This park is amazing! Been to parks all around the US and some in Europe and many were awesome but…read morethis one is for all ages. Beautiful green grass at least in the spring. Nice bathrooms which for a busy Saturday was pretty well maintained and clean. Love the bench swings- sweet for 2 but big enough for a family of 4. Swings could be raised a little higher so feet don't drag. The piece de la resistance!!!!! The huge slide with the ropes to climb up on "designed for 5-12. 5 May be a bit young but it's nice to have a challenge for older kids (of all ages). There are so many plastic playscapes around the country that are "designed" for 5-12 whet a 9 year old won't be caught seen by their friends in it because it's a "baby thing". This was refreshing to see! Plus for so long our kids have been bubble wrapped and told to be careful we have decades of millions of wimps around. So nice to have a challenge! Good for development physically and mentally! Thank you TUSCALOOSA! Question... when and how do you access the parking lots. They were closed off which initially led me to believe it was a private park.

We as a community need our parks where we as a community can gather for rest and relaxation. Snow Hinton Park is a nice enough place to find a respite from the day to day grind of modern life.

I really enjoy coming to this hidden gem of a park. I go to parks for peace and quiet. I just want…read moreto vibe in nature . There are no sport fields here(yay!) There is not a playground here (sorry kiddos) but what you do find are many trails to walk and enjoy . You actually might not even see another person . This is a huge park with many trails intersecting one another. There are plenty of informative signs all around, benches and just tranquil scenery. How could you not like sitting beside a creek listening to the sounds of nature. Most parks miss the whole point of what a park is supposed to b. There is history around if you look hard enough . I have been twice so far and haven't seen all the trails yet. You will see turtles sunning themselves and colorful birds They have one bathroom at the entrance and a pavilion with picnic tables right beside the parking area. If you like nature (as I do!) , wildlife, and peace and quiet this is your jam. It is mine:) Now women word of warning I wouldn't come here by yourself straight up. The place is so huge and I'm sorry if you go on the long trails it could b dangerous. Just b cautious and observant. So this is a more of a wild park than people are used to. The parking lot is gravel. If you love to explore nature as I do! You should love it:) I love the history of this place which many parks erase or don't highlight enough (Alabaster cough cough) So take a water bottle, a snack, and love of exploring and go check this place out. Please though respect the park don't litter, and have some time in nature. Quietly please ... Some of us love to get away from the bustle of society and recharge in peaceful surroundings..I can't wait to go again :)
