    C & D AUTO EXCHANGE

    C & D AUTO EXCHANGE

    (1 review)

My family (in-laws and nuclear) have bought 4 cars from here. The first two were decent enough…read morevehicles; no major issues, maybe a little work and mostly cosmetic. However, my in-laws bought their second vehicle from here and it had some issues. 1. The rear windshield wiper and washer fluid ensemble did not work. At all. 2. The check engine light was on, and the owner "could not get it to go off no matter what" he or his mechanic tried. So my in-laws, in desperate need of a car and against their better wishes, bought the car. Cue months of financial issues as they proceeded to dump an already low budget into fixing an exhaust system, the cause of which the owner could not have figured out or fixed before he sold the car. Yes, my in-laws should have insisted on him fixing it, but it's in the past. On to my nuclear family: My lovely wife finally could afford her own car with both of us working. Since C & D had not really steered us wrong before, we decided to go with a vehicle from his company. My wife had her eye on one vehicle, and we test drove it two times, deciding if we could finance it then it would be hers. The bank stepped up, we bought it, and the owner said he would have his mechanic give the car a "once over to make sure all was in order." As we were signing the papers, he mentioned there was a rattle in the front end that was "the cause of something he couldn't find, but went away when the car heated up and metal expanded." There was also a wobble in the tires that meant he needed to balance them, and the gas cap switch didn't work, so we would have to "pop the trunk, then pull a wire that would pop the flap open." We took the car, after a few months and a second tire-balance, to a garage. Here's the list of issues that C & D auto exchange refused to admit. 1. Destroyed bearings. Both sides 2. Control arms both sides 3. Steering knuckles 4. Nearly destroyed axle, left and right. 5. A smattering of other front-end issues Leading to a grand total or $1,200 worth of work, done by a mechanic friend for free. The total would have been much higher at a garage. Calls to C & D were not returned, so the word is out. This man will sell you a broken car, feign ignorance, then ignore you and move on to the next "sucker." Never again
