I don't frequent convenience store much, but this one seemed odd in comparison. The employee waited on me right away even though there seemed to be an in depth lottery transaction occurring. I was walking out thinking a no brainer 3 stars. But guess what, a dead mousse right in front of the exit door. Now this may be prejudiced on my part, but had that been a live mousse that scurried away, I'd think no harm no foul. But it left a poor impression that is my main memory of this place that I'll likely never visit again.

I started off getting gas which was decently quick and painless despite the extremely high temperature outside. Then I headed into the Wawa store to place my sandwich order and take a look through the aisles. This location had well stocked grab-and-go hot items like pretzels, mozzarella sticks and burritos, which I saw get restocked as I was waiting on my sandwich order. They even have essentials here like a travel toothbrush (which was great since I had forgotten mine on this particular road trip). Overall the sandwiches were well made, though I did receive banana peppers on this sandwich instead of the hot peppers I had ordered. Food came out decently fast though which I appreciated!

They have everything you'd expect from a 7-11: Big Gulps, Big Bites, Slurpees, nachos, donuts, heat-your-own burritos, NJ Lottery tickets and of course, coffee. They even carry proprane and do Blue Rhino exchanges! The staff is generally very friendly and get to know their regulars. The owner is on site frequently, and shows pride in his store. One morning, a new cashier overcharged me by 15 cents for some cough drops. It really couldn't have been any smaller of an issue, but two days later when I stopped back in he insisted on giving me my coffee for free, "for my trouble." Despite my objection, he insisted. Can't argue with good customer service. The Wawa across the street closed down about a year ago now, and this little 7-11 makes me not miss them a bit.

They even have Nathan's Hot Dogs in the house. As gas stations go, Mercerville Exxon seems to understand what customers want. Fast service. Easy interactions. Good prices. Monster drinks. They score well in all departments.

They offer the same sandwiches, drinks and snacks found in the others, but at a slightly lower price. The owner, Al, works the counter and offers warm greeting to everyone walking in the door. He can also be found behind the deli counter slicing meat and cheese and throwing something together for a customer. It also does a brisk lottery business. My coffee was fresh and hot. The large cost a buck fifty. Al's smile was free.
