There is about a .6 mile loop that's easy for any level of leisure walking or running. Also on the property is a storm shelter, which in Alabama, you definitely need! Plenty of parking too!

The huge slide with the ropes to climb up on "designed for 5-12. 5 May be a bit young but it's nice to have a challenge for older kids (of all ages). There are so many plastic playscapes around the country that are "designed" for 5-12 whet a 9 year old won't be caught seen by their friends in it because it's a "baby thing". This was refreshing to see! Plus for so long our kids have been bubble wrapped and told to be careful we have decades of millions of wimps around. So nice to have a challenge! It was a great place to go and get away from the college stress. My obvious favorites were bottle feeding the pigs and feeding the alpacas. It was always exciting to come each time hoping to see some baby animals. Tuscaloosa Barnyard also has themes and activities throughout the year like a pumpkin patch in October, lighting up the farm in December and Easter Egg hunts in April. It's not just fun for little kids, but also college students as well. They do sorority events like bonfire nights with s'mores and their farm is big with tons of photo opportunities. Writing this review makes me miss this place so much!! Some of my best memories of college were spent here.

The park is well lit at night and features free movies in the park in the Summer. Thorsby's Swedish Fest and Strawberry Festival are both held here. I encourage you to go to both. They are fun for the entire family. I really enjoy this park. It's a very pleasant place to unwind.

Our little man scored at least 3 goals and the coaches were friendly, organized and excellent at encouraging the little ones! Unlike the soccer fields off of Columbiana Road, this park did not have food truck/s or restrooms and using a porta potty with a latch that doesn't work is not among my favorite things. Still, this is a great park, convenient to my stepdaughter's house with an excellent set up for her children's soccer games!
