Quickly Remedied HIPAA Violations Issue: Twice this afternoon I was asked to publicly disclose, confidential, federally protected information about my health in front of strangers at the pharmacy counter. Needless to say, I immediately reported this location to Walgreens Corporate Privacy Compliance group. HEADQUARTERS' EXCELLENT RESOLUTION! Walgreens Corporate responded very quickly (within 4 business hours). All employees will now be retrained as to federal HIPAA laws and regulations, and a reminder email will be sent to all Walgreens pharmacies. I have used this pharmacy since August of 2018. They used to be reliable and communicative. Starting in about the summer of 2023 that tapered off and disappeared. Reaching someone on the phone is increasingly Herculean. Lots of long holds even when their system informs you that no one's in front of you. And once you get through it's ready -when it's not- or there's a delay which they are powerless to resolve. The web service is vague, like the staff, using "pharmacist review" and "insurance jssue". In each case, my in-person inquiries led to tech fixing it on the spot. The staff also seems to disagree over when refills are due. The service here is best described as schizophrenic- many discordant voices. The experience is as arbitrary as that Seinfeld bit. Don't rely on this pharmacy for anything time-sensitive. read more

Apparently "New" people work here according to an employee at the Pharmacy. I had a terrible experience today. The Pharmacist who's name is Quanisha apparently has the right to decide who get their medication based on what forms of ID she feels like accepting that day. I brought my military ID to pick up my medication, (My name is exactly the same on both the Military ID and Prescription). The Pharmacist (Quanisha) decided that she does not accept military IDs to pick up medications. It goes without saying that this form of identification is government issued and I in fact am able to use it to pick up medications. After calling Corporate and confirming this, Quanisha still wouldn't give me my medication. She told me to sit and wait for her manager to arrive and he can issue the medication. The manager arrived and immediately accepted my Identification and issued me my medication. I have been coming here for years, this place has declined so much recently. The girls at the pharmacy literally spend so much time talking amongst themselves and leave the counter unattended. It's very clear that they are friends outside of work and probably hired because of it. Seriously get your prescription at another Walgreens, I wasted 5 hours of my day here and noticed many other people in line complaining about the lack of professionalism and simple customer service at this location. Makeup extravaganza! This is the only pharmacy in NOLA with an expanded makeup selection. It's a hidden secret, perfect for a last minute run for a cosmetic. Especially if you are running late & headed out for a night on the town. It's location is great if you live around uptown, saving you a trip to a big box beauty store. It has an expanded variety of makeup brands. While it won't have the brands or variety you have in Sephora, it will have something to fit your needs. It is right next to Whole Foods, making it easy for a quick pickup while doing shopping errands or picking up a prescription. This is one of the larger Walgreens I've been in. It has another added bonus...parking! Not many places in the city have a parking area. At this location you don't have to search for street parking like you do downtown. Also, this location is not usually packed making it easier to stay safe & maintain that 6ft of distance. read more

This is my neighborhood Walgreens within walking distance and I always have a pleasant experience. They have parking in the back which is perfect since the neighborhood charges for street parking. You can utilize the drive-thru pharmacy but what I appreciate most is the customer service here and the wide variety of items available. They're open fairly late and take advantage of the register near the drinks and fridges! read more

As far as a Walgreens goes this place is great. It's a relatively new location (few years) so everything is shiny and new. The cosmetics aisles are a pleasure to stroll through, whether looking for something in particular or just wasting time. The pharmacy is great too, there's a drive through window for convenience. Parking lot behind Magazine Street with a back entrance as well as an entrance on Magazine Street. I've picked up photos I've ordered online, gotten a passport photo and picked up any and all essentials I've needed. Very convenient store and location for my day to day life. read more

I am a Walgreens man when it comes to my drugstores. Don't get me wrong, I am all about locally owned and operated, but unfortunately, that locally owned and operated drugstore in uptown kind of sucks. So now I use Walgreens. I used to use the one on Claiborne, which is fairly awful. It's filled with mostly rude and apathetic staff. So when I switched to the one on Magazine, I was shocked about how nice and helpful everyone was. The pharmacy staff was great. The line was fairly long, but they move people in quickly and politely. When it was my turn, they were efficient and nice. Very pleasant experience. The store itself seems pretty nice. I only browsed around for a few moments before peacing out. But on a first blush, this Walgreens strikes me as clean and organized. I would recommend it. Forgot to mention, the parking. It's in the back and it is plentiful. Parking and inconspicuous yet appropriate signage for this Walgreens on Magazine is an A+. I think the concept of this Walgreens is great with the multiple check-outs in the front, back, and in cosmetics. I don't know if there is enough of the extra product in this higher end Walgreens to have me choose it over just going to a grocery store or a Sephora or Ulta. And when I've looked for specific products in the makeup/hair section, I don't see the selection to be any more varied than what I would find at a regular Walgreens. They do have various higher end makeup brands like Cargo and Pür Minerals, but not the ones that I would go to Sephora or Ulta for, and I don't see myself switching to any of these brands. I'm surprised that they're hair tool section is just as small if not smaller than other Walgreens which is a bummer. They do have more food items than other Walgreens, but I haven't really scoped this section very hard, so may update if I find this to be uber beneficial. Again, ample parking for a quick in and out on Magazine for some quick groceries and would probably take advantage of it more if I was in this area, but probably not going to replace my trips to one of the other makeup stores anytime soon. read more

ABSOLUTELY INCOMPETENT STAFF!!!! Please don't go to this Walgreens for any reason. They can't check people out, they've got soap "on lock down", the photo print center is a disaster. No one knows where anything is. When you need a refund for photos that they can't print they can only give you a gift card not an actual refund! This place is a joke. No manager on duty. Worst pharmacy service ever. Pharmacist kept answering the phone the whole time, and never walked me through the medication instructions, or asked if I wanted her to. Assistant was a total dope, kept making me talk for no reason even though I obviously hardly could (kept making me repeat, and and pretended she didn't see me pointing to things like my name and address on the paperwork). She called the manager over to report ME for my "rude behavior", and the manager was no better. Never going back there. EVER. read more

I can't believe I'm writing a review of a drugstore. All drugstores are similar, right? Wrong. This one really is upscale. You'll find skincare products here that are high end and remarkable. Many people protested its proposed location, but I think everyone now is delighted. It has plenty of parking and the building blends in remarkably well. It is a great addition to uptown. read more

Cue the angel's singing above, FINALLY a wonderful experience as a customer in the store as well as patient to the pharmacy. This Walgreens is far ahead of it's time in regards to it's new remodeled design, customer service, and new upscale cosmetic section. Honestly it feels more like I'm walking into an upscale boutique or something, but I'm not complaining. You can buy and experiment with cosmetics imported from lots of different countries all while waiting for your prescription to be filled. Granted walgreens is notorious for charging more for just about all things you can buy elsewhere, it's a pleasant surprise from the usual Walgreens experience which usually ends in frustration in my past experiences. Anyone else wonder why it feels like Walgreen's ALWAYS hires the slowest employees? Fear not at this location because it is somewhat hidden on magazine street with not much foot traffic. It's worth going a little further down the street for me. Lovely pharmacy staff too, which is a plus. read more

I used to love that Walgreens because of the parking and beauty cosmetics. I have never had any problem there until last week. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience when I ordered some photo prints. Most of my prints were cut off heads and printed wrongly. I was very frustrated because my order was around 100 pics. Thus, the cashier made a "weird joke" saying that she needed a new therapy and maybe looking for random people's pics would be interesting. I felt that it was kind of creepy. After I mentioned that it was creepy, she said that I understood wrong. Anyway, they have great cosmetics that are hard to find and the cosmetic cashier is awesome, but if you are looking for a place to print pics I don't recommend at all. read more
