I went there for drive-thru Covid testing and waited for 30 mins. The pharmacists were not professional and gave me attitude. They didn't provide me the requisition number for the testing, so that I couldn't get my result on the website. It was totally wasting my time and medical resources because of their negligence. 1 star for pretty good pharmacy, and the other star for good store inventory, but that's about it. Walgreens quality overall seems to have gone downhill fast. Any buyers out there for a takeover?!! The round female assistant manager in glasses needs to GO!! She's had attitude a couple of times I've dealt with her. Either she hates her job or interacting with customers, but why the hell is she a manager then?! This place is also a dump and not very hygienic, which is important for a pharmacy. Shelves are dusty and they let the homeless roam around. They seriously need a full time security guard here. And why did they install floor tiles that look dirty all the time? Very weird. When he ran my information he turned to me and said "WELL you LIED to me. You have insurance". I was already terrified of getting this vaccine and then he made me extremely uncomfortable. This will be the greatest review ever. After you are done reading this review, you most likely will think to yourself: "Wow, you know, that was not the greatest review ever. In fact, it was terrible. The title did not fit." I thought the same thing when I was at this particular Walgreen's buying deodorant. I was ready to pay when I looked up at the cashier. It was this older heavyset woman with "Farrah Fawcett" hair, large coke bottle glasses that belonged in the '70s, drawn on eyebrows, cheesy eye make up, and a large hairy mole on her upper lip that went well with her thin mustache. On her name tag was her name: Rose. And below it was her title: Beauty Expert. Clearly, the title did not fit. Other than that, this place has all the last minute stuff you might need: razors, deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash, cologne, perfume, cards, Gatorade, Advil, Excedrin, Gansitos, booze, soda, bottled water, t-shirts, hats, make up, and ice cream. 8 months ago i started having a really random allergic reaction to who-knows what, that got progressively worse over the week until i was covered in hives and could not swallow. i went to the ER, and it turns out my friendly neighborhood walgreens pharmacy switched my prescription to a generic brand WITHOUT TELLING ME, and i was very allergic to it. I went in to get the medication to fix it and told them what happened, (no, they didnt care or offer any apology) and had them make a note on my account. Last week i went to get the same prescription, my prescription paper DEF SAID the brand name, and they gave me the generic AGAIN without telling me! i had to go back, wait again for them to fix it, and they still never even said sorry. i will NEVER go to this walgreens again, and i hope someone sues them for negligence. read more

This review is solely for the pharmacy. It is, in a word, awful. I swear, the people that work here must take classes on how to offer the worst possible customer service. Some speak little to no English, and most are rude and downright unapproachable. The only reason this pharmacy gets 2 stars instead of 1 is the fact that, for all their faults, the staff is able to turn around a prescription in under 15 minutes. Buyer beware!!!!!! Overall the store and employees are good. The issue is they try to sneak in the .10 bag charge even when you buy a pack of gum and don't get a bag. This happened 3 times out of 4 times being at this store. 1. Walked there. Got home and realized the charge. Walked back, had to go to Mgr to get the .10 refund. 2. Got to the car. Realized I was charged again. Went in and had to go to the Mgr to get the .10 refund. 3. Yesterday, as she was handing me the receipt, I asked if I was charged the .10. She looked at the receipt and said yes. I asked her if she used a bag. She said "No". I told her to give me the .10. She was a bit shocked (or caught) taking the money. Now I'm wondering if the .10 is automatically set up in the register. Either way, buyer...beware. It may only be .10, but for heavens sake, it's my .10. Quit stealing from me. Your inventory is already priced tooooo high. Also, homeless are always out front begging. But then to be fair, they are everywhere in this town. Very sad. *****It's been at least 6mo since I started this post. It is rare that I go to this store anymore. And now I am moving out of this area (thank goodness). I keep going back here. I am not sure why. It's true that you can park, but....the experience is annoying, every time. Every time, there is a flustered new cashier who needs manager assistance to undo her erroneous charges, or something. We've all been new at some job, but being new seems to happen a lot at this store. It never seems to occur to anyone to open the second register, either. No wonder the poor girls get nervous, with a line of grumpy customers constantly glaring and shuffling their feet. It isn't as though the rest of the staff are too busy getting the store just right, either. There are always half-finished and abandoned restocking projects in the aisles. There is always a panhandler outside. What the hell. As for not being able to give customers their change in quarters... why not? I ask you. Needs a new manager, a former boy scout, maybe. read more

This has got to be the WORST Walgreens I have ever been to. The pharmacy staff is just incompetent. Safeway is far better but this place had my meds available. I started trying to fill them at CVS however those morons were out and didn't tell me. They weren't going to have what I needed till three days. So I had iit transferred here. What a mistake. From beggers in the parking lot to brain dead people in the pharmacy I hope to never need to go back. The lady getting my pills could only type with one hand and use the same hand for the mouse. It was like she was afraid to put the bag down or something. Then she had old ass information in the system saying thats all they had in the system for me. Thats funny because in December I got my maintenance meds at Walgreens in Cupertino and they had it right. Stay as far away from here as possible. You may catch something for which, once inside, you may never get what you need. They need to shut this place down. read more

This Walgreen's location is one of the locations I actually want to go to. One big plus is that this Walgreen's has a parking lot. All of the other ones around and in downtown don't have one, and it's difficult to go shop to buy stuff and run around the street with your bags to your car. This location is also clean and well stocked. Also, since it isn't directly in downtown, the scary people of downtown don't come in here, and that in turn produces happier employees. Usually the service is warm and personable, but not so much today. But then again, I can't expect the male employee to want to be chatting it up or completely nice when I check out with tampons, midol, hair dryer, makeup, etc. haha. read more

This place has bad customer service! As a new resident of downtown this was my first time going into this Walgreens and from the start my gf and I stared around for help and noone came to help us over at the photo department so that we can receive money from WU. Soon after another lady(customer) came to the photo department and called for help using the help button and help wasn't received until the 3rd/4th time she pressed the help button, a guy who seems to be a manager came from the back to the photo Dept counter. Soon after he helped her he went back to back, not asking or assuming we will need help right after the kiosk. Meanwhile the only co workers we see is having a conversation with the other worker who is stocking the magazines. The boy who was conversating with his Co worker finally came behind the counter we then gave him the number to receive our money from WU and he just let us fill the whole application out on the kiosk just to tell us the WU was "offline"and we would have to wait an 25 mins to and hour to receive money, my gf then asked is it ok if we go to the another WU place to receive the money instead of waiting he replied yes you can. We then went to another WU place to receive money and unfortunately we weren't able to receive the money because Walgreens had a hold on it and if we were given the right information which was to stay at Walgreens and not go to another store to receive it, everything would be all understood. These workers need to be trained better to understand the whole WU system esp if it's apart of your store. The boy who was not so helpful when we arrived to calling back to the store and then going back to the store avoided helping us even tho he's the one who gave us the wrong information. Also when we told the "team lead" about the situation he wasn't very apologetic towards the issue no reassurance for the a customer who had to come back into your store because of false information given. Will not be coming back into this store, NO business from my family and I, we'll go elsewhere, No ty for being not so helpful my whole experience in n out of this store. read more

This got to be one of the scariest Walgreens I've ever been to... I went on a Monday night at around 8 pm to get eyedrop. And when I drove in the parking lot, there's this homeless person in his wheelchair and was starring into nothingness in the middle of an empty parking lot. So I don't know what the deal is... these guys aren't too bad. I live downtown. So on my days off I like to stroll over to walgreens and buy overpriced crap I don't need. Its usually because I'm bored. The Pros: -Friendly Staff (considering they work downtown and have to deal with all the dirty bums and weekend drunk people) -They are open holidays! -They have the basics -Clean enough.. This Walgreens is straight garbage. Their employees could care less about helping people, it's messy usually on the in and outside, and they don't understand the concept of answering phones here. I have been on hold with the pharmacy on all 7 days of the week and at various times throughout the day for an excess of 20 minutes before I'm hung up on. Their sorry excuse is that "We were busy." All of the time?!From the start of the day and all hours in between they are always too busy to answer the phone in a timely manner, or at all to be honest. Many times I'm put on hold as soon as they pick up and left on hold until the line cuts off. I know pharmacies don't usually pride themselves on service but Walgreens you've got to do better than this. It's answering a phone call so the customer doesn't have to come in and be disappointed that he or she wasted their time coming to your pharmacy. This was my pharmacy for most of my last 14 year-stint in San Jose. Despite a few issues with a coupon repeatedly not being applied to one of my husband's scripts, I generally had a good experience there. Recently I moved to Watsonville and found that the Walgreens pharmacy there is a nightmare! Always long lines and a tiny, dirty, waiting area. Not that my old downtown Walgreens was perfect, but I loved getting notifications for scripts, and waiting generally less than 10 minutes to get my meds. Right now I'm sitting at my "new" Walgreens ready to fall asleep after waiting 2 hrs for a scrip that the Dr had already phoned in. :( I miss my old Walgreens! read more

I gave this pharmacy 4 chances to not write this review. There is always a problem with filling the prescription.Once I was so sick in bed and my husband went there to get the medications and they give hard time to him because I didn't go there myself. One time I used the app to refill my prescription and there was a technical problem and I had to call. Another time my husband wanted to get a refill they refused to do, even everything was ok by prescriber and prescription was transfered by doctor online. Once more they had difficulty by filling the prescription and my husband had to get a hand written one from the doctor, so they will be able to fill it. In addition, they did not claim the insurance because my husband didn't take my insurance card (which is exactly the same as his) and I had to go there while I was sick to be able to get the money back. I do not want to see the grumpy and not helpful pharmacist anymore and I will transfer my prescription to an online pharmacy. read more

I had a love hate relationship with this store when I lived in the Ho.Yes, it was handy for milk if Zanottos was shut but there are only so many mentalists I can handle when I'm buying a packet of M&Ms and a trashy mag, and I'm not just talking about the bum blocade at the door or the other customers. Some of the staff are downright scary too. I do miss the bargain bins though..utterly priceless tat. Today I took my 91 year old diabetic father for his Covid-19 booster shot. We had a 1:00 p.m. appointment and arrived a bit early. We stood in line for about 30 minutes while a person at the window helped a woman schedule a flu shot. In the meantime, the line behind us grew long and people were getting frustrated. The person who dropped in for a flu shot should have been sent away and asked to make an appointment. Instead, we stood and waited. We finally got the window and I hand over my father's paperwork, including his vaccination card. The person who took it from me made a face and showed it to the pharmacist who then informed me that we were too "early" for the booster. I was blown away. My father's second shot was on 4/22/21 and today is 10/19/21, so technically, we're 3 days early. I explained that I made his appointment on line using the Walgreen's app which asks when the second does was given. I entered the correct date and the app then offered a number of appointments on 10/19. I didn't pick the date; their system did. After explaining this to the Pharmacist, she has the gall to tell me that their app isn't "that smart". I cannot believe that 3 days is going to be problem. As a matter of fact, my wife received her booster today and she apparently was a few days shy of 6 months. I can't get over their total lack of empathy and judgement. They turned away someone who is in a high risk group based on age and an underlying condition. They wasted our time and didn't seem to give a damn. I can back up every comment re the Walgreen's pharmacy; the staff is rude, and lies when they feel cornered by their own mistakes, the hours are scant, and they are the most expensive of any other major pharmacy chain. Alberto from the photo department gave me amazing customer service. I tired printing out a picture for my class on a 8x10 print. However, the image kept getting cut off, and I've been to this location multiple times.I was irritated after the second time around because I need the picture to be perfect. Alberto was patient and helped me figure out how to send the picture through the app to have it print the way I need it to. After a couple attempts we got it perfectly. Thank you again for your help man! I'm sure I will get that A!! read more

This Walgreens is close to where we live, and for that alone, it gets a star and my business. It's convenient for small items I've forgotten at bigger stores or need to purchase randomly, so there's the second star. The pharmacy, as many have already stated, is not great. They've messed up my prescription numerous times, claimed they "never came in" despite my having my doctor ON THE PHONE saying it was sent and giving a time it was received (this happened both via fax and email btw) and it often takes longer than it probably should. On the plus side, the auto refill thing, once you have your prescription in the system, is helpful. As another reviewer noted, I have also had my prescription changed to a generic, although for me they told me so I appreciated the savings, it's terrifying that they would do it without sharing the change due to the allergic issues. I tried getting prescriptions at another Walgreens nearby (McKee) but it was actually worse, so I ended up just coming back here. The people working can be nice or somewhat rude, depending on when you go, who you get and how busy it is. It's manageable, although not ideal. The photo department however, we will not use again. I've gotten pictures printed there on and off through the years and the quality has gone down each time. While we usually use Costco, sometimes it was more convenient to get it at Walgreens. Recently we picked up our order and they were TERRIBLE. The pictures were off-center so that there were actually edges of undeveloped film on one side. They were very fuzzy and unclear, although the images were high resolution and taken with a quality camera and very clear on a large computer screen. The paper didn't even have a company name on the back, so it's clear they are using low quality film rather than Kodak. Part of my order was missing and the whole thing looked like I printed it at home on a printer from 1992! We will not get any pictures there in the future. Basically, if there was a closer option that was better, I'd use it. Since there isn't, I make do, but I always try to make sure to start checking on my prescription well before I need it and I'll go other places for my film needs. read more

Well I was in there about 12:30 pm today Saturday on February 27. I was at the cash register to check out my items I brought. Well it upset me when the female wouldn't use my coupon for 7$ off before it expires on February 28 2021 tomorrow. Plus I had brought items that were well over $30 the Coupon said over $30. She had carelessly not run it through on the register computer properly. Plus she kept giving it back to me! I told her the coupon had not expired yet until the 28 tomorrow. I gave her back the coupon thinking she was going to read it carefully. But instead she rips it up. Wasting the $7 that I could have used, to bring down the cost of 60 something, and plus I can't locate the receipt That I should have had. To prove my grievance I have about her careless conduct. I rate her a 0!!!!! However I used my debit card. I think she's making my life hard because I look particularly black it's not my fault and did not ask to be put on earth to get half a- - service!!!
