Okay it's been 10 years and it's time for an update. First of all, I pretty much stopped coming…read morehere for several years as I just didn't enjoy it at all so after striking out at two other grocery stores looking for puff pastry a few days before Christmas, this was my last shot before I threw in the towel. As I pulled in I had no expectations and if anything just figured it wouldn't be great based off of previous visits a decade ago. All that to be said, when I walked in I was pleasantly surprised by the updated look of the place. They've obviously put some effort into modernizing the store and it showed. I made my way over to where pie crusts are and voila, there she was, my puff pastry! Only a few left but I found it and was elated. Checkout was a breeze and while this store isn't as convenient to me as it was a decade ago, it's good to know it's around and that it does deliver when you are in a pinch.

You can tell they are not about customer service and want to avoid paying their workers past closing. They should change their closing time back 30 minutes so the last minute customers can be helped professionally. I hated to see the young ladies working lower their heads in shame while the owner stood on the side like a micromanager. I could go on from here, but I will not. I may give them another try, but I will not go in close to closing time.

As a Black woman in JoCo, it is hard to find a beauty supply store tailored to us without driving to "urban areas." JoCo is what I consider an urban hair care desert, and often Black women and other POCs will settle for less. Product inventory: 9.5/10 The store is well stocked with a variety of items. I had no issue finding what I needed at a decent price. Customer service: 8.5/10 This is a sticking point for this location according to previous reviews. The ladies working today were personable. They spoke when I walked in and professionally interacted with customers. I know I looked lost for a second looking for one item I needed, and it would have been nice if they offered to assist, but it wasn't a deal breaker this visit. I also felt like I wasn't being watched as other reviewers have mentioned. Shop at home: 10/10 Star Beauty has a website where you can shop and have items sent to your home, which is nice. From what I could tell, the online inventory was pretty decent and beat getting out in the cold. They offer free shipping after spending $60. Overall: 8.75/10 The store had exactly what I needed. It is in a good location with great product inventory. Black women have other options like Bunny's in KCK or Olathe Beauty, but Star Beauty is my recommendation.

She raved about it and immediately became addicted saying it was the best she's had ever. I tried it. Incredible difference from any Butter Pecan I've ever had. Other brands taste like vanilla ice cream with stale pecans mixed in. Yours has a distinct buttery flavor & texture, and the pecans are so fresh. I write as a very satisfied customer, as is Lisa. All flavors we've tried are top quality. You need not worry about competition from the dozen other places in the area. Yours is the absolute best. That along with outstanding customer service will level the competition. If you can find a way to get your cart out there and get more people to taste it, they'll show up at your store. Maybe clear your smaller garage bay and store it there on a trailer. Leave coupons for shut-ins like John Knox & other convalescent homes for Door Dash delivery. Also nail & hair salons since folks are already out, have waited forever and are now deserving of a treat. Just some thoughts you've likely already thought of. I think more local exposure will draw customers who might not shop in that area very often or simply can't get there. We very much look forward to our next delicious treat!

The store is always clean and most of the items are stocked up which are always at a good value, so no complaints there. I never had any issues at billing or at the returns desk either. The bakery always has fresh food items - love the hot dogs, chicken bake and pizzas it has to offer!! Its clean and up to the mark. However, I'm not a big fan of the cafe being next to the tire center because the seating area faces right at the tire center entrance, and I really don't like the chemical smell that's always around there. Otherwise, I have no complaints and I just love my neighborhood Costco. To beat the rush, always go by 8 pm to shop on weekdays, it's usually empty at that time. Happy Shopping
