The pharmacist here is seriously the nicest and most helpful I've encountered in a while. Very knowledgeable and professional. The store itself is convenient, clean, with easy parking. The pickup situation for online orders isn't the best at this location, but it's still one of the better stores in the area. They never answer the phone (I've waited a minimum of 30 minutes every time I've called). They're rude and very unwilling to help if they're out of something. They literally won't even check other Walgreens to see if an item is there so you're forced calling each one near you wasting 30-60 minutes each time you call because as I said, they dont answer the phone. read more

Normally I don't write reviews on something so simple, but I must give credit where it's due. All I did was purchase exfoliating wipes, water, a monster, and a gallon water. It was difficult holding all of my items, and I accidentally dropped my monster energy drink on the ground. This was as I was walking up to the register. The lady (I should have gotten her name) was super sweet and practically demanded that I go back to the cooler and get a fresh can. She waited for me, and the store was busy. I am back in school taking Medical Assisting classes right now. Currently I am researching a diversity assignment. It had me going back through older chapters on patient care. One of the things the book pointed out, was how limited we are as professionals, to extend empathy. Now, I understand how we shouldn't accept gifts, or give them to patients. What I want to point out is that many of the professionals teaching me right now, are so afraid to show empathy. There's a difference between someone who is mechanically going through the motion of extending empathy. Also, there are people who understand how to extend empathy while remaining genuine, without throwing your own self under the bus with a patient. That's what makes great customer service in any setting. It was so simple, but it was the genuine nature of the customer service representative which made me want to cry for no reason. Part of the Norridge Commons shopping area across from the HIP (Harlem Irving Park) shopping complex, this Walgreens is a hit! Not happy that one can't enter the parking lot from the north or west, I illegally entered from Irving Park and got the ol' stink eye from someone exiting. Not super convenient entry points, but once you're in like Flynn, the specials abound! Found face cleanser 2/$6 that another Walgreens was selling for $5.49 ea. Win! Not sure why prices vary from store to store, but they do. This is a big Walgreens so the selection is great! Helpful staff is also intelligent, maybe even college-degreed. Nice. And what's with all the Polish hotties shopping here? Mowimy po Polsky, indeed! It's like a Polish modeling convention was in need of Coppertone SPF 4 for the weekend. Do not go to this Walgreens! They are possibly prejudice and rude. I tried to purchase baby formula and was also taking my dad to get his prescription. I wanted to take the formula to prescription so we could check out at the same time and this was not allowed. Treating people as criminals is very poor customer service. And FYI my baby was with me. Pharmacy is horrible. Someone kept picking up the phone and placing me back on hold never saying anything. After 15 mins I called to talk to the store manager. Pharmacy staff called me back and were super ignorant. I asked about the insurance they had on file for a script which was a wrong one. When I asked them to call and process the correct one they told me I'd have to contact insurance myself! Needless to say I instead contacted a competent pharmacy who correctly processed my prescription. read more

Called refill in several days ago. Drive thru closed every day since with a dozen people in line inside every time. Finally went inside and waited 45 minutes only to be told they didn't even have the prescription in stock. In the past they would have texted me a notice, but they didn't this time. The cashier had no explanation, no apology, and just coldly offered to transfer to another pharmacy while my son was going nuts waiting in the cart. Absolutely ridiculous. The staff at this Walgreens is courteous and helpful but impossible to get a hold of by phone. In addition, they are often out of my medications making pick up delayed. For over 30 years I have had my pharmacy needs satisfactory filled by four different Walgreens across the city of Chicago. Customer service in the pharmacy is severely lacking. "Kristi" or however she chooses to spell it has no business working with people. She is rude, condescending, and incompetent. How can you tell me my insurance doesn't cover free at home covid tests when I know for a fact my insurance isn't on file, because she never bothered to put it in?! After taking care of it myself, I had to go back and never got an apology, just attitude while I waited for my tests. People working there are incompetent!!!!!!!! Every time I go there, they lose someone's medication including mine. The last time I was there went through the drive thru and they couldn't find my medicine , the tech tells me to do a lap in the lot. So I do and wait, eventually my order was completed. Prior to being handed my order I saw a sticker on the window stating "ask us to add one of these to your order" so I asked them to give me mucinex , the tech had no idea what I was talking about so she calls over to the window and yells we don't have that back here u need to come in. If you have your prescriptions filled at this pharmacy (especially anything related to benzodiazepines) have them recounted before you leave. My family member has had an ongoing problem with prescriptions being short for almost three years. The pills are anywhere from 3 to 30 short. She has contacted the pharmacy directly as well as the corporate office. They say "we're sorry", "We apologize" and it keeps happening. Seriously, almost on a monthly basis. The apologies are hollow. The next step is to contact the State Regulatory Board and / or the media. If this is happening to her it has to be happening to other people. Just be aware. read more

There is a worst pharmacy in area. Pharmacy menager was very unpleasant and problematic. she could not read my prescripion where i did not have problem with it. It was extra hard for her. I think she had a bad day so she landed on me. I change my pharmacy and I do not recommend this one. There is target close and marianos where are very nice ladies who helped me with my prescription no problems. Avoid this pharmacy at all cost. They have done a horrible job at communicating effectively this past month and provided incorrect information to my father in regards to his ulcerative colitis medication. He initially was told that he was too early to received his medication when he return 5 days later he was told there were no refills (when we checked his prescription he had 6 refill until 2020). When he return to request his medication he was told that they did not have it in stock. At this point he has an exacerbation of his colitis thanks to their inability to stock their pharmacy appropriately. Will be transfering prescriptions to another pharmacy. read more

If I can give no stars I would give it to that pharmacy! My son was given ear drops for the infection he had and I left it to be filled. Few hours later, I went to get it to find out that the manufacturer has change and they needed different prescription from his doctor! Of course it was late and the doctor's office was closed, so doing that was impossible! I was really angry, because nobody contacted me or my doctor for that issue earlier so it can be resolved, and after I asked the pharmacist on duty MICHELLE why I was not informed for that , she just started laughing and talking on polish with costumer she knew and totally ignored me!!! The rudest , most unhelpful and not caring staff ever! My son had to suffer for the entire night without the needed antibiotics, because of the ignorance of that pharmacist and staff! Worst drive thru! I have sat on multiple occasions for 10 mins just to be acknowledged for them to then tell me my prescription isn't ready and I need to do a lap and wait another 15. If I wanted to wait this long I would've brought the prescription in and sat down to wait for it! Not drop it off to come back a half hour to several hours after I was told it would be ready just to sit for 25 mins! I almost forgot my favorite part... can barely hear them through the headset outside and then I was given an attitude for being frustrated about repeating myself 10 times. read more

I'd give the pharmacy section a 0 if i could. Absolutely TERRIBLE service. 5 people working and I had to wait over 30 minutes to pick up prescription meds. The exchange should last 10 minutes max. There's two booths and they were serving both. I was in the right handed side one, I switch to the other one since it is free after a customer just left and the lady decides to stop serving it and she leaves to service the drive thru. Also people that came after me were being served in the other booth. Finally when I decide to switch booths again since the woman is apparently gone and ignoring me the woman magically decides to serve at the other one, while serving the cars!! What a f**king mess. I have had this trouble at other Walgreen's locations with older (I mean like 55+ plus and/or really "ethnic") female cashiers. However, the cashier here went above and beyond the rest. I wanted to write a check for a small food item and was told I could not do that. I said well I am going to get cigarettes as well. I was told I could not do that. I asked why not? I was told the manager says that is not allowed. I said,I have written checks for cigarettes and beer along with other things at other locations no problem. Does policy vary store by store? She said she does not know. Who the hell knows? I think not. I think it is all due to old or whatever the crap is going on in their minds cashiers going by very old policy or being vindictive towards all men about how they may have been treated by men in the past that smoke and/or drink. Possibly also trying to wield their religious or moral beliefs. I did not have time to wait for the manager. I have never had this problem with a male cashier of any age or back round or a female cashier under the age of 55 that was not really "ethnic." This corporation needs to get on this or there will be a lawsuit on their hands. Rant over. read more

This Walgreen's has the best pharmacy technicians. They are very patient, kind and informative. They helped me so much when I was sick and didn't have time to see my doctor. I went to this Walgreens last week with my mother and infant daughter looking for a specific Minnie Mouse toy. We couldn't find it and grew worried so we asked someone for help. The wonderful lady from the cosmetics counter helped us find it and my mother screamed for joy that we did! We were so excited u til this horribly rude other employee told my mother to "calm down!" I wasn't in the aisle with her as there were more than enough people in it and I had my stroller, but I couldn't believe this woman would tell a customer to calm down! She was older and had short curly hair with glasses and you'll probably find her outside grimacing at the world while smoking a cigarette because her miserable self was out there at least 3 times during our 10 minute visit. She's lucky I didn't hear her talk to my mother that way myself or I would have given her some choice words! Absolutely disgusted with this cermudgen of a woman.
