I did a fair amount of additional research and then went to Olson. They provided four great options. All would need to be ordered and would arrive within 3-4 days. I also went to a big chain tire store. The chain provided two of the same options that Olson had. Olson was way less than the dealer (of course) and their price for the exact same tire was less than the chain tire store, as well. Brought the car in today. Received a loaner. They found an issue with the tire pressure monitor (which has been an issue with my car). They diagnosed it and tried a couple of things. It appears to be fixed. The diagnosis and "fix" did not cost a thing. The best place in Wausau for tires and auto service. Also, their body shop is top notch!

I brought the car back the next day for the brakes. They explained all of the options about what was needed now and what could wait a while. They ordered the parts, and fixed it while I waited the same day. They did a great job. More was needed than I expected, but my car is pretty old (but in fantastic shape), so I was not surprised. Their labor prices may be a bit higher than some of the smaller shops in town, but not much different. I echo the other posters here about their customer service. It was professional and friendly. The waiting room is sufficiently comfy if you have to wait a while. Also, they have really fast free wi-fi; I was able to get some work done while I waited. It will definitely become my go to place for oil changes and basic car repair work.

This is the only place I've ever such bs from. They never told me their machine couldn't do low profile tires with out damaging the wheels and then let a paying costumer leave without informing them of the damage. These were expensive wheels from a 50k car. Would not reccomend this place to my worst enemy.

Service advisor said it would be over 1000 dollars and if I didn't want it that I pay 85 for them telling me what a ridiculous, twice as much as VW dealer would charge. They had my car so I paid the 85 and want them to know they lost a customer for now unless something happens. Why did I not be told 85 bucks just to see if they can do a job?

I had a problem with a tire and I was a bit concerned (I have fairly unusual tires that are difficult to find). They took it, diagnosed the problem in about 15 minutes and it turned out to be something very minor. While I was there I had them do some routine maintenance (oil change, air filter, tire rotation, etc.). I was in and out in about 90 minutes and the price was very reasonable. The seem like good, honorable mechanics. Also, their online appointment system worked flawlessly. I set a time, they offered a different time (just two hours later), they confirmed by text and email and were ready and waiting for me when I arrived. So often those online/electronic systems do not work. This was terrific. I will be back.
