We passed some luxurious and humble lake house and cottages (that was the highlight). While the experience was lovely, I did not have much interaction with the staff beyond confirming our tickets. If you are looking for a unique and memorable experience, I would recommend the Muskoka Steamships. Whether you are a nature lover, history buff, or just looking for a relaxing day out, this is a greatt activity. For now, 4/5 only because we had not tried out their food options which is offered for additional price. So next time , that would be our goal. We were thankful that the boat had both indoor seating and outdoor seating as it was a chilly day. While we awaited the boat we shopped in the store which had an extensive collection of items made by local artists. What we liked: When asked questions the crew was knowledgeable. The boat was very pretty- much nicer than other boat tours we've done. They had a full bar and snacks for purchase. Lots of different views from the boat- three levels of I treating spaces. Plenty of seating. What we didn't like: From the website it looked like we would be enjoying a steamship. The boat we took was a diesel ship. It seemed like we would learn about local history of the area- but it was a prerecorded tour that was out of sync with what we were supposed to be looking at. This made it confusing and we were unsure of what we were supposed to notice. It was pricey for what it was. And there is an additional charge for the museum. Crew was moving furniture from the dining room for the carpet to be replaced. The tour felt like an imposition for the crew to get their work done on the boat. Not great pictures of the beautiful dining room because there were chairs stacked everywhere. There are many great museums in the area and lots of cool experiences, many that are free.. I wish we had skipped this one & spent time elsewhere.

The service here is consummately professional, too. The attendants are always on the dock well in advance of your arrival to assist you in docking and perform their mundane duties with a smile. But in the last couple years they totally downsized the actual marina store in favor of pushing ski boats and launches for sale on their docks. Don't get me wrong, I love to eye-eff a good ski boat or launch, but when I'm waiting for the boat to be fueled I also like to ogle maps and candy and shorts made out of towels -- you know, posh stuff. This year they've also concentrated on adding an art gallery to the marina...an art gallery! Attached to a gas station! With one Sun and Ski outlet *already* dedicated to the sale of boats, I wish this Sun and Ski outlet would remain true to its roots, slum it with the rest of the Muskoka marinas and sell me some Corn Nuts.

You're able to drive the boat to different islands and dock there. There's a BBQ on deck as well and the entire experience was relaxing. It was my first time and from check in to check out, it was seamless. Frank took the time out to train us and made us feel confident enough to drive and dock. Thank you - we will be back!

The staff a great at training and put in enough time to teach you how to handle the houseboat. They provide a service line if you need it and always have someone there to answer questions. I went in late May where the whether was ok but very quiet in the late spring so no issues with busy locks or too many boaters in the water. Got a chance to see their luxury boats and it's like a floating hotel. Can't wait to go back. Highlights of the trip were Boyd island, Bobcaygeon, Lower Buckhorn lake, Wolfe Island and Lovesick lock.

The way they took advantage of us for the damage should be a red flag.

Ryan always recommends a great boat based on the needs of our group. Delivery is convenient, on time, and FREE! The equipment is always clean, and in great working condition. We did have a battery die on us one summer, and NLM had a mechanic at our cottage on the same day to have it fixed. The customer service at Northern Lakes Marine is terrific - phone calls and emails are answered promptly. The staff are informative, helpful and polite.
