I couldn't leave him in the house alone while at work because he would (literally) make himself sick with worry. Connie welcomed us as new clients and, as she is a generous, wonderful person, we became fast friends. She has steadily been there for me and my Hubie over the years. Weekdays, weekends, overnights, in a pinch at times with little notice... sending me cute pictures throughout the day of my boy, feeding him, giving him medicine when needed, taking him to the groomer, going on little walking adventures, giving him a little brush 'n fluff from time to time... I even moved back east and she still couldn't get rid of me! When I come back to Olympia periodically for my current job, I bring Hubie simply because I know he misses her. Connie has enriched both our lives and I'm so happy to call her a dear friend.

Definitely recommend!

Even when they're busy, they have a way of making you feel like you're their only client and your pet has their full, undivided attention. I have many examples of why this has been the absolute best veterinary office in my many years of having dogs. Dr. Doyle saw two of mine until the ends of their lives and had special treats waiting for them before they were euthanized together (6 y.o. GSD w/ hemangiosarcoma & a very senior GSD w/ other health issues). Dr. Doyle saw I was struggling with my decision to euthanize and was nothing but supportive. She double checked the oncologist's report and helped me to know I was making the right decision. It was time. Another beloved dog is currently in hospice care, but both Dr. Doyle and Dr. Bauman treat her with the same level of respect and kindness as a younger, healthier dog. I've taken 3 dogs in there for surgeries (neuter, enucleation, gastropexy) and if hypothetically I didn't follow after care instructions appropriately and hypothetically a dog got a post-op infection, I would never be made to feel incompetent. Of course this is hypothetical and didn't happen after 2 of these surgeries. One of my soul dogs was not quite acting normal, and I am so incredibly thankful that even though they didn't have any openings they still allowed me to bring him in. It was his littermate brother that had just been euthanized three weeks prior due to cancer. Dr. Doyle immediately recognized that something was wrong and after a thorough evaluation it was determined he needed specialized care. I took him to an ER where he later had his spleen removed due to torsion. It was this same heart dog of mine that was having some GI issues. I'm traumatized from what his brother with cancer went through and am paranoid of him showing symptoms. Again I called and there weren't openings, but they still allowed me to bring him in. Dr. Bauman saw him and it's so hard to describe the level of care and compassion she showed along with the thoroughness of her exam. She put us both at ease and had meds for him to help him until his symptoms passed. Him being one of my two soul dogs, I let her know I was okay if she wanted to do blood work or any other tests she thought were warranted. She assured me they weren't necessary. In fact, in my dozens of visits I have never felt I was ever charged for anything unnecessary so when they do recommend something I agree without hesitation because I trust them. Their staff is the most amazing group I have ever had the privilege of seeing. You can't do better than Christy at the front desk. She has always been so welcoming and kindhearted...and has candy. I've had experiences with the rest of the team, too. Kenna, Aria, Mei, Heather and Brennah - you're all the best, from drawing a dog's blood to taking the time to teach me things and educate me. I appreciate everyone so very much. Believe me, I'd like to say much more and share more examples, but I fear I've already lost a few readers due to length. The most important thing to know is that I trust Rainier West Veterinary Hospital with my dogs' lives.

We have come to this place 3 or 4 times and won't be returning. I really tried to give them a shot…read more I wish I knew the name of the tech that's so nice because this review doesn't reflect her at all. She was the only kind person there. Our 1st visit was about 2 years ago, I made new patient apts for our 2 pups to get the whole sha bang, we just moved to be area and they were very close to our home. The front desk staff was horrible. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Rude. Didn't acknowledge my presence when walking in at any of our apts. I had to literally walk up and say hello.. no greeting. No good morning. Just take a seat. Ok. Our first appointment the boys got there wellness checks, 2nd shots, they 1st visit stuff. No problem. We were told we should return in a few months to have them neutered, I advised we felt waiting till they were a year would be more appropriate for their development. Vets dismissed my feelings on that, said it was the standard time frame. Ok. The tech came back into give me the estimate for care, again she was SO nice. But she told me I had to pay the past due balance on the account. I said what balance? I paid the $40 deposit they required for scheduling a new patient visit. X2 since I have 2 pets. She said no it looks like it's from a previous visit. I was obviously confused because it was my first visit. I explained that to her and she went to go speak to the front desk about it. I get it, mistakes happen, but when I went to pay my actual balance witch was right about $560(estimate) the same front desk lady who I'm sorry just seems to really hate her job was all annoyed that I questioned the bill. I made sure to check that the "past due balance" was removed. Then she was rude that I didn't have my actual care credit card and just the info on my phone. She literally ripped the phone out of my hand. I thought maybe she's just having a bad day. And left it at that. A few month go by and I needed to take one of the boys in for a tummy ache, same front desk lady put me on hold for 10 plus minutes, hung up and I had to call back, no Oh I'm sorry or anything. I just needed to make a standard apt, I said anytime on Thursday or Friday. I wasn't being picky or rude. She says YA I KNOW. Ok The last apt we had was the worst, I had to bring in my boys at the same time, stressful for me. One of them almost choked himself a few minutes before our apt so I was really upset. He was fine got his head stuck in the gate of the kennel. Anyway I came in solo and checked in. Said I have both boys out in the car is there anyway I can have a tech help me bring them in. They were fine but there was a full house of big dogs in the waiting area, no place to sit or stand. And I didn't want to try and wrangle my anxious boy with my I love everything dog at the same time. I arrived early we had time. The front desk lady was so nasty. Same lady each time. "Well I'll have to ask" ok that's fine. I literally said if they can't it's not a problem would just be helpful. The very nice tech ended up coming to help me and there's wasn't any issue. Front desk can make or break a practice and after multiple times of just being met with rudeness and just the bare minimum we won't be coming back. Compassion goes a long way and I try to remember that, but you reach' a point when you say OK this person just is unpleasant.

She only mentioned that after I tried to confirm the total. She requires full payment upfront, in. When I expressed that I wasn't comfortable with paying upfront in cash, especially when she only has a handful of reviews which are mostly years old, the response I got felt unreasonably defensive. I think it's entirely reasonable to be cautious about giving a complete stranger a key to my home along with dates that I won't be home, and complete payment of nearly $200 cash when I haven't received any sort of service. Especially when this isn't a well established business.

Over the years I've hired her many times and have never once had an issue. She keeps me posted while I'm gone, sending periodic updates and photos of my cat. I can tell how happy and relaxed my cat is when I get home - Tiffany gives her lots of TLC and keeps a close eye on her to let me know if there's anything I should be concerned about. Last month I was out of town for two weeks, and my 17-year-old cat had just started a new diet and medication regimen to treat IBD. Tiffany stepped right in made sure she got the proper meds on certain days, and she even got her to eat more than she had been! In fact, I just took my cat to the vet this morning for one-month checkup and she'd gained a half a pound (a significant amount of weight for her) on Tiffany's watch. The vet was very pleased to see how well she was doing, and it really was all because of Tiffany's care while I was gone. I'm very grateful for that. In addition, I don't have any worries about my home while I'm gone because Tiffany takes care of things like mail, window shades, lights, plants, etc. It's comforting to have someone looking in on the place, as well as taking care of my kitty, of course! I highly recommend Tiffany and the Cat's Meow!
