Hidden gem of hillcrest. Great place to go for prescriptions. Staff are knowledgable and always eager to help. No waiting, no lines.

Location/Ambiance: *Convenient downtown location, about a 14-minute walk from Cortez Hill and close to the trolley and Ross. *Be aware of your surroundings as there are many suspicious eyes, transients, and homeless people. *Prices are a little friendlier than 7-Eleven and some other neighborhood markets. *Larger, well-stocked, and reasonably priced especially when using your CVS coupons! *The outside is worn and not particularly inviting, but the inside is bigger than expected, and what I call "organized chaos." *Most items are locked up especially the snacks I frequently buy. Felt like a treasure hunt looking for my usuals. *There was a good selection of snacks, drinks, and CVS essentials, though the grocery section is limited and some of the aisles felt cramped. Customer service: *Staff were friendly (one cashier and one I saw on the floor). They were quick to assist me. *Self-checkout was easy (3 machines); stress-free and in/out in 10 minutes. It's the best option if you're in a rush. Overall: *Nothing special, but it's convenient, generally well-stocked, and gets the job done. Not the prettiest CVS, but useful when you need something close by.

To be fair, I feel safe parking ny car here and there are parking spots available. I got tired of looking for parking for 45m during lunch hours. Its impossible to find one on orange or nearby. I might as well pay for parking. This parking is convenient and easy.

I was visiting Coronado and walking with a friend along Orange. Since it was summertime, it was…read morequite hot, and at one point, I needed to grab a cold bottle of water. Then, I happened upon Walgreens! I was delighted to find regular Walgreens prices right on Coronado, where I expected a cold bottle of water to be $5 or more. I ended up getting two large bottles for $3 using a Walgreens deal. I just used some W Cash Rewards that had been saved for quite some time, and now, when checking out, I have to start earning my W Cash Rewards from scratch again. I enjoy the occasional visit to Walgreens, where I typically see it as a good excuse to stock up on paper goods, such as Kleenex or facial tissues, which I often run out of at home. I found multiple options for brands, box sizes, ply count, and whether they were soft or had lotion on them. I do enjoy just walking around the store as you never know what you will find. While walking around this time, I noted that this store regularly keeps the aisles looking good and the items in stock, though I also saw employees restocking items and changing price tags in various aisles. When I was checking out, there was one person ahead of me, but the line moved quickly, and once I entered my phone number for my rewards program, my transaction went through quickly, too. The W Cash Rewards program is free to sign up for and easy to use. You earn back 1% in Walgreens Cash rewards storewide, even at the pharmacy, and 5% in rewards on Walgreens branded products. There are also sales prices automatically unlocked and other savings coupons, where you can earn reward dollars by making a purchase after selecting a given coupon. Sometimes the coupons are on a receipt from your most recent purchase. You can also find other coupons on the app or the website (or in a booklet or ad when you arrive at the store). While I do not frequent Walgreens as often as other drug stores, I often wonder why, when I happen to visit a Walgreens store, as it's so easy to shop there, and my experiences are often very pleasant. Though on Coronado, I would consider my visit to Walgreens to be a big success!!

I tend to avoid going to CVS, but I like this location primarily because the staff are friendly. They also have a pharmacy, and since the bankruptcy of Rite Aid, there are ten-people-deep lines to pick up medication. They do have three self-checkout lines, but the machines are really finicky and freeze up frequently. There is a large parking lot because it is located in a strip mall, but it is always busy. The best time I have found to go is around 7:00 to 8:00 AM.

This is regarding getting a Covid vaccine booster at the pharmacy on Saturday 09/19/2026…read more My husband and I arrived 15 minutes before our 10am appointment and even though we were next in line in the "vaccination appointment" window, the vet tech ignored us and checked in a woman who walked up to the Rx drop off window and proceeded to sign her up for a walk up vaccine appointment. Once the vet tech apparently checked us in, about 20-30 minutes later our last name was called. We asked which one of us she wanted to see first and she informed us that my husband had been checked in and insurance verified however I had been marked as not checked in, because my insurance had not been linked. She offered to let them know and then proceeded to help other patients. Not knowing how long she was going to take before letting them know, I got back in line to resolve the issue. Spoke to the head pharmacist who verified I had not been checked in, to which the previous vet tech just looked and mumbled "oh sorry" to me. At this point it was 40 minutes past my appointment. The head pharmacist then got me fully checked in and insurance verified. I waited a couple more minutes when the vaccine technician started to call another name. When I asked when I was going to be seen (because the employees messed up with the check in, not me) she proceeded to show me the queue and that I was at the bottom. My husband and I asked if there was any service recovery that can be done and she kept re-explaining where I was in the queue but would do her best to see me next. The next person she called was not making themselves known so my husband and I asked again if we could please go next as we were almost an hour past our appointment and I still needed to get my vaccine. She finally agreed and I was done in less than 5 minutes. A scheduled appointment that should have taken only about 10 minutes took an hour.
