Once again, TERRIBLE service at Walgreens. We only went because we were out of town and it was a name we knew. Walked in, 1:40 and pharmacy was closed for lunch, so we waited with the crowd. When they finally reopened, my husband asked about his prescription and the response was we won't have it until 5:00 PM, 3 hours, no, I m sorry for your inconvenience just rude and dismissive. If you have a loved one that is diagnosed with cancer of any kind and need to have pain prescriptions filled,DO NOT GO TO WALGREENS ON 27th ave and carefree highway if you do you will be treated like you were an OXY addict that is Dr. shopping! My mother had valid prescriptions sent to this pharmacy for a fentanyl patch an oxycodone to treat stage four pancreatic cancer they denied her the fentanyl patch said that they had faxed to the doctor to make sure it was OK to issue both... They say they have to have the doctor say it's OK... No problem issuing the oxycodone but they can't do balls apparently four weeks later my mother still doesn't have her pain medication and I am still being treated like I am some sort of freaking addict! This pharmacy and the text that they have there have absolutely no concept of how to treat a cancer patient that is dying literally before them! They need to be given training regarding exactly how many doctors terminal cancer patients have and how many different agencies are likely to be issuing pain prescriptions to manage the pain! I am having all of our prescriptions removed from this pharmacy I have never been treated more poorly and in more of a derogatory manner ever in my entire life! read more

This is mostly a review of the convenience store, which checks off all the boxes. Large selection of cosmetics - includes most brands except for the higher end ones. The size of this section is comparable or even better than most Targets and Walmarts. Miscellany in plenty - Solid variety of personal hygiene products and household items. Good selection of over the counter medications. Food section is small and limited, but why come here for that when there's Fry's and Albertsons both within a 1 mile radius. Other knickknacks include clothes, shoes, toys, etc. Photo - There's a kiosk in this section that allows you to plug in your phone and make a custom photo album, great for gifts! Pretty simple process, just create it and pick up within a week or so. Passport photos are also available! But pricier than Costco. Service - Fairly friendly, employees are super helpful when you need to find something. Pharmacy - I've had limited encounters with the pharmacy here, but it is certainly among the less efficient ones out there. Pickup line always takes a long time, even when there's just a couple people ahead of you. More often that not it seems like they experience some kind of customer dispute. Not exactly sure what the issue is, but the service here is touch and go. read more

Please believe the reviews about the pharmacy staff being slow, rude and unprofessional. When your child is in pain and needs their prescription that was sent in to them at 6:30pm, how can putting a few common antibiotic pills in a bottle take almost 24 hours to complete? Even having the doctor's office call and explain the situation didn't help. There is just no excuse for this, and obviously no one at the store or company cares because nothing is being done to correct it. So, it's up to us. Go to a different store. I will be switching my prescription to Fry's. Walgreens has always been less than helpful at this location however due to its close proximity I dealt with the long lines and slow service. I had an Abdominoplasty and the surgeon was sending my prescriptions for antibiotics and pain management to this location. Called Walgreens and they said they didn't have it, dr said they have sent it multiple times. Called again and waited on hold for 30 minutes to get a rude tech that said they don't have it and that they either send it electronically or call. I told her I just waiting on hold for 30 minutes trying to get through and a dr most likely won't do that and she pretty much said that isn't her problem. Seriously????? read more

This Walgreens is great aside from one employee in particular which is Barbara. I should have complained about her the first time when she refused to sell me (26 years old) a Redbull and insisted I had to be forty something years of age to purchase. FORTY. ?!?! She told me her system wouldn't allow it. When I tried explaining to her that I've never been asked for ID for a redbull and that it must be a glitch she didn't once try to solve the issue or even act apologetic in the slightest and let me leave empty handed lol In my following visits since then, she's been entirely unfriendly and on multiple occasions has let me stand at the checkout counter for at least 5 minutes before acknowledging me. However, she would make eye contact with me and continue to stock the shelves (the shelves that are at the register) while I stand there with my one item and the only person in line. When she finally decides to take her precious 30 seconds of time to attend to me and ring me up, she never says a word, no smile, nothing. I've had it with Barbara. Pharmacy specific review: Don't even bother with this store, send your prescriptions to a different Walgreens. Absolutely horrible customer service. Extremely unprofessional staff. The pharmacy employees act entitled and rude when they can't even do their job right. Etiquette training would be beneficial honestly. They need to learn how to talk to people like they are people. They act like the issues with your prescription is your own fault. You have to micromanage them for them to get their job done. There's always "issues with the insurance," when it's there job to deal with the insurance. The patient shouldn't have to do their job for them. I've never had issues with CVS, but unfortunately my insurance is now contracted with Walgreens. Run away from this store. read more

This store had a bad rap on the drive thru prescriptions. And to be candid? I experienced the same a few days ago. But since that day, the store manager did her magic, cracked the whip, or whatever. Results? It was really interesting. Once again, I was in a line, but this time the average per car in front of me was less than 2 minutes per car. Horrible!!!! If you can go to a different pharmacy, do it!! Took 3 weeks for to get me my medication! 3 weeks!! They always say the didn't get a shipment, doctor didn't do it right, etc. I think they put their worst pharmacists at this location!!!!! I even had the pharmacist say for one prescription that it's a waste of their money to order my medication since I was getting a small quantity of what I needed, but if I call the doctor and request a higher dose than she will order it for me. I was pleasantly surprised today when filling new prescriptions at Walgreens. I have been a customer for years. In the past, actively avoiding filling scripts here because of historically slow, stressful, and overall frustrating experiences. Today was different. First I called to find out if the prescriptions that had been faxed were available. A pleasant associate informed me they were available and the pharmacy was open till 10 o'clock. I had an additional script to fill and she said the wait time would be around 15 to 20 minutes. I arrived around 6.30 pm, likely a peak time. At the pharmacy I was greeted immediately and there was no wait! The tech reviewed the new Rx & updated some information, and gave a 20 minute promise time. There are several clean fairly comfortable chairs in a waiting area. Most people I imagine, browse the store or maybe dash to Dairy Queen while waiting. My order was ready quickly, definitely under the 20 minutes. The tech knew I was waiting and called me as soon as my Rx was available. The customer service today was pleasant, attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, prompt, professional, and efficient. WOW! What a turnaround. Thank you to all the staff for providing a hassle-free, efficient, enjoyable experience. I won't dread filling my scripts here anymore and anticipate further improvements. Waiting inside seems a lot nicer than waiting in the car. Historically I have truged the gauntlet of the drive-through lane three cars deep in two lanes. That just isn't fun. Waiting in your car if you're super sick or injured or have 4 kids and a puppy is SMART, but waiting in a cool clean and comfortable store is an efficient way to avoid the line! We all know filling prescriptions can be a hassle and a blow to the budget when you have to you have to pay expensive copays and out of pocket cost for medications. For many years, even with insurance I went without medication because it was so expensive. For some reason it seems like out of pocket cost for my medications are shockingly high at Walgreens. There are many tools you can use to shop around such as an app I use to compare prices. Arizona offers the Copper State Prescription Discount Card to any citizen of the State. It is accepted by select pharmacies. Sign up through the Office of the Governor for the legit card. Unfortunately, I do not think Walgreens accepts this state sponsored program. you can compare prices. I've had to pay out of pocket here in the cost has been outrageous! tl;dr - Pharmacy has stepped up their game and the wait is not torture. Clean store and pleasant associates. Pro tip: avoid peak hours like right after work. If conditions permit, it is a more pleasant experience to walk into the pharmacy vs waiting in the drive thru. read more

I usually use the Walgreens in Anthem. They are always very helpful. Today they were closed and after spending 2 hours at Urgent care I needed to pick up an antibiotic. The doc sent it over to this Walgreens. I waited an hour and a half to give them time to fill it. When I arrived I was "greeted" by Gabbi. She looked up my information and said they "just received" my prescription and would text me when it was ready. She didn't ask me fir any other info. I asked her if it would be soon and she became very short - reminding me they had "just" received it and it would take 1-2 hours to get it ready. She was so rude I stood there with my mouth hanging open and then said I'd be back. When I returned Gabbi was again at the window. She found my prescription and then asked "are you aware your insurance denied this"? (Seriously? How the heck would I know that?) she then proceeded to ask for my insurance snd address. By that time I was so furious I just paid and left before I could say something mean to her. I will NEVER use this pharmacy of my own free will again. Very rude staff. This seems to be consistent with the 3 times I've had to pick up a prescription. First of all I called in my prescription on a Wednesday. They told me it would be ready on Thursday. I showed up on Friday at 1:55 and they were closed lol. So came back Saturday and the lady behind the desk is filing prescription packages directly in front of me and never even acknowledged that I was standing there. She clearly saw me. I had to clear my throat 5 minutes later to get her attention. Then she has this very short terse way of taking to me as if I was bothering her to pick up my prescription. She tells me the prescription won't be ready until Monday. I told her I called it in three days ago and they said it would be ready on Thursday. I also said I was here yesterday at around 2pm and she says in a very rude tone "we have been closed from 12-1:30 for lunch for over a year now". Really???? I'm practically a new customer and sorry I'm not aware of your lunch schedule lol. Anyways I will be switching pharmacies. That's completely ridiculous how this staff treats their customers. Not even an apology for Walgreens being late on my medication. Her name is Savannah and I would suggest to Walgreens to send their pharmacy staff to get some training in customer service as this seems to be how they treat customers. Terrible, Unprofessional service from Monica the pharmacy manager. She filled my son's epi pen prescription with a two pack that expires 1/2019 and a two pack that expires less than a year from when I can get it renewed expiring 8/2018. The prescriptions were bagged in paper and stapled shut. I only saw the expiration date when I arrived home five minutes later and immediately called. I was hung up on the first call. The second call the technician apologized and said they did have another box with the January 2019 expiration date but it was up to the pharmacy manager, her call, whether or not they would exchange it. Monica very unsympathetically said well its just 20 days short of the year...(actually 25 as today is the 25th Monica) and sorry thats our policy. I asked its your policy to give me a prescription that expires before I can renew it? She responded that Walgreens only needs to guarantee six months. She couldn't respond if that applied to such prescriptions as epi pens. At $375 for 2 units (we need 4 units per year) you would think the MINIMUM expiration would be one year. And it should. Buyer beware of this Walgreens as it is apparent they don't care for needs of customers and will give you less for more. If Walgreens management would like to reach out to me and rectify this matter I would appreciate that. read more

When they tried to process for insurance, they couldn't because Walgreens had already charged insurance for a prescription that was never picked up. THIS IS INSURANCE FRAUD. I called Walgreens corporate to file an official complaint and they "promised" they were going to take it to upper management and that someone would call me (they never did.) Target did an amazing job calling my insurance company, and Walgreens to sort the whole mess out. I got my prescriptions, but WOW what a freaking hassle! read more

The pharmacy is terrible!!!!!!!!!!! Only reason we're filling here is because Costco is closed on Sunday's! Picking up 4 prescriptions, 1 electronically sent, 1 called in, and 2 dropped off. I called ahead to let them know one had been called in over an hour ago and she informed me that they wouldn't be listening to their phone prescriptions for up to 2 hours. To which I replied, I'm headed in to pick up the 3 others so can't you have someone listen to the phone orders and get that ready for me? A flat out no was my response. Trainee Dakota said only one of my prescriptions that my doctor called it was in stock, and rudely told me multiple times to just come back the next day and get the rest after I already informed her I do not live nearby that location. I asked to have them transferred to another location and she was argumentative and rude from the very start of my interaction, and days later I'm finding out she never even transferred my prescription to the other location. Called the manager to address the interaction and find my prescriptions and claimed he knew her as a person so it was my fault that she was rude and unprofessional. When I told him I would not be returning to their location he said that would be best for both parties. Unbelievably low standard of service. Never once acknowledged or apologized for any inconvenience, instead blamed me. read more

This is for the pharmacy. I had a prescription sent on Friday at 4 pm. Tried to use the automated system to see if it was there and it wasn't. Called this morning - Sunday- and the pharmacy indicated it wasn't. This is not the first time this has happened. And if you go pick up a prescription I have waited usually a minimum of 20 minutes. My husband transferred everything to CVS at Jomax and they are much faster to use without hassle. Moving all mine there too. Otherwise the store is fine- very busy. read more

There is a huge lack of customer service, urgency, or team work/ team support! This is for everyone in regards to the Pharmacy.... I have read every review here and cant help but laugh at some. This Pharmacy processes an average of 500 scripts A DAY! The minimum time to process each individual script is 8 mins through computer system not to count that there are other customers and/or problems that need to be addressed. There may be one or two staff members that may be slower than you would like but overall the pharmacy team is great. The pharmacy manager as well as the senior techs have always went above and beyond their duties in handling any issues that arise from people's prescriptions. I have personally had many issues on scripts or insurances and with a little patience, those items were resolved. Many people forget that these staff members want nothing more than to sell you your medication. They are NOT your insurance, they are NOT your doctor, and you are NOT the only person wanting their medication. I was in line the other day 2/15/2017 and overheard another woman in line complaining about having to wait the 15 minutes in line. I turned around and said, "You do understand that they fill 500+ prescriptions a day, don't you?" Of course the woman was not aware of how many scripts come through this pharmacy EACH and EVERY DAY. Her tone immediately changed now that she realized that this pharmacy is not intentionally trying to screw her on her medications. I think the big problem here is that 80% of people making these complaints don't take the time to realize all that the pharmacy has to do in order to make sure you get the CORRECT MEDICINE so you don't experience any dangerous side effects or worse, death. There are many precautions that have to be done/checked before selling any medication. So before you use any pharmacy, take a moment and think about how many other people like yourself want their medicine and show a little PATIENCE and KINDNESS. The world does NOT revolve around just you. read more

Other than a couple of the pharmacist who really try and care- the service here is awful. You can wait up to 20 minutes to pick up a perscription even if you the only one in line. They have lost my perscriptions countless times and show a general lack of concern. why management does not staff them correctly is beyond me.The growth in the area has been a major boom for all. The store itself is usually well maintained, stocked and clean. I have had no issues with checkout at the store counter or the photo department. My photo orders have always been correct and complete when promised. The pharmacy department though itself is awful. The service is sloooooooooooooow. It doesn't matter whether you go inside the store or the drive thru, the service is slow. It doesn't matter if there are 10 people ahead of you or 0 people ahead of you, the service is slow. It doesn't matter if there is a line of people waiting, the employees including managers will just stand and talk as if they have nothing else to do while you wait. While there are a couple of techs who are personable and pleasant, the rest including all of the pharmacists I have ever encountered are not. They act as though you should be happy they are helping you. On more than one occasion, they have either not run prescriptions through my insurance or not done it correctly. They then get very aggravated when you ask them to correct their mistake and sometimes will not even admit they have made a mistake until you tell them you will not take the prescription then if they are not going to charge you the right price for it. If it were possible to rate the pharmacy only, I would give them 0 stars. However, given my positive experiences with the regular store and photo department, I am assigning 2 stars but I want to be clear just how awful this pharmacy is and why I am in the process of switching all my prescription needs to the new Fry's on Dove Valley. read more
