The clerk, Pat Kirlin, proactively offered to help me find. No luck out of stock. I left and sat on nearby bench searching through Google, hoping to find online. Walking in is a step back in time, but where it matters - customer/medicine accountability - it is completely up to date. Mort wears the long white coat from 1960, signifying his deep roots in patient care and his long distance perspective on the evolution of drugs and illness. The generations of families that have relied on that knowledge testify to the commitment made by the owners since its founding. True, Bear is not a contemporary super-pharmacy, but, isn't that a good thing? I really don't care if I can buy snacks, drinks or books when I need a prescription filled for my kid. Professional AND personal service is the best in the area. Why go to a huge impersonal corporate pharmacy when you get basically the same pricing, but also first class professional Pharmacist who knows you, knows what drugs you've had problems or success with, and just generally meets you on a person-to-person, and actually listens to you? Bear Pharmacy has gone out of their way to help me on several occasions. I know they carefully check for incompatible drugs. They have called pharmacies in cities where I travel, when I have run out. They have provided necessary meds when I have run out while my Doc was on vacation. One extremely high-priced drug not covered by my insurance, I requested a discount, and they provided me the drug at a price lower than any pharmacy around, including Costco and other Dis counters. I doubt very much they made any money on that. The folks at Bear Drug trust me and I trust them. They are a small operation in Lambertville, but service is quick, and highly professional. They have all the electronic technology for receiving electronic prescriptions from Docs. On two occasions they have actually stayed open after hours when I called in to tell them I was running late. I have suffered a long chronic illness which is finally clearing up. Even in the darkest days I felt I was in good hands with the folks at Bear Pharmacy. And this really buoyed me up during hard times. read more

This is a 5 star PHARMACY. If you want a pharmacy with a pharmacist who knows medicine, knows his customer and will be there when you need him this is 5 star. If you want to buy toys, groceries and hardware this is not the place to go (Although they has some of that too), as someone else said "the basics". This, however, is a pharmacy where you will have the same two pharmacists, Rich or Mort, who know you, your health and your meds. You can get the Sunday Times and a good assortment of other papers daily. I have been going there for twenty + years and our community is lucky to have them. If your traveling through and need some souvenirs there's some of that too. read more

This is a home-town drug store. You get to know the pharmacists and they get to know you. That comes in handy. It's the kind of place where the bell on the door rings when you walk in. They don't carry groceries or small appliances, but they take time to make sure your medical needs get taken care of. read more

This is a treasure of Americana, hometown care and excellence the corporate drug stores can't possibly provide. The pharmacists are as up-to-date, thoroughly educated and professional as anywhere in the US. They will know your name, your medical needs and give sensitive attention to detail. If you need your spirit healed, take a whiff of the subtly fragrant air, peruse the neatly-lined shelves, feel the simplicity, the wholesomeness...and imagine yourself in a Norman Rockwell painting.
