Why helllllo Walgreens!!!!! Fancy to meet your acquaintance. Wink!!! I haven't been to this location in years! And OMG, it looks like a brand new store on the inside. It is gorgeous and clean. I was not expecting that. Location: Located at the exterior of the Medical Center on the cross street of Old Spanish Trail (OST) and Kirby. This store is in walking distance to NRG Stadium and is across the Street from Sprouts Grocery Store. Parking: Parking was great! There are plenty of spots in the lot. Inside: Can you say hellllo!! This Walgreens now has a Clinic.... Village Medical Primary Care. Customer Service: The Customer Service was great. The staff greets you when you first arrive. Photo Center: The photo center is nice and quiet and when you call someone over, they don't keep you waiting that long. Quality of Photos: The photos came out amazing! Whoever runs the phones are incredibly rude. It doesn't matter who I get, but today in particular the woman on the phone was rude for no reason! I was calling ahead to see if they had my prescription and she literally said "what? What is it?" Very snarky and annoyed. Absolutely horrible service in the photo department, or maybe just all-around at this location. When I arrived (6:15 pm), no one was attending the photo counter so I rang the help button. An associate came, and I told her I'd like a passport-style photo. She asks if it's for a passport, I tell her no; she then proceeds to pull down the white curtain for the background and grabbed a digital camera without saying a word. When I asked her what I need to do for the photo, she said, "I don't know what the rules are, I just take the picture." She then takes 3 pictures, all without warning me that there would be no flash. When I asked her if I could retake (because I couldn't tell when the photos were being taken), she said, "Not really, I've got other stuff to do." She then told me to checkout with the cashier at the front of the store and left. When I told the cashier I had a discount code for the photos, she stated, "I don't know what that is. She would've had to apply it at the photo counter for you to get that money off." I'm unsure why she couldn't honor the discount code considering that register was 20 yards away from the photo counter in the same store. I told her to forget it and left. Needless to say, the next time I need something from a specialty department within a Walgreens, I'll be avoiding this location. read more

I accidentally drove into this parking lot because I wanted to get vitamins using the rewards points. I was actually coming from VA Medical Center to Kroger's. The rodeo traffic sent me here. Anyways, the staff was much friendlier than in Chinatown and Spring Branch. The shelves were well stocked. Customers were well behaved and few came with bandage on their arms like blood drawn. What a familiar scene to this area. Besides lots of merchandise are in orange color, I actually like this Walgreens. Believe me, I'll purposely drive into this parking lot more often. Not sure why the rating is so low at this place. I go here every time I come to visit. The staff is always super helpful and friendly. They have what I need and they're open all the time. Again the staff is always helpful and friendly which is not always the case at other places. This place seems to have pretty low ratings, but I haven't had many issues here. Of course, it's a Walgreens, so the prices are a little higher than I would like. For example, I feel like you can go to the nearby Kroger or Target and find the same products for a bit cheaper. In my experience, the store cashiers as well as the pharmacy cashiers both do a fine job - I've never really had any issues with rudeness. I will say that I got some passport photos taken at the photo department once and the guy who was running it was kind of incompetent - he took forever, messed up the photos, and just seemed new to the position. Anyway, I will likely be back here because it's convenient, but I can't recommend Walgreens too highly because of the somewhat high prices :) read more

Scheduled a flu shot at this location for 11:30am. Arrived on time. The website tell you to print out a form so you don't have to wait and you have everything filled out ahead of time. I get there and the lady at the express pick up station says "We can't use this form because the one we use have the bar at the top so that we can scan" ok I had to fill out form again. Now remind you I been standing this station since 11:30a. This is the slowest location I have ever took a flu shot. My last place was KROGER and I only waited 10 min if that. So take this as a warning I'm not sure if it's just this location or Walgreens period. Never again for me I'll be going back to Kroger or Doctor for flu shot next year. read more

The pharmacy techs and pharmacist at this location are absolutely terrible. I called to check on a prescription and she rudely told me it would take an hour and a half. Before i got to ask another question, she hung up the phone in my face. I get to the drive thru and the tech at the window was even ruder and seemed uninterested. Save yourself some time and headache and go to the CVS on the next block. My prescription was ready in less than 15 minutes and the customer service was better. read more

It was crunch time. I was on my way to a family party and needed some gift boxes desperately. It was all the way in Katy and I was already running late. I wanted a place where I didn't have to fight for parking and be able to run in and grab what I needed. It sure did help this place was only minutes away from my house. The pharmacy department is the worst. I was unable to pick up my prescriptions because the pharmacy was super hectic before hurricane harvey hit, which I totally understand. I waited a couple of weeks before trying again. I tried to go in person but the pharmacy had shorter hours than normal so I called when they were open. After patiently waiting 10 minutes on hold, the pharmacy technician informed me that they had put my prescriptions back and could not refill them again because they were too busy. He told me to call back or call another walgreens and HUNG UP ON ME before I could even ask a question. I could not believe how rude he was and the complete lack of customer service. Being stressed out is not an excuse to treat customers like crap. read more

WOW is all I can say about this location. I recently came in and was at the photo center waiting for help. Not 1 not 2 but three employees walk right past me. On even in a grey vest. What really set me back was the lady in the grey vest asked if I had been helped I replied no ma'am she then came over and I thought she was going to help me and she says "if you press this button you won't be waiting anymore" she proceeds to press the button for me and walks away with the other employee. Nothing snaps you out of a Sunday stupor faster than a Walgreens employee who literally yells at you because you didn't hear her the first time she asked if you needed assistance. This is the same employee who zealously grabbed my keys with my Walgreens frequent shopper tag once, scanned it and proceeded to dump my keys in my shopping bag. These incidents are nothing personal, if you catch my drift. Generally speaking, many of the workers here rank amongst the most polite, friendly and helpful I've seen at a Walgreens. The seasonal candy selection is solid. Nothing to text friends about as often as at the CVS across the street but this text was sent onsite to a few folks recently; "OMG RED VELVET RUSSELL STOVER PUMPKINS." Tee hee. So it's legit. Prescriptions come out on time and there are surprisingly large microbrew and nail polish selections as well. In other words, Walgreens takes care of me as a whole person. This store currently is without managers. Per the cashier there is no manager over the store or the pharmacy; and it shows in their delivery of service, customer service and lack of efficiency. My doctor called in a prescription 2 days ago and again on today. I finally received a call saying my meds were ready (2 days later). Upon arrival I was told that my meds are not ready. The pharmacy customer service sucks. They don't fill prescriptions that's dr calls in. They don't notify the dr office when a prior authorization is needed. I've had to call them to get it going. They keep you on hold for at least 20 min if not longer. And the auto fill program is a SCAM. They don't fill those prescriptions when they are do and want want to charge you twice and run your insurance twice. Apparently the management sucks too cause they let the staff do whatever they want and have no concern for customer service. I see what Walgreens standards are and they are beyond low. read more

This was my final straw with Walgreens. Placed an order for curbside. Received notification that it was ready. Planned my day and traveled to retrieve my order. I first panicked when I received notification that my order was picked up while I was en route to get my order. Got there and retrieved my order and was getting ready to leave but something said check it to make sure it was correct. I'm glad I did because only 1 of the 4 items I ordered actually made it in the bag I waited an additional 10-15 minutes for them to assume the items were out of stock and the employee coded it wrong. Waited an additional 10 minutes for them to check in the store. I opted for a refund of all items simply because I was using mobile coupons/sales and having only 1 item shifted my total spent and defeated the purpose of completing my purchase. Now as far as the cashier that assisted me; she could improve with her communication. When processing my refund she began to swipe a store gift card without explaining what she was doing so I questioned why am I receiving a store credit. Once she explained that it was for the $2 Walgreens cash (whatever it's called) that I applied to my order and the remaining balance will go back to my card I understood.m; but she should've communicated that prior to swiping. But whatever. This is the 2nd day in a row at a different Walgreens and I'm STILL no satisfied enough to continue to shop here. read more

For a big branch with a drive up window right next to the Medical Center, the pharmacy hours that this place has are pretty disappointing. The pharmacy is open 9 AM to 9 PM on weekdays, but closes at 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday and is closed altogether on many holidays. read more

Being in Houston for medical treatment we have been here several times. Friendly staff! Prompt service. Scripts filled with lightening speed. I was able to locate all our pharmacy needs in one stop. Wasn't crazy about kids in the parking lot asking for money, for a local football league, without an adult. Probably a scam, but they looked like they needed the $5. The workers are great, but management, or whoever decides how many people work at the pharmacy at once, is incompetent for not recognizing there needs to be more employees here. I have lived across the parking lot from this walgreens for three years. So, it reasons that I would choose to have my prescriptions filled here out of convenience. Over the last six months, this pharmacy has been the antithesis of 'convenient' for me. On back to back occasions over the course of several months, I've received a text message alert that my monthly prescription was filled and ready for pick-up. On both occasions, I have arrived at the pick-up counter only to find out that it wasn't ready and would "be about ten minutes." On the first occurence, I was actually on my way to the airport for an international flight, and had no time to wait. Therefore, I had to go a week without my medicine. The second occurence was this past week when I again received a text message stating my Rx was ready to pick up. Again, I arrived and was told "it'll be ten minutes." I continued with my errands about town and arrived 2.5 hours later only to be told that it still wasn't ready. I'm unsure if this pharmacy has fallen under new management as these problems are new as of the past several months. Needless to say, I'm thankful to be moving out of town so that I no longer have to experience this monthly frustration. read more
