i used the cvs pharmacy on bennetts mills my whole life cause that's what my family used, and when…read morecvs stopped taking my insurance about half a year ago and i saw the sign on my way to a doctors appointment in the hackensack building saying the pharmacy is welcoming cvs pharmacy patients due to the insurance, that's when i switched to hackensack pharmacy; lets just say thank GOD i did lol i didn't even know there was a pharmacy in this building or that it took my insurance, so finding this out is probably one of the best things that's happened to me cause this place is great; not to mention it's within walking distance! the pharmacists here actually seem like they care and want to help you, and even better; they're actually competent at their jobs! after being at that cvs pharmacy for so long, i just thought all pharmacies were that bad, so switching to here has been great. i was worried at first about there not being an app for the pharmacy but the text notifications work just fine there almost never being a line of more than one person when i'm in here compared to in cvs where the lines were frequently more than 4 people every time i went not even counting the people in the drive through; amazing. being able to wait in the lobby where the bagel place is or walk over to dollar tree while i wait for the prescription to be ready is so convenient, and the wait time is so much faster than cvs too, sometimes at cvs id have to come back the next day and i've never had to do that here i like that the pharmacy is also like a mini shop with a bunch of not just medical/pharmaceutical stuff you can buy, but candy and snacks too; the prices are kinda inflated for most items though unfortunately so i don't see why i'd buy stuff here unless i needed something specific i like going in here (also i love the small blue pill bottles they use)

It was open to seniors from Mercer county but near the end younger folks were included. When I found out about it I offered to take my uncle here. He jumped(figuratively) at the chance. We arrived around 3:00 and found only about 5 people ahead of us. A pharmacist and an assistant were the only staff here, but the assistant was amazing. This young lady did all of the paperwork and made sure info and cards were accurate. This was no easy feat as each person there were operating at senior speed(no offense) and missing certain documents. She helped the process flow and you eventually made your way to the pharmacist who was administering the shots. Regardless of your first vaccine, you were able to select any of the 3 approved vaxs for a boost. This in itself was time consuming for a few of the recipients, but the pharmacist patiently explained the options to each. He also prescribed plenty of fluids to begin immediately to cut down any side affects. Both of these workers seemed to really care about what they were doing! I don't have a need for prescription drugs, but I'm sure going to try to find a reason to bring some business to this pharmacy.

The head pharmacist is a really nice guy who will go out of his way to get you the meds you need and will work with your doctor and insurance in a timely manner. He knows his stuff and will answer any questions you have. They carefully check your meds, even putting little notes and reminders on your prescription bags in case they need to counsel you on some meds before they hand it over to you. That extra care just really ranks them high in my book. Reliable, timely, and overall GREAT "good neighbor pharmacy!"

Unfortunately, many of us don't know anything different than the subpar (to be diplomatic) experience that the major chain pharmacies afford their captive customers. However there is an alternative out there: you just might have to do a little paperwork on your first visit; and you may not be "covered" if your employer-sponsored drug plan is through the CVS-owned Caremark monopoly. Boyd's is a breath of fresh air! Let's see: -The phones are answered promptly and politely by knowledgeable and friendly staff. -The wait times to pick up scripts are never very long (and often non-existent). -If your medicine is out of stock, they'll actually order it for you, and it'll arrive in stock in a day or two. Unlike the big chains, this isn't made out to be some sort of Herculean inconvenience by the staff. You don't have to get district managers involved to simply get the medicine that your healthcare provider thinks is best for you. -transferring scripts here wasn't too difficult, I remember filling out a little paperwork but nothing crazy. -They have a mobile app if you prefer to order refills electronically rather than talk to a human. -Before we had COVID vaccines, Boyd's also had quick call-ahead curbside service. I'd be willing to bet they'd still do it if asked. I believe they deliver as well. -While they aren't in the GoodRx discount program, they will do their best to match their prices. An added bonus for many is that the store doubles as a purveyor of beer, wine and spirits. You will need to go to a separate register for these, but the selection is decent. Many NJ wines and a better craft beer selection than the other package stores I've been to in the immediate bordentown city/fieldsboro area. Their "good neighbor" branded over the counter products are just fine and not everything is horribly priced. Certainly no worse than CVS. If none of the above convinces you to check out Boyd's, here's one more: no 3-foot long receipts with coupons for random crap you aren't buying anyway.
