Two large party rooms you can rent as well as exercise classes to take. The sheriffs department is also connected so it's very safe. I'm sure I haven't done it justice but if you think it's something you would like, ride by and check it out. It's located on Highway 216 in Tuscaloosa county.

They've got a full range of free weights and machines, including a pair of power racks and some equipment hard to find at other gyms. The belt squat machine is popular and not standard equipment in regular gyms. The hip extension for glutes is the same. Some cardio equipment (treadmills, stationary bikes, and rowing machines) round the place out. Two dedicated deadlifting stations are super convenient. You can't deadlift at every gym in town and, when you can (like at the Y), you've got to take some time to set the gear up. If you make some jurassic noises at Strong Inc, that's ok. You're not going to get thrown out (I'm looking at you, PF). The vibe is chill and friendly. People at most ranges of skill are there. The folks are focused on their workout, but without an attitude. Bryant, the owner, is super friendly. The drive up there is a mile or two further than some places but 100% worth it. Folks who discover Strong Inc. usually never leave.

It was such a treat to be able to work out at a gym for serious lifters only. The equipment and environment is geared most toward powerlifting, but as someone who does strictly bodybuilding-style training it worked out perfectly for me. They have plenty of dumbbells (I love that they have two pairs of many of the higher lb sets) and some great machines. It for sure is mostly men but it's nice to have the women's bathroom/ locker room always empty lol. Craig is so nice and the environment was super welcoming when I signed up. There are 6 squat racks which is for real crazy privilege for such a small gym. My only complaints are that- the smith machine doesn't go low enough, and the hip thrust machine is really not great (would be better if it were a glute drive). Highly recommend

The race they ran (walked) prior to the crossfit competition was very well organized and they gave special announcements/awards for several of the participants. The games themselves were well organized. They communicated very well how everything was going to be ran and where you needed to be and at what time. They kept everything flowing and finished on time (relatively close...delayed a little from the run prior to the event). Staff is friendly and worked the event very well, communicating with participants what they needed to do next and directed them to the next station, quickly, upon completion of the current event. THIS BOX IS A TRUE HIDDEN GEM…read more There is a quote on the wall "this place will change you if you let it." That saying doesn't lie. You will never find a more welcoming atmosphere, homey feeling place than this box. I evacuated to Alabama during irma and while here this place became my home, everyone from the owners Lance and Jamie to every coach and athlete at this box were amazing, beyond anything I could have asked for dropping in. This box is big, spacious, clean, well taken care of. Even with big classes there was never the feeling of stacking on top of each other during a workout. All equipment is well maintained and kept up from rowers, bars, the rig, wall balls, kettle bells, dumbbells, rings, everything is great. Every coach is well skilled and versed in the movements, modifications and willing to help you find the right thing to get the most of your workout. They encourage, coach, teach, and foster before, during and after the WODS. They take the time to get to know you, not once did I feel unwelcome, but always felt like this was just my normal box. I didn't miss a day of the 8 days I was here I loved it. One of the coolest things they have here to is a heart and passion for people and the community around including kids, and special needs. They offer kids Crossfit but also once a week have a special hour for kids with special needs come and they work with them in skills such as just walking up the steps, benching the PVC, sitting up on their own. It's truly amazing to see. The workouts are never the same, they encourage strength 3/4 times a week as well has everyone dreaded, my favorite running day WODS. Open Gym is also available during the day in which any coach there will help you with techniques that you're working on. If you're coming through town or near it I highly encourage you to seek this box out and become part of the amazing community and family this place fosters.
