I have been treated by Dr. Edwards for cataract surgery and am so pleased in so many ways. I am astounded at how clearly I see (20/15), at the vibrant intensity of colors, and that I can read with out any glasses. I opted for the Light Adjustable Lenses, and am very happy with the results. With just one small adjustment after surgery, he was able to fine tune my lens so I can read clearly, as well as perfect distance vision! Initially, Dr. Edwards took the time to explain the treatment options available for my cataracts, which allowed me to make an informed decision. Once treatment was started, he was very thorough and meticulous, explaining each step in the process along the way, from the surgeries to later office visits. The surgery was done at St. Mary's and I felt comfortable and relaxed for both visits. (One for each eye) I would highly recommend Dr. Edwards for cataract surgery. I have been seeing Dr. Hanson for the last 10+ years and have been very pleased with his surgery skills as well as diagnosing/treating my various problems. My issues ranged from: blurry vision (various times and reasons) cataracts, macular hole in each eye, macular degeneration, and having a STROKE in my eye during the stroke. I want to take a moment to tell you, you can have a stroke in your eye. I had never heard this. My other problem was I had no other signs of a stroke so I was going to wait another day to see if it would get better. I waited an hour and a half before calling the office to see if I could see the doctor. After all, what could he do. He determined I was having a stroke right now (although I felt fine just couldn't see out of the right eye). He told me to go straight to ER and he would call ahead and let them know what was happening. I was rushed in and given the vital injection need and then was air flighted to Spokane. Unfortunately, I lost the vision in my right eye, but the immediate action he took helped the clot from moving through the rest of my body. DO NOT WAIT. Conclusion: Dr Hanson is skilled in all these areas and I could not have asked for better doctor for my eyes. His staff from the receptionists to the tech staff are skilled, professional, and friendly. They all have supported me with their caring. read more

Dr Hanson did a great job on cataracts for both my wife and I. Two thumbs up but wait times can be lengthy. Where I do have angst is in the vision/optical dept. I ordered new lenses for my glasses and was told they would arrive in two weeks or so. I called two weeks after ordering and was told some folks have been waiting 2 months. I understand covid and supply issues but just be up front about it and allow me to decide whether I want to look at other options. It is now 3 weeks and no lenses. read more

I generally avoid writing poor reviews, assuming that perhaps the misfortunate experienced once was merely a bad day or a death in the staff or...well, who knows? But the several times I was examined and given eye drops, both the young men treated me as if I was a major inconvenience, as if, instead of having to communicate to an adult, they would rather be in the staff room sharing gossip. Dr. Lewis himself is thoroughly professional, and if I just had to deal with him, the visit would probably be excellent--today I had an appointment, and presented my health cards--the receptionist, took them as if they were something poisonous, said not a word to me, stared at her screen for a while, got up and walked away and spent sometime with someone else at the end of the office, still paid no attention to me, went into another office, sat down again and fiddled around with her computer. During this time, a customer in the crowded waiting room said to one of the staff that he had a 10:00 and it was already 10:30, and rather than explain or address the older person, he was merely ignored. (Clearly, management needs to think about the staff addressing patients as human being rather than tasks to get done ASAP). One of the staff looked at me and said good morning. The person dealing with me still said nothing--I cancelled the appointment that evidently someone misplaced, or was never made (although I had personally made it by phone) and have chosen to get my care elsewhere. read more

Very poor experience with Walla Walla Eye Center, wait times aside, my cataract surgery did not go well. In the pre-op prep at the hospital my cornea was badly scratched and was noted by the doctor when he talked to me prior to my surgery that day. He decided to still go ahead with the surgery which caused delayed healing and a painful recovery. I was also talked into a toric lens for my cataract, which I was told, would correct my astigmatism so that I would no longer have to wear glasses full time except possibly "cheaters" for close up reading. That was not the case and I am still wearing glasses full time. I was given lots of excuses for why my surgery was not a success but no solutions. I would not recommend this clinic. read more

At the end of last yr(2023) I called this eye center to ask questions & possibly set up an appt., which I did. I told the person on the phone that I had Medicare A & B, Medicaid & United healthcare dual complete dsnap & I read the rest of the letters to her. She said she would get back to me ,which she did a couple of wks later & said yes they took the insurance., I went in & let them take copies of my cards & the person at the desk said that the the UHC card & Medicare card was all they needed. I asked them are you sure you don't need my Medicaid card & they said UHC card had all that info. Several times I asked about my Medicaid card and NO ONE ever said they DID NOT take Medicaid. There were at 3 people that were up front at the desk. They talked amongst themselves & she came back & said UHC card had all the info. I had my eyes checked because of cateracts.I just got a bill for 261.99. NOW, they are saying they don't take Medicaid. I asked these people at least 5 or 6 times about my Medicaid card and again NO ONE said they DID NOT take Medicaid. We went back & forth yesterday on the phone & I was told NO MEDICAID & that I can make payments. I DO NOT have this money I told her, that's the purpose of me being eligible for Medicaid. She again said that I can make payments. She said she would get back to me if there were any discounts they could give me but they were already given to me that's why my bill is 261.99. They were at least HONEST when I asked about buying glasses from them & they said they don't bill insurance for glasses. It was THE ONLY TIME OF HONESTY ON THEIR PART. I will say this,,, the Dr I saw was very very nice & HONEST . I would like to tell the office people that deceivement IS DISHONESTY. MY ADVICE HERE at this Walla Walla eye clinic,, is get it in writing or ask why are you not taking ALL of my cards, which I did ask," don't you need a copy of my Medicaid card & again, they said, " everything they need is on the UHC card. In those times of me asking about my Medicaid card, don't you think that this would have been the perfect times to say," WE DON'T TAKE MEDICAID. I do. Again, this has nothing to do with the Drs., this has to do with the front desk people. I can't rate even 1 star for the front help because I would be, being dishonest. I was deceived, everyone, PLEASE don't be. Oh, they were nice. I'm not taking that from them, but honest, they were not. .....I had to add a star or this wouldn't send., So the star is for talking. read more

very rude receptionist. got ignored when I got up to the counter.she would not even look at my insurance card. .I asked to switch doctors was told in a very rude tone of voice that I can't see a different doctor . I did not get a appointment. will Never go back there . Would never recommend any one to go to this office. read more

Horrible costumer service. Took my daughter in and a worker named Jasmine was super rude to us. I've never dealt with someone with such horrible costumer service before. My husband has been going to this business for years so I'm disappointed myself and my daughter were treated this way. This girl needs to be fired or removed from helping costumers. I will definitely find another place to go too. read more

My insurance pays 100% for exams and I get a bill for $270. So I called my insurance company and they told me that the eye center did not bill it correctly. I called the eye center and all I got was the run around. Stay away from this place, the are deceitful. Worst customer service ever. read more

If you are the most patient person on the planet, you will lose your patience sitting in the waiting room. I don't know what it is, but every time we've been here, the wait is mind bogglingly long. Maybe it's just overbooking, or Dr Danny, or what, but it is troubling. Maybe if they had recliners, and TV or sleep rooms, . . . We weren't the only ones frustrated. read more

I met Dr. Andrew Edwards in Dec. 2018. St. Mary's had sent me to him because of a right eye inflammation and in a lot of pain. Dr. Edwards checked my eye and put me on some medicine and by the evening the pain had stopped. Dr. Edwards took SUCH GOOD CARE of me for week and was going to operate on my right eye for cataracts when the inflammation had been gone for 3 months. I had the surgery, for cataracts on my right eye on April 25, 2019. When I took the bandage off my eye that night I could see every thing. I was so happy and surprised. I could see without glasses. Dr. Edwards just finished operating on my left eye on July 18, 2019, Both surgeries were painless. I had been scared to death to have the 1st surgery. Dr. Edwards was so calming and explained everything in detail and assured me it would be painless and it was. I can now see 20/20 in both eyes up close, when before I had 20/200 in one eye and 20/400 in the other. Since childhood I have had to wear glasses to read and now I can see without glasses. I am very unhappy with my interaction with Dr. Linda Gunshefski. I went to the Walla Walla Eye center for Botox. I have had Botox shots before at different medical offices and have never had such an experience. About three or four days after my Botox shots in the forehead area to help with a brow lift and a smoother forehead, I experienced a very noticeable droop in my right eyebrow. With the left eyebrow I looked like I was constantly surprised. I went back for a correction and Dr. Gunshefski took pictures and gave me the option to wait and see if the issue corrects itself or she would inject a small amount of Botox in the left side of the forehead to try and get symmetry in my face. I choose the second option as I looked comical. Once the shots were given, I was charged for the 2.5 units. I was shocked that the doctor considered this visit as an additional Botox requirement and did not acknowledge that it was a correction. The charge was only $32.00, but the lack of acknowledgement of the error is what really upsets me. If I were Dr. Genshefski, even if I did not want to acknowledge my error I would not have charged the patient. That would have been a wise PR decision as well as an acknowledgement of a mistake to the patient at least. read more
