I've been using this pharmacy for 10 years. The staff friendliness has been inconsistent but they have had some good people there in the past. I called in a prescription refill recently and it took 7 days to fill. I called on the 6th day and was told "we are working on that now". I understand staffing shortages are happening, but if this is the case here why do other pharmacies in town have staff and provide better service? Their hours posted aren't consistent either. Online it says the pharmacy opens at 9am, in the pharmacy window there are 3 signs taped to the window that say 9am and a hand written sign that says 10am.... Went to pick up photos that were supposed to be printed and was told that since we had a bigger order and she was running out of paper, she was waiting to see if there were smaller orders that she could print first and then print ours if she had enough at the end of the night. If I could give zero starts I would. My son was out of medication. The doctors office said they would call it in. I waited an hour to pick it up only to be told they don't have it. The tech was beyond rude, shockingly un empathetic. I asked if I could get a couple pills as he was completely out. She refused to sell me anything and lectured me on their process. I agree with other reviewers that this location has pretty horrible customer service. One lady in the Pharmacy even rolled her eyes at me. Unbelievably, she's worked here for at least 3 years. I try to avoid her when picking up my prescriptions but it tends to be unavoidable. Now, I've been waiting on hold for over and hour in a half. As soon as it gets down to "one caller ahead of me," the music switches and I all the sudden go into a scenario where no longer am I in line behind anyone and I just get the music and "we're sorry, our staff is answering other calls.." but NO ONE ever picks up MY call!!! There is no way to speak to a human. Ever! Luckily I can go in eventually to speak with a person but for seniors or those who are unable to drive and whose phone is their only way to access the pharmacy, this is deplorable service to them! Only one person working both the counter and drive thru (he was great & running around like a chicken with his head cut off) while 3 others hid behind screens filling prescriptions and not helping customers. If I could give this location zero stars I would! If your store hours say you close at 10pm, then you should be obligated to be open till 10pm!!! Not 9:50, not 9:55pm, BUT 10pm! I pulled in at 9:55, just needed to get milk. Tried to go in, but the door wouldn't open. Some guy was yelling at me through the glass door saying they were closed. When I held up my phone showing him the time wasn't 10pm yet, he just shook his head and said, "sorry, there's nothing I can do once we close the doors". It's very sad how short staffed this location is. Every time I reorder my prescription I receive a text message when it's ready for pick up. I reordered and on 10/21 got my confirm it was ready. Great pharmacy and have used them for many years! I love the "drive thru" pharmacy portion. I also love their variety of seasonal items and home goods. I will say that the wait is sometimes not great! But a pharmacy in our town did close and all the other pharmacies have been overloaded....thanks Haagen! They also carry some yummy food items I can't get anywhere else. Also, you can order photos online and pick them up there...super convenient! They also have great deals on everyday items and makeup. So it's a great little one stop shop when I just can't handle going to Target for a few things! read more

Zero stars. Scheduled my husband's Covid vaccine two weeks in advance. (The bivalent booster, shortly after getting approved, so was still in short supply.) We showed up at this pharmacy for his vaccine appointment to be told that they weren't doing immunizations, due to short staffing, and wouldn't have anyone available for several weeks. We received no notice about the cancelation and even got an email the day prior reminding him of the appointment. The staff was not helpful in getting us an appointment at another location to make up for their negligence. They just told us to schedule another appointment online somewhere else. Due to the current short supply of the new booster, we will have to wait another couple weeks for an open appointment anywhere. I would also like to mention, there was no one in line the entire time we were having this conversation at the pharmacy counter. They definitely could have done the shot in that amount of time. I've used this pharmacy off and on over the last 12 yrs because it unfortunately is the only convenient location in the area and it has a drive-thru. However, with new development currently happening in the area, I am hopeful that will change. Sherwood Walgreens pharmacy is inconsistent in two areas; its hours and product inventory. There have been several times that the pharmacy is not open during publicized hours of operation because the pharmacy staff are "running late" in the morning or the pharmacy is closed in the middle of the day because the pharmacist had a family issue. They have also been out of various medications (pretty common stuff, things you would expect a pharmacy to have on hand) consistently over the years. It appears to be an issue of poor business management skill. The pharmacy is consistent in two areas; the rate in which they fill your prescriptions is consistently very slow and the pharmacy staff is discourteous and lack basic customer service skills. Doctors in the area have even made negative comments when I provide Sherwood Walgreens as the pharmacy at which to fill my prescription, so their reputation among patients and medical providers seems pretty wide spread. If you absolutely must have your prescription filled there, I would recommend going in with very low expectations and you won't be disappointed. Hopefully, there will be better options in the Sherwood area soon. read more

I had my doctor call in my prescription and had to wait 6 days for them to fill it. Every time I called to check they said they were working on it. No problem with the doctor not calling or insurance problem. When I finally came to get it the lobby was closed and said to use the drivethru. There were 20 cars in the parking lot in line. Their non pharmacy customers could not even get a place to pull in and park to purchase their needs. Waited 30 minutes and still sitting in line. Called to ask if they could switch it to another pharmacy, any pharmacy! but no one would answer the phone. Was on hold the whole time in the parking lot. Tried again today and the same thing! Again no one would answer the phone. After 40 minutes I drove off and called another Walgreens to see if they could or would fill my presciptions. They told me it would be ready after 5. Finally someone who would answer the phone and help! I questioned the price as the second Walgreens was $87 higher but at this point I don't even care. I would highly recommend using another pharmacy. Any pharmacy is better than this one. I will never step foot in this store again. There have been many more instances than just this one. read more

I've never got to a point where I've needed to write a bad review until my experience with this pharmacy. For the past 6 months I've tired countless times to just get our prescriptions filled and every time every single person except the two men who work here are so over the top rude. They treat you like you are a inconvenience to them. They refuse to answer the phone, fill the prescriptions on time and have zero understanding of how to communicate. We've tried every angle to get our scripts filled from automation, calling in and walking in and it does not matter they always fail to fill on time and then give you the biggest attitude when you arrive. I have always been kind and thought maybe they are short staffed and tried to roll with it as long as I could until the past two weeks.. they are more careless than ever. I hope someone in charge will review this and fix this issue. It would be nice for Sherwood to have a reliable pharmacy. This must be coming from management for the majority to operate like this. AWFUL experience. 1) we walked into the store and couldn't find an employee for over 15 minuets! Two people were on break and the one lady was in the back corner and we thought she was another shopper. She never acknowledged us. We had to knock on the break room door to get their attention. 2) we printed photos that all turned out horribly pink and unlike how they looked on the kiosk. We spent an extra HOUR there trying to remedy the situation and they NEVER apologized even though they admitted it was their printers problem. 3) the pictures were for my mothers birthday and so I asked if we could have a couple of the images for free or discount (even thought they were horribly over saturated) to have as placeholders until we could take them somewhere better. We mainly chose the Sherwood Walgreen's because it's on the way home and has a drive thru. Two convenient things when you just need to get your prescriptions and go home. Jerry the Pharmacy Manager and their pricing ruined that for us. Any dealings with Jerry have been rude, unhelpful and in one instance, completely inappropriate. Completely inappropriate: My wife, who happens to be pregnant, went to pick up a pain relief medication. Jerry's "consultation" for her was: "This should really be able to get you cooked up during your pregnancy." He apparently never read the "things to never say to a pregnant woman" book or the guidelines of his job which are to keep your smart alec opinion to yourself, dispense drugs and advice on how to use them safely. We were in complete shock a professional would say this. Our doctor was in complete shock that he had said this. We collectively decided it was time to find a new pharmacy after that. Price: Insurance companies make things that much more complicated. Ours can't count or divide by 30 to make sure you are going to have the medication your doctor instructed you to take. So when we found we were out of a sleeping medication and insurance wasn't going to cover it, we were left paying cash. Cash price for a popular sleeping medication at Walgreens: over $44 (for the generic. yep.) The exact same prescription at Costco: $9.14. They were not willing to communicate with our insurance company to own up to the fact they filled the prescription wrong to begin with. And finally, Unhelpful: We cancelled 2 prescriptions due to insurance not covering them, finding alternatives and not bothering to have them switched. When we went to pick up another prescription a week later due to a doctor not realizing we had made a switch (and us really needing it) they lumped the 2 cancelled prescriptions into the 1 prescription we needed. No consultation was given this time or a run down of what was being picked up. Not realizing what had happened until after we left the drive thru, Jerry claimed the Board of Pharmacy allows them to deny any returns once prescriptions have crossed the pharmacy counter. I don't doubt this is true, but even on the Walgreen's website it states that if a prescription has been filled in error, you may speak with the pharmacist to come to an agreement. Obviously this was filled in error. He was short, rude and unwilling to acknowledge that they made a mistake. The convenience of the drive thru just isn't worth justifying a managers appalling behavior, outrageous pricing and general disinterest in wanting a customer. There are better pharmacies in and around Sherwood. read more

I regularly go here to pick up any prescriptions for myself or my family. The staff is awesome both in the pharmacy and in the store in general. They also have some other basic household things so if you need a script filled and a couple other items it's convenient to stop in and pick it all up. They also have some food items, beverages, chips, even a very small frozen food section. I often use them for swapping out empty 20lb propane tanks. read more

I've been going to this Walgreen ever since moving to Sherwood 18 years ago. I don't expect a warm fuzzy experience at Walgreens?! I expect warm fuzzies when I'm at the mall at Christmas time, when I see my favorite team win, and when I'm with my family. When I go to Walgreens I just expect to find what I'm looking for, pay for it, and leave. If, in between, I get a nod or a smile from one of the employees, great. And that is that. In reading the negative reviews I feel I am safe in saying that these reviewers probably post the same reviews about everyplace they go. Or, at best, they have very unrealistic expectations about a shopping experience at Walgreens or other similar establishments. read more

The "convenient drive through service" is really the only reason we don't use Target or Safeway for our pharmacy needs. And the drive through isn't terribly convenient much of the time. The service tends to be quite slow but worse, often lacks courtesy or any notion of customer service. Often when you drive up to the window, you can sit for as long as 5 or more minutes without being acknowledged at all. A simple "I'll be with you shortly" would suffice. Recently we dropped some prescriptions off on the way home from my husband's minor surgery. When asked when we would like to pick them up, I asked if an hour worked. They told me that was "perfect." I came back nearly 3 hours later and used the drive through. The staff person told me they weren't ready yet. I asked if she was sure, since it was considerably later than when I originally said I'd be back. Her answer, with no apology was, "yeah, we got behind." She then told me to come back in about 15 minutes. I returned in a half hour, just to make sure, and found the pharmacy was closed for lunch! She could have easily told me they would be closing soon for lunch since it appears to be the same set time each day. I ended up returning later, for the third time that day, to get my husband's much needed post-surgery meds. Some staff members are nice and some are better than others at recognizing the customer and at least greeting them. But this clearly needs to be part of a training that ensures all staff are courteous and helpful all the time. I do like that I can put my prescriptions on the Easy Pay system, keeping a card on file for expedited check out. read more
