This Walgreens ruined our Christmas. On December 19, I purchased two $100 Sephora gift cards from this store as Christmas gifts for my daughters. I gave them on Christmas Eve, trusting that a major retailer would not sell fraudulent products. A few days later, when one of my daughters tried to use her gift card, we were told at Sephora that the card was FAKE with a $0 balance. What should have been a happy holiday moment turned into confusion, disappointment, and stress for my children. Christmas gifts are supposed to be special -- instead, my daughters were left feeling embarrassed and heartbroken because Walgreens sold us counterfeit gift cards. When I contacted Walgreens customer service, I was treated with complete indifference. They were dismissive, uninterested, and clearly did not care that my family lost money due to a scam that happened inside their store. I was told it was "not their responsibility," and the claim was closed with no real investigation or concern. Sephora confirmed the cards were not legitimate -- real Sephora gift cards have 16 digits, while the ones sold to me had only 14 digits. That means Walgreens allowed fraudulent gift cards to be sold directly to customers. Because Walgreens refused to take responsibility, I was forced to file a police report. That should never be necessary for something purchased at a trusted pharmacy. DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS HERE. Walgreens will not protect you if you get scammed. Their customer service does not care that they ruined a family's Christmas. This experience destroyed our trust in Walgreens and turned what should have been a joyful holiday into a stressful and upsetting situation. read more

I got a covid very bad symptoms and I don't have anyone to pick up my Paxlovid, I heard about delivery service contactless and I called the pharmacy to get medicine, it was morning.I was waiting patiently until 1pm , I called again pharmacy to ask what happened, my symptoms worsening up the pharmacist said it's coming. After 1 hour I called again, same answer...Long story short, it's arrived after 4PM and I found out that pharmacist scheduled pickup at 3PM ? Horrible customer service - waiting in line at the pharmacy for 15 min. Get to the counter to pick up my refill that I filled through automated phone 2 days prior. Prescription not ready and told it would not be ready until after the pharmacist returns from his dinner break, which he was scheduled to go in 15 min. Basically telling me I had to wait 45 minutes. Two weeks ago I went to get a prescription filled for some allergy medicine. Took over two hours for them to fill it. It was ointment. Take it out of one box and put it in a bag and hand it to me. NOT HARD. Today (Sunday) my daughter and I went to pick up a medication that she called in for on last Wednesday. They said it would be ready on Thursday (which was Thanksgiving and they were closed). She went to pick it up Friday, no pills. She didn't go on Saturday due to being busy. We go in today, Sunday, and they tell her they don't have the pills at this location. Now we have to drive to the Walgreens at Cumberland and Touhy. Why tell customer that it will be ready at this location if they DON"T HAVE IT IN STOCK????? POOOOOOOOOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE PHARMACY. The pharmacy service at this location is horrible. I agree with others when they say the lines at the pharmacy are always horrible. My daughter has now moved her medications to the other location. When I have to get any prescriptions in the future, I will be going elsewhere. read more

This has been my go-to Walgreen's for a while now. I only shop there - my insurance has me going to a differently branded pharmacy. But as far as shopping goes, my experience has been good. They typically have what I'm looking for - seems like I've had issues in the past at other Walgreen's with them running out of some items. But more importantly, the staff here is always polite and helpful. I usually see Imelda when I stop there - she's always nice, helpful and full of good conversation. This review is for the pharmacy. Shopping for medication, maximum strength 1200mg time release tablets, approximately 8-10 cards in the bin. Removed the card go wait in line to redeem the medicine, 15 minutes later hand my card to the person at the counter, comes back with 600mg package?? I brought the card up for 1200mg's what gives?? "We are out of that particular medication" then remove the cards from the bin and save me 15 minutes, the cards should reflect the actual quantity that is currently available. Simple, apparently not. The pharmacy at Cumberland and Lawrence used to be the best and open 24 hours and then they went to midnight and then they went to 11PM and Walgreens must not really care because there is always a long line throughout the store, so it's not that they're not busy enough to stay open later or hire more people. Get it together! All you do is just service the people who need you the most. read more

This Walgreens is one of the worst that I have been to. Their pharmacists are just horrible. Customer service is below par. They never answer phones. The doctor forwarded the prescription two days ago and still not filled??? What are they doing there? If I could only rate no star, I would! That's how worst this branch is. So you're in charge of the Cumberland and Lawrence Walgreens Pharmacy, who do you hire as your pharmacist?: 1) An experienced pharmacist who is efficient and maybe 1 or 2 student pharmacists so they could learn the ropes; -or 2) 5 -10 kids straight out of pharm school with little-to-no experience running around the pharmacy like chickens with their heads cut off so that you can save money. If you chose door number 2, give your self a pat on the back and sign yourself up for a management level position at the -W-. Highly Recommended for anyone who wishes to wait around the pharmacy for six hours straight and watch these would-be-pharmacists re-enact Project Runway by walking back and forth between their computer stations and the counter. 6 months since we move and due to insurance we have to have Walgreens. This is closer. We have been using this site for my son's prescription never have I ever had a pharmacy that's when u refill its not always in stock? Don't they do inventory on items needed most by customers? And the bad luck was, a prescription was refilled on line which I loved because it's convenient and you can track the progress of your prescription. During the process it's was still in progress from Sunday to Monday afternoon . Come Monday evening we got notification on the app when I check that the prescription is ready for pick up but partial refill. Ok then so when we attempted to pick up , my husband was told by the Technician? That's is not available because the medication is not in stock? I was furious when he got home and told me. I called and talked to someone, so I informed him of what is going on all he could say was "he was not sure why we were sent the notice" and he was just filling in. I dont care if your casual, temp,, you should at least know the answer! but to me it was not a glitch on the app it's negligence on the staff! It's when they process the medication that the app updates itself too. It's was a waste of our time to go there at 9pm when in fact it was not even available? My questions are this is not the only time that my prescription is not in stock. This is actually the 2nd time I got an incorrect notification that it's ready when it's not. They should hire competent staff that knows what they are doing. It's not amusing to be played upon. Who did process the medicine owe to get a re training on what to do. Why update the portal for partial refill ??? I get it they don't have stock? So why nobody gave us a call if we want to try other Walgreens? This medication can't be missed. And yet that Technician I talked to only asked when I got passed off if I wanted to try to pick it up in another store? At 930 pm. The staff at the pharmacy dept. Needs an overhaul or re training as I have suggested. Customers service is important and stocks of customers prescription is very very important. Do your I inventory correctly and properly. I had a bad experienced in this Walgreens branch 3 times with the Pharmacy operation Manager. He was so rude. 1st, with my medication he answered me rude while I have questions with my medicines. He said are you saying the Pharmacist was wrong? I said I did not say that. I said I have questions with my medicine. 2nd, I accompany my dad for his covid booster shot in the same location. He was slamming the drawers, the stapler, cashier machine in the counter when he knew that we came in for a vaccine. He was with the Pharmacist, and he was the only Pharmacy tech that time, then when we were at the room, he did the same thing. I asked him is everything okay? and he gave me a blank stare, He never put bandage on my dad's arm after the vaccine. No explanation afterwards, NOTHING! I let it pass, I was thinking he was the only tech working in the counter. Lastly, I went at the store to pick up my medicine. I asked him, I think the medicines boxes count was wrong, If you can see my refill last time and he answered me (rudely) Where do you think I was looking? I was looking at your chart. I said excuse me? I am taking that medicine for how many years now that is why I catch your attention before paying it. When I said I will not get the medicine he called the Pharmacist and the Pharmacist explained to me that the Dr. made a mistake on the dosage. The word I'd use to describe this Walgreen's is...ghetto! Went last night to fill a script after an unexpected (yuck!) visit to the urgent care down the street. We walked in and there was a HUGE line of folks who looked either high AF or just plain bewildered. It was after 11 pm, but so many adults who looked like they had just crawled out of bed or from behind the pipe... The poor pharmacist behind the counter was totally alone. He was trying to answer the phone, work through the line of patrons AND fill scripts. I felt awful for him and know it wasn't his fault that we waited almost 20 minutes in line...ALONE. However, Walgreen's Pharmacy staffing manager - you need to get it together. The experience was ridiculous and I will never set foot in this Walgreen's again let alone get my scripts filled here. It never fails that "when" I actually need a prescription of any kind, I can count on the. Cumberland Walgreens to screw things up. No one can figure anything out. Always people waiting. Pharmacy workers all staring at screens instead of handling waiting customers. I never have these issues at other Walgreens. Just this one, it seems like it's a mix of confusion, incompetence and failure to be able to multi-task. Something I would think would be a pre-req to work in a pharmacy anywhere. Bottom line, they claim "we are always backed up". If you "need" something filled; go somewhere else. Unless you need cards, batteries, simple items, then they are ok. If you're suffering and in bad shape, might be faster to pay the ER co-pay and get the meds right away, or you could end up taking a dirt nap at the Walgreens speed. read more

My impression started when I walked in to this Walgreens. It's the typical feeling of walking into a lowest bidder situation when it comes to the construction of a place. The lack of style and over bright florescent lighting reminds me of a hospital. Only difference is that hospitals are sterol and I wouldn't put anything in my mouth that came off a shelf from this place. The slogan "be well!" Sounds like, "good luck!" To me. As in the employees feel like I may have caught something whilst browsing their store. But the pharmacy on the other hand is like a whole different place. My initial impression as I came around the corner of the Nexium 24 hour shelfs was an angel with blonde hair and blue scrubs. I was greeted with a smile and she was even concerned that I was getting pain meds, I stood there and told her the entire story of how I crashed my motorcycle and broke my hand. The service was fast and caring despite the amount of people who needed to be helped. The pharmacy tech helping me was answering calls the entire time! Do not get any vaccines here, especially not a vaccine for your toddler or child. Make an appointment elsewhere. I made an appointment for my 3 year old's Covid vaccine 2 days ago, and when I showed up for it today, they said they were not aware of my appointment. They told me it would be a half hour so they could get stuff ready, which is fine. I miraculously got my 3 year old to sit still while we waited. When it was finally time to go into the vaccine room, the pharmacist said she could not give the vaccine unless my toddler was perfectly still and perfectly quiet. I totally understand needing her to be perfectly still, but I think it is pretty normal for a 3 year old who is being held down to be upset. I finally got my daughter quiet while distracting her with candy, and the pharmacist decided to do the poke out of no where when I didn't have a great grip on her, so of course my daughter flinched and she pulled the shot out of her arm before injecting it. She asked me if there was a reason I could not do it with my pediatrician and if my toddler needed it for school and I said my pediatrician didn't have an appointment for 1-2 months for the vaccine and I am voluntarily doing it. So she just tells me to check with the ped then. She acted like this was inconveniencing her whole day and didn't even give us a fair chance. I wish I would have gotten her name but I was too distracted and walked out very upset. Walgreens should not offer vaccines for toddlers if they a) are not allowed to give shots in the thigh as the pharmacist claimed and b) do not have the patience to deal with a toddler who is going to (understandably) cry. I decided to use this Walgreens Pharmacy due to it being open 24 hrs a day, which comes in very convenient with my work schedule. I'm not someone to really write reviews, I've worked in the hospitality industry and understand how STUPID and miniscule some of the reviews may be... but i do know that they get read and dealt with and that is the only reason i'm writing this... The pharmacy department needs to strive to all be on the same page... I have prescriptions that I CANNOT run out of, so i always call in and inquire about the date that they are able to be refilled so it is as convenient as possible for me... however for the last 3 months the staff can't make up their mind on when my prescription can be filled.... If I'm told by your staff that i can refill on a certain date and this is after you're staff reviews when the insurance will cover it... i don't see how for some reason me calling back 30 minutes later would change the date to the 31st....and then when i called to complained the next staff member told me it couldn't be filled till the 4th of november.... People go to a pharmacy to pick up medicines. Many come directly from their doctors visit. Some are so weak and sick that they could barely make it to their doctors appointment. This is me I'm talking about! Now I go to my neighborhood Walgreens to pick up my meds' as all I want to do is go home to bed as I'm so weak I could barely stand. BUT.......now I have to wait for 25 minutes in the long pharmacy line, only to learn that they are running 2 hours behind on filling prescriptions & I'd have to come back when its ready. They said they'd text me when its ready. I asked if I'd Have to wait in the long line again. They said Yes! I asked if it could be delivered' they said yes, it would cost 6 bucks, so I told them yes, to deliver it please. Then they told me my credit card info would have to be stored on their system. I said fine, do it, as I knew I was too weak to return. They said they couldn't do it. Whaaaaaaat????? So, I go home, take over the counter stuff & go to Sleep, .........12 hours later......BO TEXT. So I will be there when the pharmacy opens at 8, hoping if I go early, there won't be a line. This is horrible!! Running 2 hours late on filling scripts at a time when so many folks are sick fighting this horrible flu & colds & pneumonia!!!! Hire more staff!
