I was at CVS in Mission, KS a few days ago. I heard and saw the pharmacist yelling at a middle-aged woman because she took his photo. Not sure what lead up to it, but the behavior that I observed from the CVS employees afterwards was shocking, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. I heard him yelling at her repeatedly to "get out now" and "you need to leave" and that he was refusing to fill her prescription just because she took his photo. He yelled, YELLED at this woman multiple times about her photo of him being a "HIPAA violation." This was all total BS. It was not, in fact, a HIPAA violation. He was spewing nonsense and she knew it. I heard HER quoting HIPAA law. Correctly. She never raised her voice and never insulted him for his obvious lack of knowledge, professionalism, and empathy. He was inept and his behavior was just disgusting. And totally wrong. Someone who works in healthcare, especially at CVS (which has been extremely problematic regarding HIPAA law and lost several lawsuits over HIPAA violations) should absolutely know HIPAA laws. He obviously did not. This customer didn't violate HIPAA. She knew it and moreover the pharmacist knew it. He was attempting to bully her because he apparently didn't like that she took his picture. To top it off, the pharmacist then lied to the store manager in order to get the customer kicked out of the store. Just deranged. I heard this poor woman asking the store manager if she could continue to sit for a few more minutes because she was disabled. But, the manager didn't listen. Instead, the manager threatened to call 911, I'm assuming to scare her. These CVS employees are real garbage individuals. I ended up having to wait in line, but I looked for the woman when I left. I'm an attorney specializing in healthcare and HIPAA and I would love to represent her against: the pharmacist - Waqas, the store manager - Pamela, and CVS for human rights violations, discrimination, and slander. As for shopping at CVS, I will not be going back. I will literally go anywhere else and pay more the next time my son needs cough medicine. I regret not saying something to her in the moment. But, she was holding her own, as far as knowing HIPAA law. I just can't believe he wouldn't give her the medication and then lied to have her removed from the store. She did nothing wrong. How is anyone supposed to trust a pharmacist to fill a prescription correctly, if he doesn't even know the federal laws that govern his profession, his job? I have zero trust in this pharmacy after witnessing the blatant lying, buffoonery, and willful ignorance on display. I'd advise others to also steer clear. read more

If you need to get Covid testing, make an appointment with literally any other location than this one unless you want to waste boatloads of your time! I had some Covid like symptoms leading into the weekend and wanted to play things safe as I have plans to see some elderly folks in the coming week. Made an appointment online for the next day which was easy enough, pulled in at the scheduled time with only two or three cars in front of me at the drive-thru. Didn't really move for a bit, but had a good podcast going. Then I started realizing they were averaging about 30+ minutes PER CAR to be tested. My prior experience took all of about 5 minutes per car. Side note, drinking epic amounts of coffee and water heading into this only escalated my impatience! Eventually, over an hour after my scheduled appointment I made it to the window. It was clear they were understaffed, but I would hope that during this pandemic, being staffed appropriately for testing is a priority. Definitely not the best experience, and hopefully they can make some tweaks to speed things along for those taking the precautions to get tested. That being said, the Covid situation isn't easy on anyone, including the pharmacists and those handling this. I guess I just wish it were streamlined as it appears it's going to be here for a while. read more

The pharmacy is regularly closed (not during their lunch break) without notice. I've gone to pickup my rx more than twice and they're just closed for the day. Understaffed. No one has answers there about how to get your rx when needed. Transferring to a different store despite this being the closest one to my house. read more

Their pharmacy is closed today. On a Thursday afternoon. I called the front of store to see when the pharmacy would reopen and the employee I spoke to said "hopefully tomorrow?" The reason is there is only one person who was scheduled today and they can't come in. CVS pharmacies are chronically understaffed! Why can't the higher-ups in corporate understand that? The pharmacy is the lifeblood of CVS! Shouldn't the head honchos of CVS do everything in their power to make sure they have the staff to keep the pharmacy open?! Listen to your employees and your customers, CVS! Maybe pay your people more and stop expecting them to manage impossible workloads! If you like waiting in lines and being treated like a criminal, you'll love this cvs. They'd rather turn you away, than provide you service. I've waited in line there for an hour while the phone rang the entire time and was never once answered. if you say a word about it, they immediately flag you're account and tell you to leave and not come back. there is a younger, small, dark haired Caucasian lady there that should never be allowed to work in a pharmacy ever. I'm sure a lot of people have suffered unnecessarily because of her clear and obvious disdain for those in need of medicine. Never send your prescriptions here, or they'll be held hostage. read more

I've been using this pharmacy for about 3 years and I've never had a long wait. They have a super cool robot that fills prescriptions! However, the human staff is less than friendly but fast. So overall, you get in and out, but don't expect a smile. Plus I get to check my blood pressure for free. Come on now, you know you cant resist checking everytime you see the little bench with the robo arm hole, its the adult version of the 50 cent mechanical horse ride! read more

I think I've been gone long enough to realize just how astonishing it is to have 24 hour pharmacy service. We don't have it in France and I don't know anywhere in Europe that does. Is it really necessary? Couldn't we just train people to get prescriptions before midnight or after 6am? I'd love to know just how many people actually get or leave scrips between those hours. :-) But - it seems as though whenever you go you should get great and friendly service. read more

horrible pharmacy needed antibiotic for surgery transferred. On hold 1st time 35 minutes, called back a subsequent 3 times to speak to store manager to have the pharmacy pick up the phone because it was an emergent need. on HOLD again each time for 30 more minutes for a total of 2 HOURS ON HOLD. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU NEED MEDICINE. I called another local pharmacy and the transfer order was done in less than 5 minutes. CVS, Close your pharmacy or learn how to work please. I stopped having my prescriptions filled there because they misplaced an Adderall Rx after I had dropped it off. I had to wait an extra day or two for them to find it and get it filled. It was a pretty careless mistake for dealing with a schedule II drug. read more

This CVS is about 2 miles from my house and open 24 hours. They have a decent beauty product, medication, body care, and snack supplies. I've never needed to use the pharmacy, so I don't know about that. I go to this CVS all of the time. read more

She took the time to help me find the on-line manufacturer coupon and it really saved me a lot of money! The store staff is extremely friendly and helpful. However, the pharmacy staff is the complete opposite. They are always grouchy and I've gotten used to that ... but after the way the Pharmacy manager treated me on 10/10/2019, I will never go back. After they messed up my refill -- which caused a delay, which in turn caused the Rx to expire, therefore making it necessary for me to take time off work and pay a $35 copay to go see my doctor for a renewal -- she was very condescending and even confrontational. She basically implied I was an idiot who couldn't read an Rx label and told me to bring in my old bottle so she could "prove it" to me. (Whatever that means!) Since she seemed ready for a fight when I first got there, I realize she may have been upset about something else that happened earlier in the day ... but don't take it out on me. I don't have to put up with that. I'll miss shopping at the store, but life is too short to deal with their pharmacy group. read more

I wish I had the positive experiences the others on this forum had with the CVS in Mission. I haven't. They always screw up simple orders. Sunday I called in a prescription and it was not redy that day even though they said it would. They told me to come in the next day. On Monday I came in and still no pills. They told me it would be ready fro sure on Tuesday. Tuesday comes and still not there. They told me to try Wednesday so will see if they are truthful or not. This has been a chronic problem of getting refills completed. My wife and I have decided to change pharmacies due to these quality control issues. I am worried that if they are this careless with this, the drugs may not be up to snuff. Buyer be ware!! read more
