First off, I HATE Walmart and generally do not patronize them. In Barstow, it's the epitome of desperation and run with the knowledge that there are no other options for people who are reliant upon public transportation. They flourish based upon a decimated economy. So saying that, I found myself in need of tires and I was unable to get any appointment, for several days, at Costco. Hence the forage to Wally World. Surprise!!! The auto department is professionally run by competent people. They only had one 4-set of tires that fit, and they were in the criteria range. They were 65,000 mile, H rated. I prefer 80,000 mile V rated, but these would do. The price was comesurate. They installed them within the hour and I was out of there. I did start to enter the store for a sec, but thought better of it when I saw nothing but locked cases. Ugh. Anyway... it was a good tire shop experience. read more

Ridiculous they had told my husband he could come in for an oil change late and once he gets there tell him no. Gas isn't cheap to be doing that on top of them he's sick enough to be driving right now but needs the oil change. Work on your communication you guys are terrible.. NEVER GO HERE read more

I normally change my own oil but I didn't have the time one morning, I had places to be. So I went in at 7:30am since the shop opened at 7:00am. There were only 3 cars so I figured it wouldn't take long, especially for a simple oil change. 2 hours has gone by and I had to start canceling things. I went in just to cancel my order since I had things to do. The lady said it would be only another 30 minutes. So I held on and just waited. I didn't get my car out of the shop until 11:00am. By the time I was able to get on the road, I had to reschedule the rest of my appointments. No sense of urgency with these people! I understand they have work like everyone else but maybe inform people that the service is slow and It will take 3 plus hours for a simple oil change. read more

Service manager at at this auto center is incredibly unprofessional and rude as we came around 4:30 pm this afternoon , they close shop around 7pm he said that they were no longer taking in tickets because they had 6 cars ahead of us please keep Mind that all this time one of his employees had already made us make line for 10 minutes to pay, the cashier said that we had to go back and pay at the actually shop he started closing the doors and said that he was no longer taking tickets . He said we had to wait until next morning to have our car service, it's 4:30 pm and your actually time says you close at 7pm?? This is ridiculous, why would you advertise that online and post on your Walmart website you close at 7pm and no longer take tickets at 5:00, we arrived here at 4:30 pm and still waiting to speak to the supervisor .. read more

This is the worst Walmart I've ever dealt with. Tried to get an appointment for tires 5 times, each time they said I don't know if the staff will show up until the morning! What kind of business had no clue if their workers will show up the next day! So they say call in the morning. So I call at 8am and the guy says oh no you needed to call between 7 and 7:10am the times are all booked already. No one in the previous 5 calls could give me that info. In a small town like this they really don't care at all they know people have to shop there. I won't and recommend everyone support the small businesses Walmart is killing before all customer service is extinct. read more

Please update your tire hours. Drove there with a flat only to find out they close early now and haven't updated their hours of operation

Called ahead of time to ask if they can patch our certain tire, they said yes. I asked what time they close because we live about 45-1hr away and they said 7. We get there at 6:18 and they said they weren't taking anymore vehicles because it was late. Wtf? A freakin tire patch won't take that long. Why not say you close at 6. What made me mad is that we had to drive this far for them to say they're not taking anyone else 40minutes before their closing time. Oh and they had 0 vehicles being worked on at that time! Needed to get an oil change due to light turning on. Went in and there were 2 customers. Took approximately 20 mins waiting for our turn. Meanwhile another associate passed by the desk and one of their coworkers had a cart with groceries. As expected he would ring up their co worker which is understandable. Other customers took notice and lined up behind her and he rang them up as they started to come by knowing that we have been standing waiting to be serviced. Unfortunately by the time it was our turn, the original associate stated it would take an hr and a half wait. No wonder the average rating is 3 stars, I give it less due to the lack of customer service. There was even an associate sitting at the table by the couch area, when the main associate was out of the desk area and phone was going off the hook more than 9-10 rings, he didn't have a care in the world. I took my SUV in to get an oil change and the associates informed me it was a two hour wait . I didn't mind because I had grocery shopping to do so I was fine . I went back 2 almost 3 hours later to check on the status and the associate then tells me it will be another 1 hr and a half to 2 hours before my car will get pulled in. I canceled and left . Their work is great, quick, and hasn't failed me so far for the few times I've been in. I keep choosing to come here instead of other local shops because here they don't jack up the prices and they've always had the tired I need in stock. I only have 4 stars because I've had an encounter where the desk worker gave me misinformation about lug nut replacement, and another time where I got an unexpected nail in my tire and just wanted a plug, but was turned away because they stopped taking customers at 5, but it was 4:53 on my phone so that was a little disappointing. read more

I called the store and asked if they could change the oil on my truck and they said yes. I bring my truck down from Fort Irwin. When I got there, they told me they didn't have the oil filter for my truck and I would have to go to autozone, buy the filter and bring it back. When I told them they had lied to me and asked them how they were going make it right. They offered to give me a $2.09 discount for the install of the filter which is about the amount I would of spent on gas driving to get the filter. I left, went to Barstow tires and break where they got me right in and for cheaper than Walmart. Never again read more

I've used their auto center for years and they've always been sure to tell me they don't do appointments, they have now changed that and gave me dirty looks when I went into the auto motive entrance (which is now a employee entrance and I only saw the sign on my way out) and they were working on only 1 vehicle but since I didn't call for a appointment they are unable to assist me even though it appears they have openings, and you have to call same day to make a appointment apparently now. read more
