was, I would have been no more than 2 minutes in and out. I was "greeted" by an older lady with "Uh, sorry were closed" I than said no you are not you still have 5 minutes. She proceeds to say "not accordingly to our watch, store is now closed." My boyfriend than said "we can't just grab a pop?" She said "no we are closed" ...excuse me? I don't know what clock you are on lady but it was 100% 8:55... I than start walking to where I was going to purchase my item and the other girl near the till yells to her coworker in a complaining tone "ugh, she's going anyways!!" And the older lady began saying something under her breath to her coworker so my boyfriend said "let's just go, they are being a**holes" so I turned around and was leaving when a few more people were trying to get in and she yells "excuse me we are closed" another lady was taken back by how the lady had said it and also knowing they still had a couple minutes.. I understand that people walking in with 5 minutes before close can be frustrating but you do not treat customers in such a disgusting rude manner....I don't think this lady should be in customer service. You do not push people out of the store when it is not 9pm yet...you are still technically open. no matter how bad you want to go home you shouldn't kick people out like that...there was no apology, no nothing except rude ignorant attitudes all around. I am super unimpressed and will not be shopping here again.

#200th Review! I…read morethought I had to do something special for my 200th review so why not review best spots in the City! I have lived close to Whyte Ave all of the time I have lived in Edmonton. Whyte Ave is one of the hottest destination spots in the City. It is host to some cool and unusual shops: Great restaurants and nightclubs/bars. Quirky shops. The Farmers Market, A great library in a historical building, Host to many great festivals and events, and so much more. Whyte Ave is also always evolving which makes it vibrant and fun. If you want to know what is happening on Whyte Ave and in the area check out the Old Strathcona Business Association website and event calendar. You can also see what sales are going on and maybe even find a job! http://www.oldstrathcona.ca/

There are lots of great stores (some of which are pretty unique too!) and restaurants. It's a colourful place with an interesting crowd depending on what else is going on in the area. I've been here for parties, festivals, special events, theatre and more! It is quite popular with the university student crowd. That said, it's imperfect: some of what makes it awesome is also what causes issues: it's a pretty popular place with the late night crowd and can get very busy/crazy on occasion. Additionally, these events/festivals can cause trash and whatnot. It's busy enough that parking can be limited and transit from downtown is sometimes awkward. But it's a great destination to reach on foot. And there is reasonably good transit to this area. I definitely recommend a visit, particularly during the summer months.

No matter what grocery store you walk in, there is always the produce department close to the entrance... there is a reason for that.. know what it is? Apparently it highlights your sense of smell.. much like in a bakery when you smell freshly baked breads. The store layout is pretty much the same as any other Walmart store . I lbook for deals and sales and generally buy dry goods and dairy etc . If there is a sale on meats then I will buy some. But I do like that some of the staff members remember you as a frequent shopper and might not know me by name but they always say hello . Bathrooms can be cleaned more often though. Now when it comes to check - out , if I am at a cashier I already have calculated how many bags I need. Can not stand it when they put so little in one bag and give you so many plastic bags ( I gotta remember to bring my own ). I can put a lot more in one bag than they ever thought.. and yes they are stronger than you believe. Other than that, this store has plenty of parking and is close to other retailers and banks. The area is called Harvest Pointe and has been developing surrounding areas and is getting busier all the time. But still overall a good store to go to if you live close by .
