Marysville Auto Center Wolf in Sheep's Clothing…read more We purchased a 2011 Subaru Forester from Marysville Auto Center on November 17th 2025. We purchased the vehicle for my son to drive when he came to visit on winter vacation from college. After purchasing the car, it sat in our driveway until my son came home from college for Winter break on Dec. 12th (except for a few local trips to the store within a ten-mile radius). He stayed with us for a few days and then headed down to Portland to stay with his mom where she lives. We had plans for him to drive back up on the morning of Thurs. Dec. 18th because we had tickets for the Seahawks/Rams game. He called the evening before game day on the 18th to inform me the check engine light was on and the car was "surging". I was not at all comfortable having him drive it back to Seattle with the check engine light on. It was not possible to get the car looked at in Portland on such short notice and there was no way of getting him up here in time, so we had to miss the Seahawks game. Although we tried, we couldn't sell the tickets online or otherwise being less than 24 hours to kick off. The following weekend we went down to Portland and took the car up to the Kendall Marysville Subaru Service Center. At this point the car had only acquired about 500 miles since it was purchased. After inspection the Service Department called and told me that the check engine light was set off by PO30X codes and the (4) Ignition Coils needed replacement. They also mentioned that improper spark plugs were previously put in the vehicle, and those should be replaced while they were there. These repairs were going to be close to $2,000 for a vehicle I just purchased from their car lot. I explained the vehicle was just purchased from Kendall Marysville Auto Center, and these repair items should have been picked up on the 163 Point Inspection previously done by their company. I told them I wanted them to replace these parts and requested a copy of the 163-inspection report completed on the vehicle before it was sold. I received the Inspection Report from the Sales Department. The report showed that PO30X codes had previously triggered the check engine light before the vehicle was sold, and Kendell Service Center replaced the spark plugs. Below is from the inspection report. Why didn't Kendell Service Department complete the repairs they say needed to be done on this vehicle when the same check engine light codes came up for them before the car was sold? Instead, they replaced the spark plugs with ones they now wanted to charge me to change since they are not the proper ones. I also looked closer at the 163-point inspection completed on the vehicle prior to us purchasing the vehicle. None of the inspection boxes are checked off in the 163-point inspection. The 163-point inspection was not completed as advertised. Below is the actual 163-point inspection report for this vehicle. I brought this up to the Kendall Service Department. They offered to replace (1) Ignition Coil but not the other (3) they said needed to be replaced. They would not even replace the spark plugs they put in. They now said the spark plugs were ok. When looking for a vehicle for my son, I could have purchased a similar car for less from a private party or I could have purchased from any other used car lot on the corner. I looked online at private sellers and went to several other used car lots. I did not have much confidence in what I was seeing. When I saw Kendell's ads for Marysville Used Car Center, I felt like I could have some confidence in a company that is standing behind the used cars they are selling. When I purchased the Subaru Forester from Marysville Auto Center, I did not even try to talk the price down. I figured if they were standing behind this vehicle like the claims they make in the ads, I was fine paying a little more. Through this transaction with Marysville Auto Car Center they proved they are no different than any other used car lot or purchasing from a private seller. Purchasing a vehicle from Kendall's Marysville Auto Center was a huge inconvenience and costly mistake. They dress up their dealership and web page to look like they offer a product and service that others don't. This is not true. I also question the Service Departments credibility. Beware they are Wolves in Sheep's Clothing. I plan on purchasing a new Subaru sometime in the future. I will not be purchasing any more cars from The Kendall Auto Group.

They fixed many things on the car I wanted including replacing the brakes. It is a 163 point inspection that gives you much greater confidence in what you are getting. All the staff we worked with were great including sales rep Jovani, sales mgr Jason and finance mgr Zac. We appreciated being treated respectfully and professionally. Encouragement without unnecessary pressure. Definitely recommend this dealership for used car purchases.

I had a frustrating experience with the service department…read more I brought in my 2021 RAV4 Hybrid for a driver-side door lock issue and also explained that my push-button start wasn't working properly. I clearly described the symptoms and came in expecting the issue to be fixed. Instead, I was charged $190 for a diagnostic that simply confirmed what I had already explained. This charge was not clearly disclosed ahead of time. No repair was completed during the visit. On top of that, the push-button start issue is still not working, and I wasn't given a clear answer as to whether it's related to the actuator or if additional repairs are needed. I was told I would be contacted to schedule the repair, but after multiple follow-ups (calls, voicemail, and email), I've received no response. The biggest issues here are lack of communication, lack of follow-through, and being charged for something that was never clearly explained or authorized. 2 weeks later update: someone from Toyota Marysville commented saying they are looking into this, but it's been 2 weeks and no response back from them again showing how much they lack in communication, lack in follow though and follow up. Highly recommend skipping this place as they show they don't care once they have your money.

My husband and I were both upset, feeling pressured--almost scammed--into rushing the deal. Afterward, we saw the person they claimed would buy it leave in a different car. Despite that shady start, we proceeded. After purchasing the car, I couldn't take it home that day due to radio issues. I returned two days later, only to realize the radio still wasn't fixed. While they provided a loaner (which I appreciated), my car was kept from March 15th to April 16th--nearly a month. During this time, communication was almost nonexistent. Despite me asking multiple times to speak directly with GM Gary--both in person and by email--he never took the time to respond. Meanwhile, Zach and Josh--both sales managers--failed to provide any meaningful assistance. In fact, when I mentioned calling the Better Business Bureau, Zach mocked me. They insisted the brakes were fine, but I could feel grinding and shaking from the rotors. Despite a "pre-certified check" stating the brakes were good, they were not. I tried again last weekend with GM Gary, but he again didn't respond or engage. Instead, Josh vaguely promised Friday. Today, I got the car back, but the brakes still feel unsafe--requiring extreme force, so I will have them fixed by a place that actually knows how to fix the brakes because I am completely done dealing with this nightmare. At least the radio works now, but I'm left feeling deeply frustrated by the management at this dealership. My advice would be to stay far away from this unprofessional, poorly ran "dealership". I will never buy another car from them and I will make it my job to let people know exactly what kind of place this is.

He assured me that he 'knew exactly what the noise was' and that it would be repaired before I took possession. The dealer also mentioned that the car was not yet listed online and that if I wanted it, I needed to put down a $500 non-refundable deposit, or they would list it immediately. Since they assured me that they knew the issue and that it would be fixed, we proceeded with the purchase. After taking the car home, the noise remained. When I brought it back, I was surprised to learn that the dealership's mechanic had not actually inspected the vehicle before selling it, despite my understanding that they had. The mechanic took it for a test drive and returned saying, 'I have no idea what that noise might be,' and that I would need to make an appointment for a full inspection. At this point, I called the dealership and told them I wanted to return the car because I felt the initial assurances about the issue were inaccurate. They refused, saying it was too late and that I had declined to wait for their own inspection (which, had I known, I would have done). They then clarified that it had only been inspected by the auction house. During the five-day wait for their lift to become available, new issues developed, including a tapping noise when the AC was on, hesitation or slippage in the transmission, and a loud squeaking sound that resembled a dolphin. When I returned, the lift was still occupied, so they used home car ramps but then said the car was 'too hot' to inspect and asked me to leave it for an hour. Hours later, I had to stop by to check on it since no one called. After the repair, the original noise was gone, but the transmission still hesitated/slipped. When I brought it up, I was told, 'That's just how these transmissions are.' I was later informed that I had a 3-month warranty, but it only covers up to $1,000 in repairs, which may not be enough for transmission work. If you're considering buying from here, I highly recommend getting an independent inspection beforehand. It costs about $160 but could save a lot of trouble. My experience left me disappointed, as I expected better transparency and customer service."*

The car was out front but filthy, to which he replied "it's really pretty when it's clean..." While on a test drive the salesman sat silently (other than driving directions) in the back. He had no knowledge of the vehicle, which was a little disappointing. We had a unique and complicated financing situation and I appreciate the work that goes into it, but the outcome was unprofessional. After a lot of back and forth they had agreed on a price if we were willing to adjust our interest rate (which we obliged) then after some time they came back and decided not to keep the price. At that time the only reason they would have made that decision was that there apparently was no longer any wiggle room on the sticker price that they up front mentioned was "always relatively negotiable." After questioning them about the reason they just stopped talking to us. There were several more unprofessional things that took place but overall it just felt like a shady place. I will however say that the gentleman in charge of financing was very kind and professional, but that would be the only positive review of this dealership.
