We drove through this town and the old town downtown was cute. Spotted 2 brewing company's and decided to go in one. It was not busy but it was a Monday afternoon. While taking a picture of my husband, a guy inside photo bombed our photo. We walked in and 2 guys were playing pool. I told the guy playing pool, i thought Santa was inside because that's who he looked like when he photo bombed us, lol. Bartender was great. Had a drink and chatted it up. Only bummed they didn't have food but we didn't come in thinking there was.

PROS: -local beers with local ingredients (like huckleberry!) -great location right downtown in Wallace (and a few hundred feet from "the Center of the Universe") -open, clean, and welcoming taste room -really great prices for a flight or pint -cheap growler fill days once a week -friendly staff -board games & cards to play -large windows to people watch -cute history and stories to learn CONS: -does not serve food (pretzels available or BYO-food) -not located in my hometown :( Well worth the detour off the highway!

Quick stop for a couple of beers and good service. No food at this place, just one snack available...and at moment I cannot recall what it was. Interesting historical info on the walls.

Who knew there would be not one, but two, craft breweries in tiny Wallace? Their beer is tasty, and SUPER AFFORDABLE! Wallace also allows to-go drinks, so even if you're just passing thru I highly recommend making a stop here. $10 growler fills and $3 beer. You won't find craft beer at a better price anywhere. Try the Strong Ale

Can't taste the marshmallows but mmmm mmmm huckleberries!!!! A must stop, the 1910 and huckleberry are to die for. This is so far my favorite Idaho brewery. Love all the beers they have something for everyone, it is in a great old building and the bartenders are happy to be there and talk about Wallace history, beer, and things to do in the area. The girl behind the bar started us on our NW Inland Ale Trail Quest, and the most fun two girls could have exploring breweries. They don't serve food, but the BBQ joint across the street if great.

Came over Lookout Pass, heading West, hit a patch of ice in the shadows on what appeared to be bone-dry pavement. Car went this way and that and after I straightened her up went by 5 cars and trucks on the shoulder who did not fare as well as The Baron. Everyone was outside of their cars/trucks and were just standing there, apparently waiting for help/tow-trucks. Not a good idea, as that's exactly were my final resting place would have been had I not regained control. Was does this have to do with the Wallace Brewery, you ask? A pint of Wallace is exactly what you need, if you find yourself in a similar situation, to calm yourself down after almost meeting your maker. Thanks, Wallace Brewery, I needed that pint! Even if you didn't experience a near catastrophic even, the WB is a great place just to take a break from your I-90 cross country excursion.

    Huck Shandy. Yummy and cold.

Stumpy (one of the brewers) was so gracious, stood and spoke with our friend who likes to make beer at home.

They Had Jack - 'nuff said…read more... SITREP My cousin Rikka and I wanted whiskey. SETUP I found this store. Simple to find. It's on the main drag of this town, just a few blocks from the hotel we were at. The "Liquor Store." Yes, pretty generic branding, but not out of the norm in a town that also has a restaurant simply signed as "Eats" and also a furniture store called "Furniture Store" a few blocks down. [Creative names don't abound here. They should call it "El Liquor Store" just to kick it up a notch.] She paid for it (I LOVE HER). Probably a few bucks more for a fifth than what I usually pay in Seattle or she pays in L.A. (minus 1-Star), but what can you do when you are hundreds of miles "deep into the stix." [I already had the mixers back in my room.] So there you go. [Some transactions are painfully simple and don't require "fluffy linguistic skills" to relay the ambiance of a room, or the presentation of an entree.] CONVENIENT FOR THE WRONG REASON I should also say that we came back here a second time when we were at the wake (for our uncle Jack - no relation to Jack Daniels) across the street at the Elks Lodge from El Liquor Store. I still don't think Rikka's dad or my mom (Jack was their oldest brother) knew of our little trek to spike our soda's and those of so many grateful cousins.... and our parents are not yelpers... sooo... *crosses fingers*... THE LOWDOWN We wanted Jack Daniels, we found it, and we got it in St. Maries. During a moment of high emotional need. [I'm sticking with that too.]

A pretty decent variety of the top shelves and the bottom shelves not marked up too horrible at all. They have the occasional special edition versions that come out which is neat to see in a small town. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They have limited mixers or chasers so if you're looking for that and/or beer or wine take a trip down the road to the grocery store to find a bigger selection. Conveniently located and good hours of operation - just make sure to check out holiday hours if planning around that.

CLBP is just on the north side of 90 adjacent to the Wallace RV park. The inside is very comfortable and inviting. It was quite busy at noon on a Saturday afternoon so service was a little slow. No worries though especially since there was a crowd because of the ladies homesteading gathering being in town. Weird but I didn't go with a flight this time. I started with a pint of the Pulaski Porter while SWPFTD went with the Mountain Top amber. Both were quite tasty. I ordered the French dip sandwich which was fantastic. SWPFTD had the Reuben which was also very good. Yes, I ate part of her sandwich. I wrapped up with a pint of the milk stout on nitro and SWPFTD had the blood orange IPA. The IPA didn't work for me but I never love the blood Orange. The milk stout was really good though. CLBP is a great stop in Wallace! If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you! I hope my confidence is not misplaced.
