I had not been here before so when I walked in I didn't know where to find the passport photo area. I must have looked lost because the cashier kindly asked if she could help. She pointed me to the passport area and let me know that Stacy would be right with me. Stacy was also very kind and helpful as she took my picture according to the passport photo guidelines. I received 2 photos and a complementary email photo. I would definitely recommend going to this Walgreens for passport photos! The bathroom needs a bit of updating (thus the 4 stars instead of 5) but Stacy did a fantastic job (5 stars) and treated me nicely! Thank you!!! read more

This might be the worst Walgreens I've ever been to or have tried to pick up prescriptions. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN. Besides waiting on hold for over 35 minutes, the staff seems unable to do their job effectively. I waited in the drive-thru line for over 30 minutes as well. After about seven different times trying to make the best out of the situation, we no longer choose this location. Mckinney has grown a lot in the past 4 years it seems, and this location has not kept up with the changing east Mckinney demographic. read more

No Matter what time you call the pharmacy you always wait on hold for over 30 minutes .. and then when the pharmacy answers they only pick up to put you on hold again and never come back to the line. Same thing with the pharmacy drive through.. horrible. Always a long line that moves incredibly slow. Do better. I see so many complaints on here and yet they don't do anything about it. DO NOT trust this Pharmacy with your health care needs! They filled a prescription for my son with 500mg rather than the prescribed 250mg. The script on the bottle said it was 250mg. The pills looked different than previous pills, after a google search and texting a friend who is a pharmacist confirmed the incorrect medication had been given to my son. Thank God I caught the mistake before giving the medication to my son. When I returned the medication to Walgreens, and brought the mistake to the attention of the pharmacist. She told me not to use this Walgreens specifically. She said because of staffing issues and required corporate quotas, mistakes can happen, she went on to say she is putting her license on the line by working there. On that day she was putting more than her license on the line but the health of my son on the line! read more

if i could give negative stars i would. i tried "taking the negative comments with a grain of salt" like one of the reviews suggested and boy, now i see why there are so many negative comments! i left the doctor and called the pharmacy to make sure they got my prescriptions/ask how long it would be to fill them... keep in mind i have a flu like symptoms including severe body aches, a fever, was vomiting, and could hardly drive myself to the doctors appointment as it is... the phones were so backed up that i was put on hold for 30 minutes. It took so long for them to answer that i already pulled into the parking lot from the doctors appointment. As soon as I arrived, the pharmacist told me me it'll be another hour and a half wait time because there are people in front of me and she needs to go to lunch. i'm sorry, but i work in the medical field and i don't get to take lunches. in the medical field, it is our job to provide for patients, take care of patients, and help patient's feel better because their health is your number one priority. well not here. this walgreens staff makes it seem like you're not a priority and they could care less if you're sick and on your death bed. as long as they get an hour lunch. absolutely ridiculous. i will not be returning. it isn't even 24 hours either. i would rather drive further than return to this location. i just moved to mckinney and this is the closest Walgreens to me, how disappointing. This Walgreens has a death wish. Closure for remodeling, staff shortage, and lunch breaks, make this a very hard store to deal with. We used it because it was the preferred pharmacy for our AARP United health care plan. The store layout has gone from bad to impossible. Drive up service takes way too long. The pharmacy is often shut down because there is no Pharmacist. Prescriptions take longer because they are filled off site. We changed our part D drug plan to Aetna CVC this year because it was impossible to deal with this poorly run store. CVS staffs their stores adequately and has a much more convenient layout. Walgreens picked up some bad practices from COVID and expected us to accept it as the New Normal. Our New Normal is to go elsewhere. read more

Walgreens has always been my pharmacy of choice. Despite the terrible phone service, poor customer service, rude pharmacists and long lines, I've been loyal....until today! Recently, I started using the online portal to order my refills, check status etc. to be more efficient and honestly to avoid having to call them since it takes at minimum 35 min to answer the phone. I noticed there was an option to have my meds shipped to my home at no charge. So I thought, wow that would be great time saver. I assumed SHIPPED meant securely boxed meds like a true mail order service, not DOOR DASH. Today, I get a random call from a DOOR DASH driver asking for my address to deliver my medication. I asked why she needs my address and she said it isn't on the order. I was highly suspicious of the caller since I did not order anything for delivery from DOOR DASH. So I refused to supply any information. Next I called my trusty Walgreens where I waited well over 35 min each time in queue for someone to finally answer and immediately disconnect. The first time, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, second time I got angry. Then I went back to the website to review the order status and to verify if there was any documentation that stated, "We use DOOR DASH to deliver our meds." Maybe I made a mistake while ordering and overlooked this important detail. NO WHERE on the website does it disclose this information. I will be reporting this to Walgreens corporate board of directors, BBB, HHS and my physician in order to MOVE ALL RX's to another pharmacy. Shame on me for assuming my Pharmacy would surely not provide my PHI and medication to a pizza delivery driver. read more

I think you gotta take these negative reviews with a grain of salt. Did I wait on hold for a little bit? Yes, of course I did. Pharmacists are not receptionists. Was it an excessive period of time? Absolutely not. When I spoke to someone they were quick to identify who I was and where my prescription would be in the process. I even received a second phone call back confirming that my prescription was being filled and what time it would be ready. Let people do their jobs. Great service. read more

My husband was at this location tonight and unfortunately witnessed a terrible interaction between an employee named Dana and a black family. He couldn't believe how blatantly racist she was being towards this mother and her kid. The mother simply asked that Dana split the bill. Some being in cash and the rest on a card. After she ignored the mother, she was completely nasty towards the mother after. She's been reported to management but will also be reported to corporate as well. I've went to this Walgreens once and never again after what happened. So I am big on couponing but I am fair when I coupon, I never try to cheat, but I will admit, I do bring a lot my friends that would like to coupon as well. My friends and I came here for the laundry detergent that was on sale, small size prices normally at $7.00 but with the coupon you can purchase it for $2.00. The coupon allowed 2 per household and I exactly had my two coupons per household and so did my friend. Now dealing with coupons, I've never had this happen to me, where the manager would not let me purchase the item because my friend and I wanted to purchase the same deal. I asked why I couldn't when the rule was 2 coupons per household, I mean I could show my driver licenses and hers, we live at different addresses. Regardless, the deal should be given to me because that's way the coupon is for. Instead of nicely explaining why they cannot honor it, the manager that time told me that he will not honor it because if he did that then he'd lose money. I'm sure Walgreens as a company gets reimbursed something if coupons are used and whether they do or not, it's very rude to not honor a legitimate coupon when they Walgreens say they honor it, because it's not like I am trying to cheat you. Anyways, my friend she became really upset and they went back and forth for about 3 minutes, finally, the manager honored the sale, but said if he couldn't read the codes that he would not. This is why I rated this place a 2 because he did end up honoring the code but he was very rude in the beginning. I am sure he had received tons of customers that morning prior to my visit that tried to cheat the coupon system but I am not the other customers and personally I think I deserve respect because I have been a long time customer of Walgreens, my loyalty points are all the way up there because my family always have used their pharmacy. Overall, I haven't came back and won't ever come back even though I live down the street from this Walgreens due to the rude service I've received from this place. The wait time at the pharmacy is absolutely nuts. Almost every time I go there, I have to wait at least 20 minutes in line just to get my prescription. That is both inside and in the drive thru. Walgreens has an Express Pay option where you can pick up your prescription right away... Or so you'd think. They have a sign for the Express Window, but they don't use it for that. I asked about this, and they said they don't plan on using it for that purpose. I can put a card on file if I'd like in order to speed up the process. Really? It shouldn't take much time to pay for your prescription. Express means EXPRESS. Means I'm not going to have to wait 20 minutes for one prescription that takes you 2 seconds to get for me. I have no clue why it takes so long. Whenever I get up to the window (finally) it doesn't take long at all. They do have issues finding prescriptions a lot of the times I've been there, so that may be the issue. The only time I've been able to get my prescription in a timely manner is if I go super late (they are open until midnight). I shouldn't have to do that though. I need to be less lazy and find a new pharmacy. read more

Worst Walgreens pharmacy I've ever used, prescription are quoted at taking 2.5-3 hours minimum to fill, I've had multiple prescriptions "lost" here and they don't start filling them until you actually arrive vs when your doc sends them in. Final straw for me was when I had a prescription called in by my 4 month old's pediatrician to fill, when I got to the drive-through, with sick child in tow, they told me the earliest they could have it ready was 30 mins from then, and then the woman said this was "fast" because she still had other prescriptions to fill in front of mine, (it's noon on a Monday and I'm the only car there) where am I supposed to take a sick baby for 30 mins to wait?! No. Just no. I'm taking my family's prescriptions to the CVS across the street. So long Walgreens. read more

I had the misfortune to have to go to this Walgreens as my local CVS was booked for vaccines and I have last minute business travel. 2 techs, a line of 8 people. No purpose in life for those people. I asked what was required of me as I was at the Check In line for my appointment. No reply. There comes "Brianna" with a look of utter disgust and inconvenience. With her revolting attitude proceeded to do her little job, half way, as when I was called for the vaccine I was expected to have filled paperwork which she did not provide. Please note, that WE, paying customers have choices. The entire staff is unprofessional, rude, and should be dismissed in order to hire anyone that takes pride in their job. Regarding COVID Testing on 5/20. Had a 4:15 appointment but got to the window about 4:48. After stating they would be right with me I witnessed the Pharmacist take care of customer who pulled up "after" me to handle their needs. He then asked for my insurance only to take care of yet another customer. My last visit (a female), I was taken care of within 10 minutes. This Pharmacist was slow, inconsiderate, unprofessional and his communication was horrible. The experience was just unacceptable. read more

For as many employees as there were, I couldn't believe how slow this Walgreens was. I ordered a photo online and came to pick it up. TWO people were working the photo station and were busy doing something. They did not acknowledge me for several minutes. Not even a "We'll be with you in just a sec!" Just ignored me. When I finally got my photo, I waited forever in a line behind one couple who kept running back and forth trying to get/trade a product for one that was in sale. Several sales associates were standing around the front. Fiiiiinally a man came and checked me out. That's the longest I've ever spent in a Walgreens for just a "run in and grab something" type situation. And I wouldn't have been as annoyed if they were short-staffed. I totally get that. If I could zero stars, I would. This Walgreens is literally the worst location I have ever been to. Just to add to the normal 45 minute waiting line inside (or the same in drive through) that we consistently experience, the guy at the counter, with 7 people in line and a drive through wrapped around the store, just told a cashier when she was done to go to lunch. I don't understand why this place doesn't have more cashiers working in the evening when they are busiest. Not all Walgreens are like this and I'm not even sure why I subject myself to this location, but it is maddening. When you finally make it to the counter, I have found out more than once that they have not managed to run our insurance correctly or don't have a medication ready, despite the ready promise they gave us. If you're looking for a pharmacy, avoid this one. Drive a few miles further for a different location or a different brand. I will be removing my business from Walgreens and finding another location just to avoid the lack of staff here. read more

I just left and was told a coupon that says limit one per purchase means you can't use more than one coupon in a transaction even if you are PURCHASING more than 1 of the item. SMH. I showed him where several of the coupons I was using for other items say the same thing and ring up just fine but of course he still didn't get it. Called to refill a prescription - was told they needed to contact my physician prior refilling. Waited several days for a response. Checked my Physician Portal and saw that the Dr. faxed over the consent to refill. Never heard anything from Walgreen's that the prescription was approved and ready for pickup. Called and was told it was ready - when I inquired as to WHY I didn't receive notice from Walgreen's all the pharmacist said was "Sir, it is ready". Will be going to CVS for all my future pharmacy needs read more

This is the worst Walgreens EVER! The wait time is RIDICULOUS! I love their hours but my goodness, they only have one person working the drive through and TWO lanes of cars! Yeah, probably just don't go to the pharmacy here. Got in the drive thru line at 8:20ish last night to pick up my daughter's prescription. There were 2 cars in front of me and it took them 15 minutes to get those two out of the way. When I got to the window, a guy said he'd be with me in just a moment so I waited. I noticed there were three people working, which shocked me, as before I could see in, I figured maybe only one person was staffed and that's why it was slow. But nope, three people. One lady was filling bottles and passing them to another lady who was labeling them and placing them in a crate. Looked like some kind of bulk prescription order or something, who knows. I know nothing about pharmacies. But it made sense to me that the people that are actually THERE for a pickup should be given higher priority than people who are not. There were also like 4 people in line inside who the guy was helping. Which is fine, but started to irritate me when he was helping people that had gotten in line after I had gotten to the window. Maybe they place priority on the in-store customers, idk. So anyways, like 20 minutes after that I'm finally helped. So I waited for approximately 40 minutes in the drive thru to be helped, and that's enough for me to never come back to this location. I've used them for a while now and never had this kind of issue but judging by other reviews, it's gone pretty downhill lately and I just don't have time for it. I also should add that I called the pharmacy last week and was on hold for 20 minutes and no one answered, so there's that. read more
