I was not pleased with the customer service I received when asked about my refills that were back…read moreordered twice and never filled or even called to let me know that they were in. The prescriptions were charged in full but never given. When asked about them because I kept running out of medication I was told I had to bring in the refill slip which I did and I let them know I would be back to pick it up with my other prescription later. Came back to pick up prescription and they told me I didn't give them the slip. So guess what no medication! This was the second time. Out $60 plus no medication. You would think they should have that on file. Never going back.

It's nothing fancy but if you need anything by manner of toiletries, medications (they also have a pharmacy), first aid items, etc they've got it. I've definitely bought my share of aloe more than once here after a wicked sunburn from the beach. They also have a small toy selection, a few self-care/beauty things, etc. Pretty much anything you forgot to throw in your suitcase you can get replaced here. I also absolutely love that they still have the old soda fountain counter in the back. We love going and splitting a soda or a float like we're kids in the 1950s. The one thing I do miss is the large selection they used to have of beach toys and whatnot. Every visit we'd buy a kite to fly at the beach, or something goofy to take to oval like a big beach umbrella, chairs, or blow up floaties. It was always the highlight of our trip and I miss it!

Meijer OREO Persian: For a grocery store bakery, I've been pretty impressed with the doughnuts at…read moremy local Meijer (although the selection is sadly wildly inconsistent). A Pershing/Persian is a doughnut that is similar to a cinnamon roll but is made with doughnut batter. Meijer has had a plethora of Persian varieties lately, with one of them going for a cookies and cream vibe. The surface of this pastry contains a whipped cream-like frosting with miniscule chocolate cookie pieces. Due to their small size, the crumbles don't add any texture but do add a faint chocolate flavor to the creamy topping. One mini-OREO cookie can be found within the topping as the finishing touch. The cinnamon flavor of the pastry's body is sweet and relatively subtle with no uncomfortable burning/heat to it. Cinnamon granules can be seen in the dough after taking a few bites if you look closely enough. I found the dough to have a nice thick and chewy texture while also being light and pillowy. Initially I had some trepidation as the topping did not appear very thick, which concerned me because the topping to pastry ratio would be way off. Although I still think it could have been a little thicker, the ratio was sufficient for the most part. When I get shots at other places, I always get really nervous about the needles--like how much they hurt. But whenever I go to Walgreen's I can even look at the needles when they put them in my skin. Special shout-outs to Katie and Amy because they are REALLY good at giving shots. I never feel the needles when they do it. (Well, of course, sometimes I feel it.) I recommend you try Walgreen's for all shots! Also, they have a lot of prescriptions--both pills and gummies--making it easy for kids to take them. I've seen the shelves before and I've seen like hundreds of prescriptions. So whenever you need a prescription, just go right to Walgreen's and get it.

Katie from the pharmacy (Hilltop Rd. In St. Joseph, Mi) has terrible customer skills and a terrible…read moreattitude. I waited for 10 minutes at the window to pick up a prescription and nobody acknowledged that I was there. Katie was on the phone and I asked if someone was going to help. With a smirk on her face, she said "I'm on the phone." No "I'm sorry. I'll be with you in a moment." Or, "I'm sorry for the wait but we are so busy. I'll be with you soon." Nothing. She hang up with whoever she was talking and said "we are busy." I said that I would change pharmacies because it is not the first time she has talked to me that way. She said "That is your choice and good luck. All the pharmacies are busy." When I get the prescription they are working on at this location I will change pharmacies, since they don't need my business. I don't need them either. It won't be another Walgreens.
