As a Walmart associate myself, I am very frustrated with the level of service I received at this store. I was traveling with my partner, her 5 year old daughter, and our dog when I discovered we had a flat tire that had no hope of getting us all the way home. A quick search on Maps and I found this Walmart. We get there and I ask if they can squeeze in a tire repair, and I was quoted an hour and a half. I did not have any issue with this since they were busy and I was asking to get squeezed in the schedule. I got everyone out of the car, we got snacks, and hunkered down to start waiting. The vehicle did go in at about the time they quoted, but it very quickly went downhill from there. It took about 15 minutes for them to dismount the tire and come out to tell me that there were two holes in the tire, one patchable and one not. They asked if I wanted the one patchable hole patched. I asked for the tread depth measurements, since I was going to be looking at replacing the tire. The associate hadn't measured the tire. I had to wait for him to come back with the measurement. The treadlife was still enough that I could get away with replacing one tire, so I asked what they had in stock. He didn't have anything pulled up and I had to wait again for him to come back with options. In addition to being a Walmart associate, I was also formerly a Master Service Advisor, certified through Ford Motor Company. It is completely inexcusable to not have tread measurements ready and tire options ready when you know there is an unpatchable hole in the tire. I got the impression that they were fully expecting me to patch the one hole and drive home on the other, which not only dangerous is also extremely poor customer service in general. I chose my tire and went back to waiting. I also wasn't given the warning about replacing only one tire, which I thought was industry standard. 45 minutes later, someone else came out and told me they were doing paperwork. Mind you, the tire was already dismounted. It should not have taken more than 15 to 20 minutes to mount, balance and install the new tire to the vehicle from this point. More than a half hour after that, the car finally exited the shop. I paid my bill and loaded everyone back up in the car to find that the tire light was still on. I was thoroughly over being at that Walmart so I drove to the nearest gas station to get air and found that the brand new tire they installed did not have air in it. It had 14 PSI, which is about standard atmospheric pressure. As someone who works for Walmart and at a location where the Walmart way is actually followed, I am extremely disappointed in my experience here and will not ever come back to this Walmart, associate discount or not. read more
