Last Friday (8/8) I went to pick up a prescription. I was there at 1:29 and they had the pharmacy closed for lunch until 2. Okay, so I went and grabbed a drink and snack and then went back to wait, I was the only person in line. At 2:03 when the pharmacy opened back up a pretty big crowd had formed, but I was first in line and thought nothing about it. Boy was a I wrong. The male pharmacist decided to call every elderly patient (3 of them) before me. Not that they had been there before me or anything, just because that's what he wanted to do. Finally, at 2:30 it's my turn. They say my prescription wasn't called in. Awesome. Show back up the next day in the drive thru, cause you'll never catch me inside again. The lady said they had the prescription but that they hadn't filled it because they didn't have my insurance info? What?!?! I was just there at the end of May...you had it then, what happened to it? So I told the female that my insurance is the exact same and has not changed. She then tells me she needs to see if they have enough pills because she doesn't think that they do....its 10 pills! She came back and informed me that they do in fact have enough to fill it but then tells me I will have to come back in a few hours... what on earth? Then on 8/15 I call in a prescription refill that I will run out of on 8/19. They tell me I cannot call it in more than 2 days in advance...so I call today on 8/17 and I'm told that they're so busy they don't know if they'll have filled in time (8/19). This pharmacy location is the very definition of you can't fix stupid. The fact the front door cashiers are more competent, friendly and doesn't ignore customers is a sign maybe they should be the one to train these overpaid pharmacists. Just a thought read more

1-STAR IS WAY TO HIGH This review is specifically about the Walgreens Pharmacy on River Road, Keizer OR. (I am hoping not all Walgreens are this bad.) For the most part the staff is friendly and helpful, although there have been times when staff members act like you are inconveniencing them when asking a question. Rather, I believe this is a STAFFING / CORPORATE PROBLEM. When a doctor calls in a Rx, it shouldn't take more than 3 days to fill it, nor should the customer have to call in for a status update because they haven't heard anything. When a customer uses the automated voice system to call in a refill, the same customer shouldn't have to call back 5-days later looking for a status, only to get the ridiculous automated system with the ever so helpful message of "we're still working on it". For me, the final straw was when I called 5x over the course of 7-hours (10:47a, 11:54a, 12:04p, 2:58p, 3:23p, and 6:17p) and waited for 34, 16, 2, 11, 3, and 13 minutes respectively, looking to speak with a pharmacist to get an update, but instead getting the useless automated system saying "I'm sorry, our staff is answering other calls', or, my personal favorite "There are more then 3 callers ahead of you". If you are that busy, hire more staff. If you can't find staff in the local area, have someone from another store cover and pay them a travel stipend. If you are overwhelmed because of recently onboarding Rite Aid customers, then temporarily pause accepting new customers for a brief period of time. (Of course, we all know if the option were to make $1 profit vs. inconveniencing 100's of customers, Corporate would choose the profit.) Patients shouldn't have to call, and be subjected to that silly automated phone system, just to track down a pharmacist, to get a prescription that was placed 5-days prior. If I ran my customer service business this way, I'd lose all my customers. DO BETTER WALGREENS. read more

The worst pharmacy around. There are definitely some kind people that work there and I do not blame them, but the customer experience is awful. The app often does not work to refill prescriptions (I.e., it won't recognize your DOB, etc.) you'll sit on hold for 2 hours and no one will ever pick up the phone, or you'll receive an automated text message saying your prescription is ready, only to sit in line for an hour and then be told it will be another hour and that "they're behind over 600 prescriptions daily". I would truly recommend going anywhere else. read more

I just had the most horrific experience at this store. I will never forget what they just did to me. I had just got done printing a bunch of 8x10 collage pics of my engagement ceremony with my fiancé, pictures of myself with her family, vacation photos, etc... My fiancé is a foreigner who lives on the other side of the world and we are in the process of getting a fiancé visa for her. Printing all these pictures was part of that process. They clearly showed that I have a personal relationship with this woman and that her family and I are also closely associated. As I was picking up my photos, I also informed them that I needed a US size passport photo for her visa application. I let them know that I had taken the picture myself, that I had cropped it myself and that all I needed them to do was white-out the background and print it for me. 5 different Walgreens employees, 3 of whom identified themselves as managers flat out refused to serve me in any way whatsoever. One lady told me it was against the rules to let me take my own picture, that is a lie. Another lady told me she'd print them but wouldn't cut them for me, which was weird but I agreed, then another lady yelled that they weren't going to do that either. I asked for a manager, she couldn't care less and walked away. I asked for the number for their district manager, they rudely refused and told me to "Google it." I pleaded with them to please just take care of the customer. Give me that "Excellent customer service" that they are always advertising... I argued with them for a solid 30 minutes, on multiple occasions literally begging them to just do their jobs. I made it very clear that this picture was extremely important. They just ignored me and eventually the whole group walked away and left me standing alone in the photo department. The last straw was when the store manager told me she didn't feel comfortable because, and I quote, "I suspect you might be a sex traffcker." I am utterly shocked, but at the same time not surprised. These people clearly hate their jobs, hate their customers and hate themselves. It took five Walgreens employees to come up with every excuse they could think of, just to avoid doing 1 minute worth of work. To make it even more weird, in the end one of them ended up printing the pictures, but refused to edit them, which resulted in me spending $34 on pictures that I can't use anyway. Now I have to go back into that living nightmare again tomorrow to get a refund. Ugh. It would have been effortless to just do their jobs and help the customer. Absolutely unacceptable. The happy ending was that I walked out of that store and within minutes found a competitor to give my money to, who (you guessed it) had literally zero issues doing their job and helping the customer. Gave exactly what I needed and charged me $10 less! Thanks, Walgreens. Keep earning the hate. read more

This is such a difficult review to post, but it's necessary and has information for the public. Post-pandemic, pharmacies have been in crisis. They are overwhelmingly understaffed (for reasons I haven't quite been able to ascertain). At present, Walgreens is seven days behind schedule. What that means for patients is that they only prepare medications if you show up in person. When you do, you'll have to wait 20-60 minutes for your medications to be ready. The public, who Walgreens has not taken any effort to notify, although they have the ability to send out automated texts, does not know what's going on and it has had devastating consequences. I have experienced and witnessed those consequences. I take medications for seizures; if I do not take my medication, I will have a seizure. I showed up around closing time to pick up my medication that was called in about four days prior. It wasn't ready and I was told they could not ready it for me. It took tears, begging, pleading, and an explanation of the inevitable seizures that I would be having for them to get it done. A few weeks later, I waited for my prescription to be filled when a woman showed up to pick up prescriptions for either her father or husband, who was on his death bed. When she found out that the prescriptions were not ready, she began crying out. She told the pharmacist that she needed his blood pressure medication so that her loved one would stay alive long enough for his children to arrive to say goodbye. The pharmacy rushed and got the prescription filled. None of this is okay. America's medical and pharmaceutical systems have always been disasters, but I have never seen it like this. People's health and lives are being put at risk by the pharmacy crises. Walgreens is a billion dollar company. If pharmacy techs and pharmacist are needed, put them through school. Pick up the tab for the sake of human lives. I will be switching to a locally-owned pharmacy after this. I simply cannot back a corporation that would allow this to happen. The only reason that this review got two stars is for the staff. I wish I could hug all of them. They are visibly stressed out and overworked. They are being forced to deal with this crisis head on every day. And although they are doing their best, they're the ones who have to take on the frustration, anger, and outbursts from the public. The pharmacy doesn't even deserve one star. I repeatedly have issues with medications taking a very long time. This time, my prescription was called in as an emergency fill in the early afternoon yesterday, now it's over 24 hours later, late at night just before close, and it's still not filled. I've been on hold for almost 30 minutes and can't even get someone on the phone. Walgreens needs to seriously reconsider their treatment of staff or pay or something. I've never had issues with other pharmacies, but always have issues with Walgreens, any Walgreens. Can't go lower than 1 star. This is the worst pharmacy customer service in the area! They are consistently terrible. Slow to fill your prescription, then even when it says done, that's not necessarily true. They have been rude and super slow . I'm wondering if they're adequately staffed in the pharmacy. It doesn't appear so. The only reason I can think of is bad management and understaffing. This has gone on for at least a year. I am now working on switching pharmacies. Very disappointed in this situation. The bright stars in the pharmacy ( few and far between) have basically disappeared. Is this an unfriendly place to work? Everyone seems stressed and unhappy. Again, that says management and company are not treating the employees properly. Walgreens has been declining in services for a while. BAD customer service. The pharmacy lets you go without your needed medications for more than 2 days (so far and this is the second time) the online account shows "in progress" for 3 days now. I am changing pharmacies. They have lost 2 customers, and I am sure losing more due to bad customer service. Teresa and Rebecca from the pharmacy were so kind to me -- on entirely separate occasions -- and the service not only stood out but stuck with me. Wish there was an option for negative stars, or even zero stars. 3x since I transferred to them there has been huge delays on rx. 2days after rx was sent there, and I'm on automated hold again, for over an hour and and an automated voice ends the call.. I get texts that my rx is delayed, but when I hit the link in the text, it is someone else's info in Texas, which blew their privacy out the window. I'm in Oregon! I chat a few times, while waiting on hold and they end the chat or tell me basically oh, well. Not one damn given. This medication is vital, not something that can be put off..I finally get a text saying it's ready, so someone goes there, waits over an hour and is told there is "no record" of my rx having been there. There is a screenshot of the message. They remove that from online but can't erase my screenshot. Finally someone at corporate answers and tells me it was stored. I'm transferred 4x. An hour later and I'm told they need to contact insurance. After it took them 2 days to do nothing, I think it'll take a week to call insurance so I pay for it. Never have I seem more unprofessional, terrible patient service. They can be shut down for the privacy violations alone I'm not trusting them with my privacy or life again. read more

I came in at 9am on a Saturday after being at the hospital overnight. The said they be would fill it right away as I explained I had a 12 hour trip and was very ill. After 40 minutes when I checked they had not even bothered to start the prescription. It took over an hour for them to fill a cough medicine prescription and there were not many people in the store or drive through. They seemed very busy with their other work and didn't care. If you need something filled when you come in, don't bother here. It doesn't seem to matter to them. read more

After I complained about the errors made at Keizer Walgreen's to their head office, here is my reply to an email I received from the Keizer store manager. Dear Zach, Let me explain in full the issues concerned with your pharmacy. It has appeared that no notice is taken of email messages I send. I also have noticed that even phone calls are ignored. The reason I say these two things is because, I made a cancellation of the drug Pioglitazone that was prescribed by my doctor. The reason for the cancellation was I did some online research into the drug and every site i looked at all said the same things, that there is a high risk of increased heart rate, which I had experienced, and also it can increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.  I sent no less than 5 emails to the pharmacy canceling this drug, as well as several phone calls, during which I was told each time that the drug would be removed from my medication list. However, this did not happen, When I came in to the store to collect my prescription on Friday, 24 October 2019, the drug was still included in the list, the lady who served me deleted while I was there that day. The first time I asked for the removal of this drug was about 2-3 months ago. Another ailment I have suffered with for many years is ear infection. I called my doctors clinic on Thursday, 25 October 2019 to ask for a refill of Ofloxin drops, which my doctor first prescribed sometime last year. I called the pharmacy on the morning of Friday 26 October 2019 to ask if the refill order had come from my doctor and was told that it had and that they were actually dealing with it at that time and it would be ready in about half an hour, I was elated. I left home in Dallas immediately and made my way to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription which consisted of Metformin, Hyrochlorothiazide, Amlodipine Besylate and the Ofloxin Drops. The lady serving me was extremely busy and was rushing around like crazy as she was serving customers at the counter and also seeing to the drive-by customers as well. There was a queue forming behind me and she was obviously doing her level best to catch up so as not to keep people waiting. She went to the draw were my drugs were and took out a number of packages were sealed with staples, which she placed on the counter. She then picked them all up and put them into a larger bag which she also sealed with staples and handed them to me. When I arrived home I took out the drugs and found that the Ofloxin ear drops had not been included, I was gob-smacked, as I had done everything possible to ensure that nothing would go wrong with this order so that I would not have to make a second trip to the pharmacy, as I have had to do on a number of other occasions previously, I just could not believe that despite all my efforts another error had been made. As the fault lies with the pharmacy, I made a call to ask for them to be mailed to me, I felt it was the least that could be done, however, it turned out that the ever-so-simple procedure of placing the drops into an envelope and mailing them to me was not possible, apparently, it is company policy that I had to sign up to some kind of technical procedure before anything could be mailed to me. As I am 70 years of age and have no smart phone and am not tech savvy and have no idea what I was being told I had to do, which caused me great confusion, I shook my head in total disbelief that such a simple task like mailing something has now become a major technological, procedural headache. Yes! a text message did find it's way to my wife's very cheap flip phone, but the end result was I had no idea what on earth it was all about...more confusion!!! Whatever this company policy is, it is best kept for the younger generation who have been schooled to understand these complicated subjects. It was plain obvious to me (and no doubt all who were in the line-up behind me) that the suffering employee was grossly overwhelmed with her workload and that the pharmacy is very much understaffed, and I would say that having to rush round in blind panic trying to achieve catch-up is a major cause for the so many mistakes that often occur. Enough is enough, I shall be looking for a pharmacy elsewhere. read more

This is specifically for the photo department of this location. I ordered ahead of time, told to pick up after 9 AM, and received a conformation email ready for pick up. Arrived at the store at 12 pm and was told my order was still processing and that they're out of stock for the photo size that I ordered. I received no email informing me that they were out of stock, order was not ready to begin with and customer service was lacking. I will never order from this location nor recommend anyone to order photos from this location. read more

My experience there has been awful enough for me to write my first online review of anything, ever. Pros: Open 7 days a week. Open to 10 pm on the weekdays. Drive thru. Cons: Unfriendly, uncaring, unfeeling staff. Watch out for that cold shoulder. Its a dozy. I thought it was all in my mind how rude they were, but after reading the previous comments, not so. They are abrupt and completely cold. If you have any problem with insurance etc, they just roll their eyes and make up some excuse as to why they cant fill the medication. I even had a technician tap his fingers on the counter and point at his watch right in my face that my questions were taking too long and he had to leave in a few minutes. His comments to me were very snarky and personally demeaning. (And that phone they use to speak with in the drive thru, they slam it down with intent to be hostile. They have such an egregious attitude) If you can use another pharmacy, its my opinion that you should over the Walgreens Keizer location. After the previous comment of mentioning the rudeness to management, it might be a good idea to go straight to Walgreens HQ. read more

I am writing this review about the Walgreens at 5000 N River Rd in Keizer, Oregon, because I can't find the option to write a review on the site with the specific address. A friend of mine told me the vaccine was available for the COVID Omicron variant, so when I drove from Washington to Keizer, Oregon on Sept 8th to see my mom at a Bonaventure, I asked if she wanted me to try to find an appointment for her to get one that day. I tried Walgreens first, and was astonished when they said they had a 2:45 time slot at the Walgreens that was only a mile away. I gave them all her information, including date of birth, phone number, email, date of last booster, etc, and they told me to be there 15 minutes early. I got her loaded up, and away we went. My mom can barely walk, even with a walker. She shuffles. It took a long time to get her clear to the back corner of the store, where I found a chair for her to sit in, and proceeded to the window to check her in. At that point, I was told there was no appointment. Seriously? I was asked if I had received a confirmation, and despite the gal telling me she would send one, I hadn't received one on my phone. The insinuation was that I had not gotten an appointment, which I most certainly had. I even showed the guy the phone number I had called so he knew I had, and he agreed that was the number to call to get an appointment. I explained it was their fault, not mine, and my mom had shuffled all the way back to the pharmacy, and had to shuffle all the way back, for nothing. I had no doubt they could have given her the vaccine if they had wanted to, but they couldn't care less. What great customer service. When we got back to Bonaventure, I called the number I had called to get the appointment, and the guy who answered said there was no appointment in the system. Why not? He said the gal could have hit the wrong key and erased everything accidentally. He said he could get me another appointment in an hour. To start with, why would I trust it this time, but even if it was done properly this time, there was no way my mom could do that hike again. She was physically exhausted, wondering what she did wrong. The jerks actually had my 90-year-old mother thinking it was her fault somehow. Jerks. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and after waiting forever, got a gal who said she would listen to the original conversation, (I had my doubts, as everyone I spoke with was in the Philippines, and I don't think they cared at all,) but she told me she could get me an appointment the following day. I explained to her I would not be there to drive my mom the following day, that I would be in another state. Then she said the dumbest thing ever. She said she was trying to help me, and I was refusing to accept the solution. Refusing to accept an appointment when I wouldn't be there the next day? It just kept getting dumber and dumber. I called corporate, as I didn't expect anything to come of this conversation, and the gal who answered there was great. I had the exact time of the conversation when I made the appointment, and she was going to listen to it to determine where the problem occurred. I want two things out of this. I want the person who did this to me to be reprimanded or at least trained better, and I want an apology from the pharmacy. I didn't like the insinuation that I did not have an appointment, and their total unwillingness to fix the situation. I did not make up a story about making an appointment, but jumped through all the hoops required. Then I was treated as though it was my fault and my poor mom went through an ordeal and a half for absolutely nothing. She kept asking me what she did for them to refuse to give her the vaccine. My mom is not thinking real clearly anymore, and couldn't understand the situation. How dare them do this to my mom. They should go back and watch the video inside the store and see how long it took my mom to get from the front door to the pharmacy. I hope some day when they are 90 years old, that someone does this to them. It would serve them right. read more

Every single time I try to print photos here, there is always an issue! I submitted an order months ago and emailed them the required copyright information from my photographer. Even after doing so, I had to wait 20 min to pick up my photos because they "couldn't get it to print" and I "needed to sign something." I patiently waited, signed the sheet, and left with my photos. Just 3 days ago, I again submitted a photo order. I never received a confirmation email that the order was done, so I called to check and confirm it was done before coming there. I explained that I had previously emailed the copyright info and that they had it on file. Well the reason they never completed the order was because they couldn't find it on file. So instead of communicating that to me, my order just sat there. So when I called a third time to ask about my order, they assured me it was done but that I would have to sign the form again. I had my husband pick up the order and NONE of the 5x7s were printed and we paid for them! I am beyond upset and will never ever go here again!! read more

First, read the other 5 reviews that are "no longer recommended" at the bottom of the review page. There is not enough staff at this Keizer Walgreen's. We have put up with long lines, frustrated staff and don't even bother trying to use the drive through. Now....even the automated phone system isn't working correctly. If your prescription is out of refills, instead of taking the order and contacting your physician, it now kicks you in to a phone waiting system to talk to a staff member and no one answers the phone. We are seriously thinking of changing to another pharmacy. read more

Just took my family's prescriptions and left. We have used this pharmacy for over 15 years and they are impossible to work with now. I have tried refilling RXs over the phone and in person and when I go to pick am told that they have nothing for me with confused, blank looks on their faces. They are not helpful and give incorrect information. That with the ridiculous wait times has forced me to go elsewhere for service. Don't get me started on the photo department. I had a DVD and prints made for my daughter's graduation party. I went to pick up everything on the way to the party and found out that they had not printed about half of the pictures I had sent in. None of the photos had a watermark because we had paid the photographer for the CD and all printing rights. I can understand them asking for a release from the photographer, but they had the order for a week and could have called me to tell me that. Instead I had no senior pictures for my daughter's party as it was far too late for me to get a release at that point. To top it off the associate was beyond rude to me. I have never been so angry at a retail associate in my life. read more

I typically don't rate chain drugstores, or grocery stores, because essentially you should already know what to expect. However whenever there is a positive (or negative) associated with these individual stores, I feel that I should review accordingly. Over time, I have even impressed with the cheeriness and knowledge that the employees have. They usually engage in playful banter, as oppose to the quiet teenage crowd that can sometimes man the registers. Therefore, this specific Walgreens gets an extra star in my book. read more

Laziest pharmacy employees. The convenience of a drive thru window is completely destroyed when the techs have no work ethic. I went to fill a prescription and was told it wasn't valid because of the lack of quantity. I took it to Rite Aide..guess what they did? Called the dr for the quantity. Seems simple to me. Now my prescription is ready and i will use rite aid from now on! read more
