My wife and I were traveling to the five National Parks in Utah, as I retired last September. We' were pulling our trailer all over Utah. We landed in Moab, and it was time to fill my wife's critical prescription for chronic pain. This was only the second time we've been out of town when her prescription was due. Walker Drug worked with us and our doctor to get all the i's dotted and the t's crossed. Working with Matt was a pleasure, along with the remainder of the staff at Walker Drug. Matt let us know that he had a partial fill for the prescription and the balance would be in on Monday. Unfortunately, his wholesaler out of Salt Lake failed to deliver the balance of my wife's prescription. Mat jumped on the phone and talked with a Pharmacist in the town we were heading in, to fill the balance of the prescription. Then Matt text my wife and told her the meds had come in and he was going to drive them to us. We were over two hours away from Moab... This was the greatest show of customer service I've ever seen. And most of my career was in the customer service industry. We chatted with Matt and told him we would rather meet him half way, to relieve the burden of a long drive on a business day. Matt met us in Hanksville, UT. Again, what phenomenal service Matt provided. The words, Above and Beyond, describe your service! Their prices to my surprise were quite reasonable. The lady that checked me out was extremely friendly. Plenty of parking outside the store. Take credit cards. I didn't go up and down every aisle, but I can see that they have just about everything you might need or forgot to bring with you on vacation. When I think of small town, I think of a store like this. It's probably been around several years and has morphed from a drug store to a hodgepodge of whatever items customers most often come seeking. You can get a gallon of milk along with strange kitschy figurines-and anything in between. The staff is friendly here-I found them all to be busily engaged in stocking shelves, arranging inventory or manning the checkout. Whenever I'd pass an employee, I was greeted warmly. The hours are a bit limited-they close a little early, so be sure to make appropriate plans to get in before closing time. But remember, this is a small town and they are likely not staffed to be an around the clock operation. And that's a-ok. read more

This local drug store is a fixture on Moab's Main Street. The store has many more items than it may appear from the outside.

Being a visitor to town, my doctor called in a prescription for me to Walker. They were so quick, friendly, and helpful in the pharmacy. We went in the next day just to shop because they have an excellent selection of gifts and souvenirs for all ages. They have a TON of cards, stationery, and notebooks if you love those things like me. There were purses, a nice knife selection, clothing, shoes, and of course over the counter meds. They have groceries, including beer and drink mixers. Most of their pricing was decent. Some items were a little much. However, I appreciate the variety they offer! We spent $120 on our visit, which is easy to do. Employees asked if we needed help and the cashier was extremely friendly. We will visit again before we leave town. read more

My husband and I are children of the 80s, and this store brought back so many memories! It's full of things you may need -- everything from an HDMI cable (the reason we went in), lip balm and ... awesome toys and candy! If you have a bored kid as a tourist in Moab, you NEED to take him or her here. There are puzzles, games, animal figures ... you name it. I had the opportunity last evening to stumble upon Walker Drug in Moab, Utah as I was in need of some bottled water. I have journeyed to various parts of this great USA and have been in many a pharmacy along the way. Also I have many years of experience having worked in Pharmacies. The experience I had at Walkers was exceptional. The selection and depth of inventory for just about everything a traveler might need was right there for me. I realized immediately what set this independently owned business apart from the CVS, Walmart, Target and the like that are found everywhere else. Walker Drug is "A Good Neighbor Pharmacy" !! Pricey but they have everything you need here. I didn't pack enough food/snack from home (I thought I did but we consumed more food that I originally anticipated) and I was in need of purchasing more food to eat during a day for the remainder of our road trip. This store is located on the main street, parking is readily available. Grocery section was towards the back and nicely laid out. I purchased some fresh fruits, veges, lunch meat, and other snacks. They were pricier than what I am used to see at a regular grocery store but strawberry was fresh, all the packaged food was not expired, and I was able to get enough food for the next few days. Staff was friendly and credit card accepted. If you forget to pack something for your trip, this is a good place to stop. read more

Visiting Arches. Desperate for a bathroom and groceries. Came in here first time. Fine. Clean restroom. Super friendly clerk. Had everything I needed in one place - groceries, pharmacy, supplies and gifts. Second visit. A nightmare. Came in shortly before closing. Got what I needed. Went to cashier. Realized I'd forgotten an item in my car that I wanted to return from the day before. Said, can I run out and get it? Different cashier says let me ring you up first. After he rings me up I said, OK now can I run out and get it? Cashier says we're closed. Manager says we're closed. I put up a bit of a fuss. Guy watching door opens locked door for me. Appears to be waiting for me to go to car to get item. Closes and locks door and walks away. I come back. Bang on door. Manager lets me in to return item. Crazy amount of grief to return one small thing a couple minutes after closing. Like other commenters, I got the impression that some people working there hate pushy out-of-state tourists. I don't blame them, but you are working in a tourist store, in a tourist town. If you want repeat customers, be friendly and helpful. That simple. I also got the impression that the people who own the store are Moab old-timers who probably don't read Yelp reviews. But if they do, and they care about money, I suggest they address the situation head-on. I know I won't be coming back after that second visit. Whereas the first visit with the friendly clerk would have kept me coming back during my three-day stay. I spent about $100 at Walker drug and would have spent $150 but for getting such a hard time. I'll spend my money elsewhere on my next trip to Moab. read more

Walker Drug is what Target and Walmart WISH they were! Every time I come to town I end up here. In addition to a well-staffed pharmacy, they have a spectacular selection of every day items. Vacuum cleaner belts - check. Pillows - no problem. Fishing line - yep. Season-appropriate clothing - no problem. Gluten-free crackers - oky doky. Plus, everybody who works there knows where everything is. Hair mousse? Aisle x. A cane? Aisle y. An HDMI cable? Up front. I miss this store when I go home to the San Francisco Bay Area. read more

This place. How could I describe it in one word? It has *almost* everything you'd need (or want) to get. This store is widely eclectic. It has everything from pantry staples, to socks and blankets, to nail polish and hair product, to fragile figurines, to a literal beekeeper's outfit (check out the picture I posted). The way this place is "organized" (or not organized, I should say) leaves seeds in the same aisle as Ty Beanie Baby stuffed animals, which was also the same aisle as the aforementioned beekeeper outfit ("side zippers for easy use" and "collect honey without the sting!"). To be fair, the food aisles were all organized, but right in front of checkout is where they really are 'weirdly organized'. I'm not saying it's bad that the aisles are like that, per se, but it definitely is... unusual, to say the least. They do have those hand sanitizer dispensers outside the bathroom, which is convenient. The store overall is clean, has a ton of variety generally, and the prices aren't too awful. Food, water, kitchenware, bedding, shoes, yarn, candy, walkers, hunting gear, camping stuff, oh, yeah, and drugs/medications. I've been going there for years and the staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful. Came to Moab on vacation and forgot my meds and the pharmacy was very helpful getting my prescription and getting me on my way without missing a day of meds. I'm a local and usually avoid this place. The prices are much too high and the customer service is appalling. However, I decided to go to Walkers to avoid the crowd at City Market. This will be the last time I make that mistake. City Market has better prices and excellent customer service. I was simply dropping off a prescription. The pharmacy clerk was so nasty I left thinking I had done something wrong. Anything available at this store can be purchased elsewhere. So after a very frustrating search and looking at several stores that were either out of stock on sleeping bags or wanted way too much for them I came across this drugstore. They did say on the window that they sold sleeping bags here. Luckily they had just what I was looking for and I snatched it up in an instant. If a drug store has sleeping bags then you know that there is lots of other stuff to look at , and this place did! My new sleeping bag worked out excellent for the rest of the trip through southern Utah and northern Arizona. At times my little Chihuahua who accompanied us would grow rebellious and do rebellious things. If you know Chihuahua's they have a mind of their own and their expressions are easily detected with looks on their face. Throughout the trip she had fury and disgust because she wanted to go gallivanting in the national parks leash free which was not allowed. To protest she threw up on my nice new sleeping bag that I got from Walker Drug. That is ok, it was an easy clean up. My Chihuahua enjoyed the trip for the most part despite times where out opinions on what to do differed. read more

This store reminds me of Kmart in the 80s that literally has everything in every little nook and crannies. I don't agree with the 3 $s as it's actually affordable. That's the good thing and I like it a lot until this old worker there kept in eyeing me, so I asked if I can help her. She proceed asked if I had paid for the Red Bull that was drinking. I explained that I had brought it in. To my surprise she replied that's "not a good idea..." (I'm thinking she's going to say something about Covid), but she continues and says, "it's not a good idea to bring in something the establishment sells... don't do it again." Woah!!!! I'm not sure how poor or deceitful Walker Drug's clientele are or the types of hoodlums old girl is accustomed to, but to accuse your customer of stealing a $2.50 drink is way too crazy, almost comical! With the temperatures at 93F today, all the driving between parks I needed a quick caffeine hit before continuing to Arches; besides most vacationers can easily afford a Red Bull. She should've just have been ok and move on. It's time for old girl to retire as she's a big determent to this charming variety store. Likely cost the store more than $2.50. I should have read some of the comments before going here. The customer service is HORRIBLE!! The cashiers are the rudest people and feel like they should never be asked a question. My brother in law went to ask where he could purchase worms to go fishing, the cashier made a face at him like she didn't understand and then proceeded to take him to the refrigerator where they were at. I don't understand how a place like this can have these types of people up front helping the guests. I will never go back or recommend this place. I will also do everything to keep people away. I don't know if it was my skin color or if they, employees, were just rude. I took my items to the cash register, after waiting 10 minutes at the chocolate counter, and mentioned that I had been waiting 10 min. My cashier said "I'm not Chinese" (totally random) I said excuse me? He said "just pay for your stuff lady! (Aggressively I might add) and tossed my bag at me. I went on a long trip to Arches and Canyonlands and discovered I was going to be shy a couple of days of prescriptions. I had my doctor call in to Walker (the only drug store I could find online) to get me a few days worth. My doctor called in 10 days. Oh well, I wanted five but ten would be OK. My sister went to pick up the meds and came back to the web site with the medicine. I asked her what I owed her and she said "175.00" and gave me the receipt. WHAT??? A MONTH's WORTH of my medicine doesn't cost that much!!!! More like 120.00 for 30 days. And I didn't even get one of the drugs refilled! I said that there must be some mistake! I immediately left a message for the drug store to call me and surprise! They never did. Please, PLEASE, call the big grocery store in town. It has a pharmacy. There is NO way it can be as much as these gougers are charging. Someday the crazy advantage people that sell drugs take will end. Shame on the people that gouge people who need medication. This place is what I would envision old 1950's type businesses being like...a staple in a small Town/City where you go for just about everything. I was basically getting some supplies for the road and see an aisle with furniture and then an aisle with shoes and clothes. Stopped by for a few items tonight. This place is a joke, I will never return. Their selection is okay, as are their prices (would probably give 2.5 stars for both), but their attitude toward customers is AWFUL. I was in the store for about 3 minutes and then, the back half of the store went pretty dark because they turned off the lights. WTF? This is after I saw an employee standing oddly by the cereal, almost as if she was hiding. I get up to the cash register and the female (teenage?) employee smiles at me, waits until I put stuff on the counter, and then she puts a homemade "closed" sign immediately in front of me and says she's closed. Okay, whatever, weirdo. I tell her I was in the back of the store and they turned off the lights, I could hardly see the products. She said, "No." Again, WTF? Yes, the lights were turned off. I told her it was a pretty bad practice, they should leave the lights on. She said they announce they are closing 20 minutes before close and they start turning off lights 10 minutes before close. Again, I said "That's just really bad practice, I couldn't see." And she just walked away. Then, a slightly older male at the next cash register rang me up (but not after his customer started questioning me about the items I was purchasing...there are some weird people here) and I tell him about the lights. He repeated the same thing as the girl, there was an announcement, blah blah blah. I told him I couldn't see, it was bad practice and customer service. "You can't just turn out lights on customers." He just looked at me. I nearly walked out before I purchased everything. And I would like to say there were at least two other parties in the store besides me, so I was not the last person and I was not keeping them there late.
