We live within walking distance of this location and have relied on them heavily for random things over the years... Last minute gifts, ice cream runs, replacement mascara, photo developing & more. It's Walgreens, not luxury shopping. The staff deals with some ruckus kids from SLHS, so IMO they deserve to be exhausted a bit. I try to be friendly and they're almost always lovely in return. Ya get what ya give! I have to rave about the pharmacy for a minute. I came down with a horrible illness one night and called Kaiser desperate around 8:30pm to speak with a doctor over the phone... After a 15 minute consult, doc offered to send a prescription out for our pick-up, wherever was convenient. Insert: WALGREENS. My partner ran over and ten minutes to closing the pharmacy saved us $180 by offering the generic version in a mini-fill instead of full prescription, suggesting that often one pill did the deed. By 9:15pm I was sleeping peacefully and able to avoid the ER. All hail, Walgreens. Ya got me there. read more

I've waited about an hour now and no one has said "thanks for waiting... sorry about the wait" just typical customer service stuff. I've never waited so long at a pharmacy before. Very rude service. The photo department did not allow us to print our wedding photos and asked for copyrights. Even the manager is rude to us without showing any policy documents. This review is simply for ONE pharmacist. I do not know his name but he is a nasty tempered RUDE and insensitive Asian man. I have a permanent back condition which requires prescription pain meds. I just found out that my insurance no longer covers it. I had a conversation with him about it over the phone this evening, but since I had other prescriptions to pick up I went in to pick them up. I was curious what the cash price would be for my pain meds so the young lady helping me gladly was looking it up. This man overheard our conversation and VERY RUDELY said to me "I TOLD YOU we do not have it"!! I was absolutely flabbergasted at his abrupt, insensitive and RUDE behavior. I am a CUSTOMER, I am in a GREAT deal of pain and I am already completely miserable and frustrated beyond belief. To be treated this way by a so-called professional was/is completely unacceptable. I will be calling the manager tomorrow and having a very serious conversation about this. This was the LAST thing I needed tonight! I ordered pictures online and just picked them up at Walgreens... I am very happy with the quality of the pictures! They actually look better then the last Snapfish order I purchased. The service was quick, the cashier was nice, the wait time was only a minute or less. From now on, when I need photos, this will be my go to store! read more

This review is solely based on an encounter I had on 10/5/16. This is actually my go to Walgreens, store is clean, always have what I need and friendly staff. Minus the assistant manager, John I believe. I will find that receipt and get his information. Anyhow, I needed to return something and I had to do it in photos. I see the manager talking to a customer who needs his passport photo taken. I'm minding my own business until I hear, "I'm sure my IQ is higher than yours, you can't even speak English. I don't understand you" oooh no no no that is not ok!!! The manager continues to tell him "you can't wear that shirt" I raised my voice and said clearly he doesn't understand you, but you don't need to be rude. I think he muttered sorry about that! The poor guy trying to get his picture taken doesn't understand why he's being shuffled aside. I look at him and using my hand sign a phone to call in English. He dials someone, speaking his native language and passes the phone to me. I tell the person on the phone that he can't wear his white shirt. The manager is doing something else and I ask what can he wear, he can wear anything but white. He can wear the blue sweater he has on. I take it the backdrop was white so the older man would just wash out in the photos. I talk to the guy on the phone and told him he can wear the blue sweater if he doesn't mind. The guy in the phone thanks me and starts talking to the older man. He nodded and I helped adjust his collar and he waited for his photo to be taken by another sales associate. I dont know what posses you, assistant manager to speak to people like that. So rude and so disrespectful. Have some class and be sympathetic to people you rude person. You're working in retail meaning it's all about your customer service!!! How the hell you're the assistant manager baffles me!!!! read more

Horrible customer service. I waited in line for twenty minutes, only to be asked to wait longer while they located a prescription that had been phoned in three hours prior. After half an hour, the prescription was located but still not filled. I returned three hours later only to wait another thirty minutes while a customer who butted ahead of three people argued with the tech. Still didn't get my prescription. Tomorrow I'm going to ask the doctor to send the prescription somewhere else, anywhere else. This place is not ever worth the time. read more

Used to come to this Walgreens specifically because the manager and the staff were so nice and helpful many years ago when it first opened. I moved back to the area and the Walgreens is now terrible. The fat guy that manages this walgreens now is rude, sexist, and looks rather disheveled. He makes the experience very negative. I had to ask twice to open one of the locked shelves (why do they lock up soap for crying out loud), I did not get service. Promptly walked out. Will NOT do business here again, the CVS nearby provides much better service. read more

Worst Pharmacy EVER!! I recently had to fill a prescription and selected this Walgreens because it was the closest to me. However, when I got there I waited 40 minutes in line just to drop off my prescription. After waiting to finally drop off my prescription, I asked when it would be ready to pick up. The lady at the counter told me "it should be ready in an hour or an hour and a half". This was at 8:06pm. Before leaving I turned to the pharmacist and asked again "Ok, so I can come back in an hour or an hour and a half with my ID and pick these up?" "Yes" she replied. Fast forward to 9:15pm and I walk into the store to find the pharmacy closed. The man I recognized behind the pharmacy counter was now stocking the shelves and I asked him right away why the girl told me I could pick up my prescription if the pharmacy closes at 9? (Even if I had come at exactly an hour it would have been closed!) I then asked him to check to see if it was filled as I can still see the pharmacists behind the gate. He went back and checked but came out and told me that even after 1.3 hours it still was not filled--it wasn't even processed!! I then got mad and demanded my prescription back as they should have just told me to go to the 24 hour Walgreens instead of lying to me and intentionally telling me to come back when they are closed. Came here to originally just buy some nail polish but ended up finding a bunch of stuff on clearance. As I was checking out I gave the cashier a few of my coupons for a couple of my items, they weren't scanning so she called the manager over. The manager has the most disrespectful and rude attitude! He said he refused to take my coupons on clearance items. Okay fine but they were manufacturer coupons which there would be no reason not to accept them especially since I was giving him the coupons for the exact items I bought! He threw the coupons down on the counter and told me to go to another store. I have never ever been so mistreated not only by a person but a freaking manger at a store! I WILL not ever go here again. OMG !!! Terrible customer service EVER ! This is my first one star review. The cashier was so rude I drop everything and walk out. I wanted to know the price for a sale item, she check the price and she told me it's half off of $9.99 when the box printed $7.99, it's one of those item that have the price printed on the box already so u can't sale for more than what its marked. I show her that and she said that what my computer said and i can't do anything about it. I told her than I don't want it, i just want the other items you scanned it. Pharmacy Customer Servive is very poor. I called in to refill my prescription, and gave them the number for my prescription. A lady said that the prescription doesn't have any refills, I'm gonna call your doctor to fax it. When I told her that my container for my pills said that I have 3 more refills. Then she said let me check again. She then said that I now have refills. When I asked her why she couldn't find it the first time she kept giving me excuses and tried hanging up on me. I asked for manager and then she hanged up. I gave it one star because I unfortunately can't put less than one star. read more

Open 24 hours, what more can you ask for?? I come here mostly for the pharmacy lately, but I have no complaints! They tend to get a little on the busy side but do work quickly to try and the the lines down. The overall store I feel is a lot pricier than Wal-Mart or Target, but if you want to avoid the long lines of a major retail store and need something quick at all hours of the night than Walgreens it is. Don't go to this pharmacy. There are too many other pharmacies that are willing to accommodate you. I was traveling out of town and forgot my high blood pressure pills, so I went to Walgreens in San Leandro to see if I could have my medication transferred from FL for a five day supply. First, the wait was very long and when I finally got to the counter, after telling the woman my situation, she told me that I HAD TO CALL MY INSURANCE CO. to see if they would override my coverage. I did not get her name, but she was thin, wore blue like scrubs and had black hair. I could not believe that she wanted me to do her job and call my insurance co. When I told her to call the insurance co. she sighed and said it would take an hr. At that point I felt like I was inconveniencing her and just paid the $14 for five pills because I just wanted to get out of there. I called ahead before going in to get a passport photo. I was told it would take about 30 minutes. I picked up some items before going to the photo counter, where there were two clerks. As I approached one of the clerks left and I the other one was talking to a customer. She had a Jamaican accent and would glare at me as she was talking to her customer. When he left, she slammed her register and left the area without saying a word to me. I have never seen such poor service in my entire life! I flagged down a clerk and asked her for a manager or someone to help me. She sent this lady over who told me she would take my picture. So I got behind this screen and this lady who was shorter then me took my picture. It looks horrible but I need it for my passport. I asked her how long it would be and she said 10 minutes. So I do some more browsing, pay for my items and go back. When I get there she said, no it is not ready! She said we have 500 pictures ahead of yours so you should come back tomorrow. I was too angry to say a word to this person. When I paid for my items I had some wipes that were $1.99 that changed to $5.79 at the register. The clerk could not swipe my discount card and did not offer me a replacement. I told her to take the item back as I was not going to pay that much for wipes. While standing in line waiting at the Photo Booth this man in front of me asked if his photo was ready and they said no. He said, you told me an hour and now it is not ready! I should have turned around and walked out that. I have a feeling that my passport photo will not be coming from Walgreens. It is a mess and the Customer Service is none existent. I guess CVS has spoiled me because their service is much better then Walgreens. I am going to make a complaint to whomever has given them a contract to do passport photos because it is a waste of time to go there! read more

WORST PHOTO CENTER EVER! I sent in disposable cameras to be developed, the estimated pick up date says July 22, It has been over 3 weeks since and still nothing. Best part is that I called over the phone to see if they were ready to pick up, the lady said yes, I show up at the store, and guess what... IT'S NOT. Went in this evening to have some film processed because I ran out of developer at home. When I dropped it off, I informed the employee at the photo center that the roll was black and white. Sure enough, said employee pushed it through the C41 developer, so the negatives developed blank. I wasn't charged for the roll, but when I went to tell a manager, I was blamed for the mishap - told that it was my fault for not letting the employee know it was a roll of black and white film. Uh...news flash, that was the first thing I said when I dropped off the film. I'm obviously never going back. In essence: if you have a roll of photos you cherish, send them out to a professional outfit for processing. read more

On Sunday, May 13, 2018, I was in this Walgreens when an African American man came into the store with a receipt in hand to exchange some light bulbs. He first asked the cashier whose name is Paul if he could help him Paul stated that he was unauthorized to do an exchange but he would contact a manager. He asked the gentleman to wait at the photo counter until the manger arrives. After about three to four minutes Paul had to once again page for a manger to help the man with his return. When the managers finally came out the man stated that he needed to return the light bulbs. There were two managers attempting to assist this man, the Male manager whose name is John (I believe) told the man to get his "black ass" out of the store or he was going to call the police, because when he look at the camera the man did not walk in with any light bulbs, the man gave the manager a crazy look and asked him what was he talking about, he and the female Asian manager whose name is Michelle marched the man over to the aisle where the light bulbs are the manager John (who is white by the way) took out his camera and took a picture of the light bulb shelf the man asked us this a new procedure for returns, I have my receipt right here. Michelle, smirking as if this is a joke, John once again stated "get your black ass" out of the store or I'm going to call the police, "all you niggers" steal. I stood back and watched how anger the gentleman became, but he kept his composure. The man stated again I have my receipt are you going to give me my money back, Michelle said no, you did not purchase these light bulbs, and she turned to John and asked him if he called the police yet. At that point the man became very angry and slammed money on the counter he stated I have money in my pocket and a receipt and you motherfuckers are accusing me of stealing light bulbs. You are a fucking racist. John looked like a deer on highlights because he knew that the man was right. Paul overhearing the confrontation he yelled from the cashier desk, "he paid for those bulbs, he paid for them." Paul just shook his head. I stood there in disbelief that this man with a receipt in hand had to be paraded through the store with his receipt still in hand, told that all niggers steal, and to get his black as out of the store or the police would be called is not an establishment where I want to spend my money. Of course when Michelle realizes that I was watching she gave the man his money. I would like to know how many other people of color has experienced this type of treatment at this Walgreens? These two managers need to be fired period. This incident should not have happened. This was an abuse of authority at its highest level and from the looks of it this was not their first time working together to accuse someone of stealing and calling the police on them. I wish I could give negative stars, but my comment speaks for itself. I will linger be shopping here and I work in the medical field and I will be encouraging all patients that I encounter to get their prescriptions elsewhere. Target, Costco, CVS, Safeway. Terrible service, called about an order I placed 5 days ago. Mind you shipping was supposed to be between 1-3 days. I walked into the store and headed to the photo center to pick up my package. While walking towards the photo center I see an employee name John(maybe a manager) kicking a box and very upset making noises. I didn't want to bother him so I stood their for about 5-8 mins never greeted or acknowledged my presence. Because I was in a hurry to get to work I headed to the front to ask an employee who had no customers if he could assist me. (That got no where) so I politely asked John about how long would I have to wait, he stated there is other people here. Walgreens requires them to scan the package in the system upon arrival . Which they haven't done! I waited and waited until finally he just handed me the box. Very unprofessional and unorganized.. maybe they need more help or better management but definitely not the highlight of my day! read more

WORST PHARMACY STAFF EVER!!!! ZERO STAR!!! I filed a complaint with the night manager, Michelle, still waiting to hear from the Store Manager, Praveena. Let's see if I can get some sort of customer service here. 1/4/16: waited in line while Oscar, who by the way did not even acknowledged me when though he looked up and saw me, was manually entering in 3-4 prescription into the computer for a customer that was already there. 20 minutes later, it's my turn, by then there are 4 additional customers behind me. One other pharmacy technician are behind the scene filing in prescriptions - or at least I hope they were, along with Kevin, the pharmacist. Although at this time I was a bit annoyed for the long wait, I chalked it up to normal wait time and proceed to speak in my normal tone. I advised Oscar that I was picking up a prescription that has been here since the holidays (12/22). Meds was for my daughter's migraine, we had some meds left from her previous prescription so we weren't in a rush to pick it back in Dec. Oscar then tells me that he will have to print the order to be filled-WAIT, WHAT?! They had it for almost 2 weeks and he's telling me that they didn't even had it filled???? I asked him what was the holdup-his excuse, they were having printer's problem last week. WHAT?! What about the week before that? At this time, my temper is peaking but I told myself to calm down as there is an easy fix to this, they like all pharmacy do, will fill my prescription today. Other than the excuse that the printer was having issues, Oscar did not provide me with any other explanation as to why they had not filled the prescription...oh, wait, he did, he said it was the Holidays and they were busy. I'll give you that-but two weeks and you didn't even look at the prescription?! Something is wrong here, what kind of operation are they running, it's a pharmacy for goodness sake, people need their meds (mine was as not as dire at the time), they are putting people lives at stake because their printer was having an issue?! Oscar then tells me to wait 10 minutes and prints out the prescription. By now there are about 7-8 people in line. I went and sat down. My daughter FaceTime me and I explain the situation to her - yeah, I was annoyed and you can tell, I was on speaker phone so I'm pretty sure Oscar heard me. I wasn't going to be the rude person who cuts other people in line although technically I didn't need to wait in line to be re-called for my prescription but, being the nice person that I am, I waited until all the 7-8 people were done. I walked up to the counter, 40 MINS LATER, to ask Oscar what the status was. He then asked me a again for my last name, looked it up in the computer, walked to the back and checked on the shelf AND GUESS WHAT? They did not have the prescription!!!! NOW WHY DID IT TAKE ME WAITING 40 MINS FOR SOMETHING HE JUST DID IN 20 SECONDS BY DOING HIS JOB AND LOOKING TO SEE IF THEY EVEN HAD THE FREAKING MED??!!!!!!! I asked him this and he said "we were busy". WAIT UP, HOLD A MINUTE THERE OSCAR...I waited in line for 20 minutes for my turn and you're telling me you were busy when all you had to do was do your job when I was at the counter and look on the shelf to see if you even had the freaking prescription in the first place rather than tell me to wait. When you (Oscar) printed the prescription I thought it was going to be filled by one of the two people in the back, but when you asked me again for my name and went to the shelves to look, you had NO intentions of having my prescription filled. You were not apologetic about the whole situation, and although you may not have been responsible for the printer issue (if there was even one), the holiday season (I'm sure Santa though you were a good person once), and medication out of stock (more on this later), I would think you would have been trained on what customer service should look like. 50+ minutes into this whole situation, Kevin walks over and tells me that the medication is out of production. I don't freaking work in a pharmacy, I don't know what this mean. Are the maker no longer producing the meds, are they on back order, is it a recall, WHAT? Kevin- "it could be a number of things, they could be out of the active ingredient, blah, blah". Nowhere in there was a solution. So do I call the hospital and ask them to write me a different prescription? Kevin, "that's up to you". 'Up to me' doesn't help, that's why I asked you Kevin! It was getting nowhere so I did the next best thing....talked to a manager. UPDATE: I called Praveena who has assured me that she will look into this (I plan on doing a mystery shopper in 2016 to see if anything has improved). Poor lady took over the store in June - she will have to do a lot of training for the pharmacy staff because the reviews on here are horrible and so accurate!!! read more

It's just a 10$ piece of vitamin that has been expired for 4 months. The 2 line had people so I went right behind the counter and got in line because it was narrow and I didn't want to go through whole bunch of people. When I was at the counter, cashier Joy/Joyce told me that I didn't come in with one of the vitamin box I want to return and with that look in her eyes, she was telling me I stole it from the shelf to return. Later when the manager is there she kept saying that I was in the back. No, I was walking to the line from right behind the counter and she saw that. The vitamin shelf is far away from the back and I was holding my baby. I was mad because they have expired stuff and try to give me a hard time when I return them. She told me it's the policy when I wanna return, I gotta go straight to the line. Yes I did and I went the other way and it was just 4 steps longer.
