With the lack of good pizza options in the area, I found this place on Apple Maps and thought I'd…read moregive it a try. It is, in fact, a tiny "general store" that is inconspicuous and easily missed. It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). They have a small deli in the back and the young unassuming young guy making pizzas and other baked goods. He seemed nice, albeit so what suspicious. There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. The taste may not be worthy of a five, but certainly a Midwest tiny-town-in-the-middle-of-nowhere five, and certainly worth a visit for pizza, miscellaneous baked goods... or beer, wine, and lottery.

They actually had quite a bit of what we needed. Sparkling water, dinner ingredients for our AirBnb, a bottle of wine, etc. And while some prices were maybe mildly inflated, it certainly wasn't enough to notice on my end. While this is in Douglas, don't let that confuse you if you're new to vacationing in Saugatuck.. it's basically the same area. Like a few minutes from downtown Saugatuck. It's a bit dark feeling in here, but that's alright. Nice little grocery that was popping on during peak season as we enjoyed our week in Saugatuck.

Addendum: right after I wrote this review I had the following experience. I walked in desperately looking for croissants and asked if they had any even though there weren't any in the case. A nice lady went into the back, got three of the frozen croissants they would use to make deli sandwiches, rang them up and sold them to me ad hoc. One of her co-workers said "I didn't even know we can do that." And the nice lady replied, "we can do anything the customer wants."

Pots, pans, serving ware, pretty dishes, cookie cutters, gadgets, etc. They've also got a nice selection of dips, spreads, jams, and mixes for baked goods, soups, sauces, etc. We stopped in this past weekend after a few years away and I was happy to see they've now added a small cooler section in the back with some great picnic items and snacks like cheeses, spreads, charcuterie, even miniature butter packets--perfect for a nice little baguette when you're visiting and don't want to commit to an entire package of butter just to have a nice snack on the beach! Things are a little pricier here but it's a boutique store in a vacation town so it's to be expected. But their offerings are good quality so there isn't a ton of sticker shock! Highly recommend coming through to browse and grab some snacks!

There's sections dedicated to cookbooks, kitchenware, home decor, a set up of some clothing and accessories, art pieces, gifts like candles and body care, all of which was beautifully curated. They also have a section for gourmet snacks like imported meats and cheeses, tinned fish, and a variety of snacks like cookies, candies, chips, etc. All perfect for putting together a picnic or nibbling on at cottage rental. Admittedly a lot of things I liked best here were out of my price range (what can I say, I have expensive taste!). I was particularly wowed by a gorgeous wood cake stand with cloche that definitely made my eyes water when I looked at the price tag. But I'll tell you what, if I had the money, it would have gone home with me. The section I saw it in was adjacent to a stunning chef's kitchen (I covet that stove) where they also hold cooking classes. I hope I can make one work sometime in the future. I'd love to take a pasta making class or paella, both of which are in their line up of offerings. Those seem to be priced at around $125 per person which I think is reasonable for a hands on class and a meal at the end. Oh, one of the clothing sections was located in the old bank vault, which was a cute touch and interesting use of the space!

We were greeted as we came in and they let us know about their Easter egg specials for discounts on their products. Just like a wine tasting at a winery, one can sample the olive oil and vinaigrette variety here. They have small sample cups available for each variety. I love me some good olive oil to dip in some good bread and Parmesan cheese. I came across their slow roasted garlic olive oil and had to buy it. Love that garlic smell. It was originally $30 for 500 ml but with discount came out to $25. Overall, service was great, I felt welcomed and product was top notch. Would come back again!

She mixed up several samples of oil and vinegar and all were so tasty. If you like spicy stuff, the Habanero oil is awesome! A South Haven staple and always fun to explore!
