I was walking around the French Quarter, two drinks in on my first day in New Orleans, when I saw this Walgreens on my way back to my hotel. I was about to spend four nights at a writers' conference and had the foresight to drop in and buy a bottle of Advil. If you've been to one Walgreens, you've kind of been to them all, but this one surprised me by keeping its Advil locked up in plastic cases while leaving its entire supply of Sudafed out. The case on my Advil was large and unwieldy, making it slightly more difficult to shoplift. Seems like a wash, though, with the added cost of locking up individual products. At least it was easy to grab the Advil without assistance and check out at the register, where an employee quickly unlocked my purchase. Anyway, that Advil came in handy once I engaged in my premeditated bouts of drunken revelry. I have no particular love for Walgreens, but I'm glad I came across this one when I did. read more

This walgreens is conveniently located near other restaurants and bars if you need something quick, like snacks, drinks, bathroom products, and even electronics like phone chargers. It's pretty spacious and very organized. There were some deals like liter sodas 2 for $5 (regular price is $3.50 for 1). The aisles were clean, and the workers at the cashier were friendly. The line was pretty long for a weekend evening, so be prepared to wait. They had 3 cashiers working though, so it wasn't a long wait for the check-out line! read more

Walgreens is my favorite store. It's just the best. Any place that sells soap and glory I'm a little biased towards! lol. Seriously tho, the only issue I have ever had with any Walgreens is w the one located on meadowbrook in fondren. They said I stole so I waited for the cops to come... This Walgreens location is right on a corner on Royal Street in the French Quarter and very close to our hotel. It is a little dingy, but otherwise standard Walgreens with prices inflated for the location. What really stood out about my one visit here was the almost laughably bad service I received here. I had picked out a few small items to purchase and approached the register. The young lady at the register was literally texting and scrolling on her phone for close to a full awkward minute. It was a "like wow, really?" type of moment. Unbelievable and incredibly off-putting. We were treated like the most incredible inconvenience and nuisance for wanting to buy something. very nice. 1 star. read more

Who on earth puts a Walgreens just two blocks down from another Walgreens? I don't know, but it came in hella convenient when my wife and I were walking down Canal Street. We'd spurned the other Walgreens in favor of grabbing items at the CVS across the street, but the CVS didn't have everything we needed, so we swung by this Walgreens on our way to the French Quarter. Nothing particularly special about this location-- we got in, we got out, and it wasn't a great or terrible experience. I'm just thankful that we were able to find another pharmacy so close to the other two so we didn't need to remember to stop on the way back. read more

The store front is very Antique and looks cool. But when we entered the store and asked the employees some questions about where we could find several items we needed to buy, we got answers to our questions with an ATTITUDE ! A convenient spot (and easily found by remembering it is next to the Hotel Monteleone) to get basics like water while out and about in the French Quarter. The reason I went in there was to load up on a variety of Zapp's potato chips. Hello Voodoo Gumbo flavor! And you can't go wrong with the Spicy Crawtaters. What a colossal waste of a Walgreen's Pharmacy. I went in looking for dye-free Benadryl which I buy at my local Walgreens's. They didn't have it. They did have the pink Benadryl at the dye-free prices. Yes, they have the prices that jacked up. I wanted Tylenol. They did have it in a 10 pills for $3.99. Nope, I'm not paying that as a precautionary purchase. This reminds me of a pharmacy you'd stick in an airport. Located in a central location not too far from Bourbon Street and all the bars. Perfect for those days you need painkillers for your hangovers or maybe the extra mouthwash to gargle Or even a T-shirt to replace the one your friend puked all over. I'm sure there are other locations where you can pick up cheap souvenirs or coffee from Café du monde or beignet mixes But a Walgreens will beat any other souvenir shops along the tourist roads. I was in need of some necessities and this was the closest grocery type store to where we were. The prices here are way higher than any other Walgreens that I have been in but, I expected it. The shelves in a lot of sections were completely bare so, I am not sure what their restocking policy is but, they should probably rethink it for customer satisfaction purposes. There aren't any checkout lanes! Instead they have two self-checkout lanes and a person standing there to swipe and bag your stuff. I don't really understand this logic because the guy did all the work for me anyway except for me doing my payment through the machine. They had a huge alcohol selection for a Walgreens but, I am sure this is what most people in the area stop in for! They also don't have any restrooms in the store. You have to go into the neighboring commercial/storefront "mall" type place! read more

This place has been a major convenience every year when my wife and I come for Jazzfest. It's easy to fill in any medical/cosmetic supplies you need. You can get all kinds of snacks, many of them local to the area like pickled pig lips and others more appetizing than that. We get cheap folding chairs to take to the festival. We have gotten phone chargers and all sorts of things over the years. The staff is friendly and efficient. Check out the historic plaque outside, telling what used to be on the site. read more

Shelves were stocked kinda slowly, checking out was kinda slow, and even the mouse that made its way across aisle 1 while I was looking for cold remedies seemed OK with taking its time. This is the most interesting Walgreen's I have ever been in. We were in NOLA for vacation and I had a severe allergic reaction and had to call home and have my doctor call in a prescription for me. I didn't realize there are 3 Walgreens within the Quarter an we walked to all three before finding the only one with a Pharmacy in it. The walking to 3 locations was our fault not theirs. What I thought was weird was the items they had under lock and key. They had the normal stuff under lock and key like razor blades, condoms, medicines that you can make Meth out of, but they also had deodorant under lock and key. This to me is very odd. I had never seen Secret and Degree and others under a plastic case that needed a key. I walk over to the nearest clerk and ask for them to unlock the door so I can get some deodorant and they look me up and down, like I am a criminal. I ask why is it under lock & key? They said it gets stolen a lot down there so they had to start locking it up. Ok I get that. NOLA is hot and humid and if you have to take multiple showers becuase you are sweating then you would need more deodorant and I could see people stealing that. Otherwise people were nice enough, store was cleanish. At least this time we know where it is and how to get there should we need it again. read more

I've been to many a Walgreens and this one has the best customer service. I think it's the nice personalities of the employees. They act like this is their job and they actually WANT their job. That makes a big difference in my opinion of Walgreens. Because, you know - they pretty much have everything you need in a pinch. Melissa went there for earplugs, but they were closed. Gosh darn it. But they were open every other time I needed them. Like, when I bought postcards or Emergen-C. And every time there was a happy employee with a great attitude who made all the difference. read more

Worst customer service EVER! I tried to buy an item that clearly had a yellow coupon sticker on it for $3 off. The guy at the counter told me I needed to go back and get the tag for him (he clearly didn't believe me). Usually the store does that for you but whatever, I went and got it. After he saw I was right, he was a little nicer but still annoyed. He called the manager and she was the worst-completely unprofessional and VERY rude to me, making comments under her breath. Love this location! They are open late or maybe all night? They are constantly stocked with everything you need. They are a little pricey but they are perfectly located. Water is in the front so you do not have to worry about heading to the back of the store. Snacks are plentiful and multiple registers are usually open. read more

This Walgreens is well located, but that's the only reason I'd choose to stop in (not that I think this store is particularly concerned with locals). It's always a little chaotic and if I have my choice, I'll stop at one of their other stores in the area or go to their competition. It's a nice store. The tall guy with long dreads is not. First time in the city and he gives me attitude for a product I bought breaking. He stated, "don't try and get something better then what you got." I was correcting you on which item I got, so you need to relax top flight. Then I ask about changing to a different cord at the same price. Mr moody just keep saying no even though he rung me out! And said it was because I didn't have a receipt! Dirty dirty dirty. When I was down a couple weeks ago I saw a mouse run through the store

Ok so when I had to go here I have to say the cashier was pretty hilarious but this place was kinda gross, I saw like rat or mouse pop on the bottom shelf when I went to get some rice cakes so that kinda made me not hungry, also the horrible ghetto brass band blocking the the store, you can't turn the corner, they literally blew a trumpet right in my ear, it was banging inside its all you could hear and when I started complaining to my husband about it the creepy over smiley manager butted in and started defending him, I asked if he would call the police and he pretty much started arguing me, all he did was defend them. Had to listen to them for a good ten minutes I was in line, just avoid that area all together, bums dancing in front of the doors it's just gross and ghetto.
