Janeen at the pharmacy was such a massive help for me. When I arrived it turned out my prescription wasn't actually available, and I only had an hour until I'd be off-grid for 30 days. But she took extra time to figure everything out, gave me a call back once she resolved the issue, and got my insurance updated and I was able to pick up my medicine in just 30 minutes. If I could 0 stars, I would for the pharmacy. Since the new manager took over, all good Rx staff left. Mom picked up 2 valium for a procedure. They said, "We didn't put it through your insurance; it's not worth it". They couldn't be bothered. She had to pay $6 A PILL!!! Don't know if it's laziness or bad training, but the manager is responsible. Will be moving Mom's and my Rx to CVS or Costco. This Walgreens RX is THE WORST. read more

I can't say enough about the staff at this store and pharmacy! I've been with this same pharmacy for several years now- long enough to see people come and go! No matter what's happening in my life, I know that I will always have the care and help I need to understand how my medications work. The pharmacy staff have been a rock in my life. They are respectful, patient, and professional, and no matter how busy they are (and they are ALWAYS busy), they always help answer any questions I have, and deal with any issues that may come up. They need more employees working here! I only seen one employee and there was no one in the cosmetics section in which, I wanted to inquire about a specific lip gloss. I went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for which Walgreens had called me to say was ready, and had to wait in line a really long time. unbeknownst to me, some old lady was behind me and when it was finally my turn at the register, she ran up ahead of me and cut the line. when I spoke up, she rudely said "they called my name over the loudspeaker." none of this is the employees fault of course, but the pharmacy tech saw the whole thing, and instead of telling her to wait her turn, he just went ahead and waited on her. the employees here need to be trained in basic courtesy, I guess. read more

I have been coming to the pharmacy for over ten years. The staff here used to be organized and friendly. Things have changed. On my last visit, the doctor said they sent the prescription--at 10:00 am. I call Walgreens. They say they didn't get it. I call the doctor to resend. Repeat x4. I finally drive to the doctors. Pick up a paper copy. But it's a copy. Walgreens won't fill it. The person working the register was new and really uninterested in being helpful. At this point, I'm at Walgreens semi-hysterical--my kid was really sick and it is 4:30 on a Friday. I call the doctor's office again. They tell me to hang up, go to the pharmacist, and have them call the office. The pharmacist did and the problem was fixed in literally 30 seconds. Hours of my day and it took 30 seconds to fix. So fast forward three weeks. Both my kids are sick. I watch the doc send both prescriptions in after the fiasco last time. I get the notification one is ready. Walgreen Online system doesn't have the other. It connects me to the pharmacy. Someone answers and just says, "we're putting you on hold." Rude. Then when the phone rings through after sitting on hold, they say nothing and just put the call back on hold. I sit on hold for twenty minutes then just decide to drive to the store--still on hold. I get there expecting a huge line. Four people. I watch the same unhelpful person from last time continually putting people on hold. A co-worker actually told her not to answer the phone because "the line was long." So I get to the counter--still on hold. They have one prescription ready and start the, we didn't get the other one. I was not kind. To the credit of the person helping me, she did go find it (in fact, Walgreens had gotten the prescription) and had the tech fill it while I waited. She even tried to help me find a coupon. I appreciated that. So I get the antibiotic home and the bottle doesn't seem full enough but I just assumed it was the way it should be. My child ran out on day eight. I tell our pediatrician about it and he tells me the prescription wasn't mixed correctly. His nurse then quietly asked me what pharmacy we'd be using in the future. We use this Walgreens for our pharmacy because it's closest to us - but we need to find a new spot. I have literally had an issue with them every single time I need to fill a prescription. There is no communication between staff, no one seems to have a clue what is going on. You have to follow up multiple times and speak to multiple people before anything can be resolved. This review is for the pharmacy staff, near the fry's/Trader Joe's location. Love these guys! I have to pick up meds at the drive through about 2-3 times per week. The main young guy that works the drive through is ALWAYS super nice, professional, and efficient. Another lady, dark hair/glasses, is always helpful to us as well and super sweet, patient, and gets me everything I need. One of the pharmacists is super nice and patient as well. They call me and update me of issues. When I call them they resolve my issue and give me realistic expectations, wait time, medicine fulfillments, etc. They always take good care of me, I don't talk to them too much but I'm sure they would recognize me since I come through so often for life saving medication. THANK YOU PHARMACY STAFF. I know you guys work hard and have helped me a lot personally w my orders. Some people complain that Walgreens is a little more expensive for meds, but I think this location is worth it because of they awesome staff they have. Keep it up. read more

The employees are friendly but they do seem to have some problems with their photo equipment so if you are trying to print something out here there might be some issues with the quality of the prints. We tried to get some photo cards made here a few months back and the photo printer wasn't working right so there was a large noticeable white stripe down the side of the prints. The associate here had already seen this though and alerted us to it. She took off any charges and let us know where other Walgreens locations were so we could get the prints done elsewhere. I haven't had any prescriptions filled here mainly because they are not open 24 hours. When I shop here for general OTC goods though I haven't had any problems. read more

The store has terrible problems with parking. I would have a higher review if not for issues in the parking lot. This is a nice well organized store. The sales clerks are always helpful and friendly. This Walgreen's is close by my place so I go here rather than the other one a half mile away. The workers here are friendly and I have never had a bad experience with them. The drawback to their pharmacy is that it is not 24-hours as advertised. Also, I think there may be a lack of communication between workers because I dropped off a prescription to be filled for the special sensitive toothpaste I have to use. The girl who waited on me said it would be there in 24 hours and gave me the specific time frame I could get it. I went back the next day and not only did they not have it in stock as the girl the day before said they would, but that they would have to call my dentist and have the prescription changed. I have yet to hear back from them and this was yesterday! Other than the pharmacy issues, I like this store and go there whenever I need something. 1/17/18 I arrived just now to pickup Prescription from the Pharmacy. I'm waiting for 10 minutes before anybody is visable . Once I finally see a worker she's walking by with her phone out, makes eye contact with me & walks out the pharmacy to chat with another worker. Another 5 minutes goes by & a gentleman came up to help me, I asked him how he was, and he said "what can I get you" I told him, and then he proceeded to help another customer I saw arrive afterwards. This is for only the Walgreens on Guadalupe & McClintock, Tempe, AZ because I love the two Walgreens nearby. But this location just did something I need to post. My elderly mother with Covid came it to pick up Covid medicine and asked the male Pharmacist on duty on Monday afternoons taunted my mother after she asked him for cough drops because she didn't want ti come inside and expose employees and customers but he told her to go home call in the cough drop then come back inside ti pick up and she reminds him she has Covid as she's there to pick up the anti viral and he just smiled in a taunting way and told her to call it in. This baffles me that during a pandemic that a medical professional (and I say professional in a loose way) would suggest a sick elderly woman do this. Will NEVER use this location again as the pharmacist there is a fool and is not helping to prevent the spread of a virus that is killing people. Mind blown please get a pharmacist that cares about people so this guy stops ruining the Walgreens brand (which by the way is myself & my family's favorite) I hope that guys feels real good about himself after making a sick elderly woman with Covid cry and expose others. read more

I would go elsewhere to have photos printed. Got an email saying the order was ready for pickup but the woman working at the photo desk could not find it using the phone number or order number, and repeatedly told us it was not there. Even after showing her the email saying your order it was ready, she tried convincing us that it wouldn't be ready until tomorrow. Only after us insisting the email showed it had arrived was she able to find it in the back. Upon coming out, she proudly goes "well at least I know my phone number!" which was rude and unnecessary. You don't know how to do your job, but at least you know your phone number! Their process for tracking what they have is concerning. We overheard them telling another woman they shredded her photos as they had them for over 30 days - if they can't even track when an item arrived, I'd be concerned that they'd shred anything in their line of sight. Actually very unhappy, my daughter with Down syndrome had 5 teeth surgically removed Friday January 4, 2019. The RX,s were sent electronically at 10:00 am. Directions were to give her the pain meds within 1 hour; it took 2 1/2 hours to get filled, with my husband waiting! When we did receive her medication, we were told we were only receiving "partial amount, because some parents overuse, and this was really strong amount for a 13 year old." The pharmacist had NO idea how invasive this surgery was! Now I have to return on Sunday to get the rest of what the Dr. Knew she needed. To top it off, my daughter has a secondary insurance, but we were charged anyway! I have been to this Walgreens many times. We came here tonight because, I have been working far too hard and have had a lot of muscle pain. One thing we got there at 7:55 pm and the Pharmacy was closed. So easy to say it is not a 24 hour pharmacy. I could not find the exact brand of pain cream I wanted (Bio Freeze), so I got one that seemed to be very much the same. We got a few others things as well as fishermans friends cough drops, which the sign clearly said $2.99. Driving home my girlfriend checks the reciept and sees that we were charged $3.19 for the cough drops.I was going to go back. But, she said , we are not going back for .20cents. I guess she was not in the mood for that. Because, normally she would. Anyway, I hate being over charged for anything. So I will check my slip before I leave the store from now. read more

This has to be the worst Walgreens in the area. They can never get their act together and lie about everything. On multiple occasions they have tried to tell me my doctor never called in a prescription, but having dealt with this before my doctor actually had me wait and gave me the fax confirmation as proof because they were sick of it being blamed on them. When presented with this fact the girl behind the counter went silent, said hmmm and proceeded to talk to the pharmacist. 15 minutes later they amazingly had my prescription ready. I guess they found it lol. For common medications they have started supposedly filling them at their warehouse which makes no sense at all. It isn't because they were out of my meds, I was told that that was "just the way they were doing it now". This is the third time I've waited over a week after re-filling my prescriptions for the "warehouse" to send my common bp and thyroid medications and when it doesn't come in and I'm out of meds I have to insist I need my medication. Every time1 they instantly fill it on the spot because they have the meds there to start with, but not without acting like I am putting THEM out. I'm done with the drama, lies, and unreasonable waits. I'm transferring my prescriptions to the CVS near me. I can't imagine it being any worse than the Guadalupe and McClintock Walgreens. read more

I am pretty easy going when it comes to waiting but their pharmacy chronically over promises and under delivers. I come back when they say the prescription will be ready (and add in some buffer time) and it's never ready. They tell me to wait in the parking lot or to loop back around the drive in line to wait after I'd already been waiting behind a line of cars for ten minutes. One time (yes this has happened multiple times) I loop back around the drive thru like I am told to do and I am informed they are out of the prescription and have to go to another Walgreens to pick it up. Seriously?!? Either bulk up your pharmacy staff or tell me an actual accurate time to come back and pick up my prescription. Super frustrating! read more

This is the Walgreens on the SW corner of Guadalupe and McClintock (not Southern Avenue as it shows on the map). This is the one in the same parking lot as Changing Hands Bookstore and Trader Joes grocery store. There are several good restaurants, as well, including a raw foods vegan place that serves fresh green juice. This is absolutely the best Walgreens in the Valley. The people who work there are friendly and helpful. Please don't believe the propaganda against this Walgreens. This is the best place to get your dental floss, make-up, shampoo, and other health and beauty supplies. I usually shop there if I'm going to Trader Joes. In fact, anything you can't find at Trader Joes, you can pick up at Walgreens. Plus, there's a big Fry's across the street on the SE corner. However, the SW corner of Guadalupe and McClintock is the most happening corner in Tempe. read more

This review is specifically for the pharmacy department. I went to pick up two prescriptions after dropping it off over an hour before right after going to urgent care. Finally got to the tech, she told me that they are out of one of the prescriptions. Without offering any type of next steps, as if she was expecting me just to leave as if I don't need my medication. Who knows, maybe they are used to people just getting prescription medications for fun??? Anyways, puzzled why they didn't call me to let me know so I have option to go to another pharmacy before making the trip to the store to wait over 20 minutes in line and after having to go to urgent care to get the prescription in the first place -I asked them a logical question : when are you going to get them in stock? Annoyed with my question, she looked it up reluctantly and told me it wasn't available until 3 days from now. Which is not ok, and again she gave me the blank stare. I asked her if she can call another pharmacy down the road to see if they have it. Again, still puzzled why they didn't do this when they realized they were out of stock. And you guess it....she reluctantly said that she will ask someone to call as if my request was sucj a huge favor to ask and then told me that I had to wait in yet ANOTHER line to pay for the medication that they were able to fill. Wtf? Ok.... So I had to wait for another 10 minutes to pay for my medication with someone else, who was a hot mess and keeps telling me that he's not equipped to be a bag boy. I didn't think you need to be equipped at all to operate a simple cash register, especially since he works at a pharmacy and I told him that I didn't need a bag. After all that fun, I was told to wait AGAIN, to hear back if the other store had it. Waited another 10 minutes to be told that none of the stores within the city has it? I am looking for couch medication not a cure for ebola! Again, got another blank stare for her, but had to ask the next logical question- can you give me back my prescription so I can get it filled at a totally different company? I mean, were they holding my prescription for ransom or something? Of course, she had to ask someone elsento figure out how to do that. These are very simple questions people! So having wasted almost an hour getting to this store and dealing with incompetent and inconsiderate pharmacy techs, I have half of my prescription filled and a loadfull of attitude and rudeness. I know they had to do "work" while at work, such a tough life wah wah wah, because I asked them to check the other pharmacy but they could have saved themselves from doing all of that and myself from wasting time while being sick if they had the freaking decency to make a two minute phone call when they realized they did not have the entire prescription. It's basic decency and common sense. Get this through your head. Your customers are either sick or is there for someone who is sick that they care about. You should treat them with compassion and consideration - not with apathy, dismissiveness, and annoyance. You're not there as a favor to your customers- you are there because you are getting paid to do your job well. read more

It is kind of weird because then tonight I was at the location on Warner and Dobson and they had a whole bunch of them ice cold in their cooler. PHOTO review: I went here to have my wedding thank-you cards created. Honestly I had a horrible time on my own, I am tech savvy, because my photos would look normal but print with a green haze over the picture. Corrine, I think was her name, helped me for well over an hour readjusting the the colors and position the pictures perfectly. She was a life saver even though she had many other things she need to do, like take her lunch, she helped me step by step. Her customer service was remarkable! I really hope she is recognized for her efforts. I will never get my photos done anywhere else. Thank you! read more

Worst pharmacy. They will take your prescription, tell you to wait for 30 mins, 45 mins, an hour if you tell them you will be in the store and after waiting in a line of 5-8 people long inside or at the drive thru. Your name is called on the intercom, thinking since it's been the amount of time they told you to wait that your prescription is ready, go back and wait in that long line 5 people long again, only to find out that "oh sorry, we actually don't have your medication in stock." This has happened SEVERAL times. I learned to ask them to check to make sure my medication was in stock PRIOR to dropping off. They will tell you a time to come back and pick your meds back up, always estimating 2 or more hours when you drop off and they are still not ready. I've gone back to pick up more than 8 hours later and they've told me it would be approximately 45 minutes longer - what?? What is wrong with this pharmacy?? This is not the only Walgreens in the East Valley or even Tempe. I don't understand why this place is always a chaotic nightmare but they need to staff this store appropriately. I also just waited in the drive thru for 20 mins at 8:45pm, 3 cars deep, nobody assisting at the window, finally went inside the store and the same car was waiting at the window not being helped. Poor job on the photo center. 1) Ordered a Photo book online for fathers day. It took a week to get to me after running around to three different walgreens that called and said it was ready for pick-up. 2) I picked it up a week later and the guy at the counter was short and in a bad mood. 3) I gave it to my father for a LATE fathers day gift and he opened it, just to have the pages fall out on the floor. Talk about wanted to cry. 4) When to the 24x7 chat, their response. Some guarantees at this location: you WILL meet some of the poster children for Arizona's failing education system (you can find them wearing Walgreens name tags), you WILL contemplate going to school and becoming a Pharmacist, because if they can do it anyone can!, and last but not least, you WILL have at least 30 minutes stuck inside of this castle of mediocrity to question just why and the hell you need that item you came in for in the first place. read more

Really poor job at the photo center. They didn't look at the photos before printing. So, I spent over $30 on prints that had been poorly cropped. They should have been printed as square photos, but the app for your phone doesn't offer the option. I was unaware of this. Instead of reprinting and exchanging the photos, I went through a great struggle with the clerk. He printed several of the photos again, without asking which I needed fixed. He then seemed to expect me to pay for the reprints. Really? After him confusing me, while being hostile, I told him just to take the pictures back and give me my money (there was 30-50 of them.) He refunded me, charged me for the reprints. Some of the reprints were duplicates. Why would I need three copies of the same photo? After all of this ridiculousness and the employees attitude problem, I wanted to leave. I just paid for the duplicated reprints and left. I left with about 15 photos, when I originally wanted 30+ photos. I tried calling there corporate center, she was not much help. After telling her the whole story, in great detail... The manager calls me the next day to ask how much money I spent. Seriously? read more

It doesn't have a drive thru and isn't 24 hours for the pharmacy. Otherwise, if you need something from Walgreens, it mostly has a good selection. read more

This is absolutely the worst pharmacy location that I have ever been to. Today, I went to drop off my mom's pain med prescription (I understand there's a lot of controversy about controlled substances right now and so I understand that policies have gotten stricter). Anyways, I go drive through and the woman I spoke to asked me for my moms ID. I said just to drop off a prescription? She said yes, it's the law. I had never heard of that before, but I had just gotten off work so I didn't have my moms ID with me. I returned a while later with my mom's ID and mine, to drop the prescription off, and while she was looking at them, I asked her "where in their policies does it say that you need an ID to drop off prescriptions, even controlled substances?" And she said "it's not in Walgreens policy, it's the law." She kept cutting me off and refused to provide me her name (verbatim: "what's your name, ma'am?" "have a good day." "ma'am, what's your name? I'd like to file a complaint about your attitude." "i'm not going to tell you my name") and then told me to either come in to speak to the supervisor (who was busy) or drive away. I drove away, and when I came back to see if the prescription was ready, I went inside the store this time. I walked up to the line where there were a few people ahead of me, so I was relatively unseen. Clearly I was not seen because the same pharmacist I originally spoke to, whom I later learned name was Alli, was laughing about me requesting to see their policy to another pharmacist named Madison (she was wearing a name tag so I'm sure that's her name), who was saying how ridiculous I was and asking when that happened. Allie (was not wearing a name tag during initial drive through interaction or when I came into the store) was using a mocking voice and imitating my questions as if I was being difficult in wondering when policies had changed. I was truly amazed, because this is a 50+ year old woman and a woman in her young twenties, who are apparently qualified to be pharmacists and techs, discussing a previous situation and MOCKING a customer in front of other customers. At this point, I'm closer to the counter and I interject and say "That was me you guys are talking about. and it was an hour or so ago" Madison was very rude and was smirking at me, but offered for me to speak to the pharmacy supervisor to discuss policy. I said "at this point, I don't care, I just want to get my mom her pain meds." So anyway Alli calls in Alex, another manager (I'm assuming) and goes over to the pharmacy supervisor (another woman who is reviewing my moms script) and tells her I refused to give her ID, which as I previously mentioned, was not the case. Finally, the pharmacy supervisor and Alex both come over to me to discuss the situation. They both seemed surprised at the situation but said they'd "take care of her". I doubt they will. I've spoken with Allie briefly prior to this instance while simply picking up medication and she is always very grumpy and short with myself and other customers that I've seen interact with her. I'm unsure if that is her name, as even Alex was hesitant to give me her name. But for your guys reference, she is about 5'6 and an older woman, with blue eyes and greying hair which is usually pulled back into a bun. My mom is switching all of her prescriptions to another pharmacy and as someone who grew up in the neighborhood of this Walgreens and still frequently shop there, I will not be returning. *EDIT* i wanted to add that I've interacted with Alex before and he's always been nice. All the cashiers and the beauty department are super kind as well. One of the beauty department employees even warned me an item I was getting was being discontinued and offered to put the last few in the back for me. I've never had an issue with any department but the pharmacy. But Allie and Madison, screw you guys. As someone who works in customer service, I'm embarrassed for you guys being grown women and not knowing to wait until you go to the back to talk shit on your customers. read more
