Avoid this place at all costs. The Pharmacy is ridiculous! I can count on one hand the number of times i could pick up my meds in one visit. Am i grumpy, hell yes! A severe heart attack does that to you. Cardiologist calls in prescriptions and tells me to start taking these immediately, two days later i am still waiting for the Pharmacy to fill them! Walgreens cant decide if they want to be a drug store, a 7 to 11, or a dollar store. They are extremely lousy at any of these! read more

We waited in line for 30 minutes only to be asked if we had new insurance because they couldn't see that we had the same medication filled last month...then told we'd have to still wait for them to fill the prescription that was called in 10 days ago. Let me add to the one star reviews for this location. The pharmacy has a half-hour in the middle of the day so the employees can have lunch. If you call the pharmacy at anytime within a half hour of their break, they will put you on hold, then you hear the phone ring and someone pick up, and then they will put you back on hold. They will repeat this process every couple of minutes until you hang up or they go on break and hang up on you. Great customer service, huh? Another time, we went there to get a prescription filled--one that was called in the previous day--and we were told that they needed "another 20 minutes". My husband went to pick up his prescription and the 1st girl couldn't find his prescription second girl no help. Pharmacist was running around like he was frantic. Greetings,I seem to be doing what others have done and having an issue with this pharmacy/pharmacist.I travel for work and pleasure to California amend Hawaii. Part of the Walgreens chic is the ability to manage your prescriptions and receive your meds as needed. This week I returned to Arizona to work and asked to renew my medication, I asked one of the pharmacy technicians to review my prescription and was told everything was correct.Later I returned and mentioned that I have had some adverse problems when traveling and renewing medication.Once again I was advised by staffing this was correct and to return after lunch and your meds will be ready. I returned the following day only to e told the pharmacist will not release this medication without speaking to the doctor. Thanks.as you may have wondered this is a controlled medication and without it I don't sleep. Year's of shift work I guess. I have been under treatment for 15 years at the Mayo Clinic not the local urgent care. I'm writing this before I even left the parking lot. The customer service at this Walgreens is OUTSTANDING. I would give a higher rating if possible. When I walked in the cashier said "hello, welcome to Walgreens, sir." It might be store policy for them to say that but most don't. I got a couple Starbucks Frappuccino's and she put them in separate paper bags before putting them in the bag with the other items so they didn't clink or break. FANTASTIC EXTRA THOUGHT, EFFORT. THE 24 hour Covid test here WILL work for Hawaii at this Gold Canyon location. Make sure that you get the rapid 24 hour NAAT test, nothing else! Ours came back on a Friday within a couple hours, but don't rely on that just in case. Make sure you plan the full 24 hours the pharmacy is allowed before you get on your flight in case it comes back undetermined! Hawaii will, 100%, send you back on the next flight home and will not let you in if your test is not correct. Most people don't know this, but if all else fails, you can get a $200 rapid test at the airport that also meets Hawaii's NAAT requirement. No matter where you go, ensure that the test being given is rapid and it is the NAAT test and nothing else! Definitely don't cancel your plans because the airport option is there and you can just walk in if needed! The test results are guaranteed to come back within two hours at the airport. My only reason for taking away a star is because both pharmacist had no idea what test lab was being performed at this location. I called SEVEN other Walgreens pharmacists to work around and confirm that this location would be correct. The Walgreens in Flagstaff is hands-down the most knowledgeable pharmacist when it comes to the Hawaii requirements. She helped me do the research to figure out that this specific Gold Canyon location was correct and it was. I also didn't care for the female pharmacist at this location, as she was extremely short and unprofessional with me and even hung up the two times I talk to her while I was thinking her for her time. I don't really care for that kind of customer service. You're never supposed to hang up on a customer, let alone twice because you're irritated with whatever is happening in your own world. It made it very frustrating when I was trying to not dump thousands of dollars down the drain planning my vacation. read more

Absolutely the worst store, employees and management I have ever encountered. The shift leader, Nathaniel, was extremely unprofessional when dealing with a complaint and the cashier, Yolanda,(she covered her name tag, but she is an elderly woman with skin tags under her eyes. Yoni? Lani, maybe?), she actually tried to assault my husband when checking out. (Police report was made and charges are being pressed.) Here is the back story... We tried to purchase 2 bottles of rubbing alcohol for medical reasons while on vacation. There was a sign that said "Only 1 per person." Well, my husband and I were together and are 2 persons so we followed the sign rules and brought the 2 bottles to the cashier to purchase. The elderly lady laughed and took one of the bottles away and said she couldn't sell 2. When asked why, she wouldn't give a reason and just laughed at us. We were super confused and thought maybe she was mentally challenged and just let it go. My husband later returned to purchase the second needed bottle since the first bottle and transaction was mine. (Remember the sign said 1 PER PERSON.) That is where the situation turned from weird to BAD. He was denied the rubbing alcohol and when the cashier saw his military related shirt, she proceeded to degrade him and told him what a horrible person he was for enlisting. He asked to simply purchase the isopropyl alcohol and be on his way and she still refused. When my husband offered his card to pay, the lady slapped it out of his hand and tried to knock his phone out of his hand as well. All because we needed rubbing alcohol for legitimate medical reasons? We couldn't bring bottles from home on our flight and never dreamed obtaining some would be so catastrophic. We left the store, called the police to report the assault and then corporate to give employee names and we now are in the midst of pushing this to the fullest extent. It would be one thing if the sign said one per person, per transaction, per visit but it didn't. We genuinely needed the product and since we are on vacation in a rural area, this was our only shopping option. MORAL OF THE STORY: IF YOU CAN AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE, SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND STAY FAR, FAR AWAY. read more

Whoever is working the register today 4/9/21 @ 5pm (older blonde woman) was extremely rude. I was .80 cents short on my order and offered to get in the back of the line after I run and get it. She said she couldn't cancel the order "so hurry up" in a very rude tone. A retail store that can't void a transaction? I doubt it. Also, she needs to have a better attitude. This Walgreens is the worst I've ever had this misfortune of using. My husband and I have been coming to Gold Canyon for a month or two every year for 8 years. At first they were pretty good at the pharmacy but over the years they've been messing up. We use Walgreens because it's suppose to be easier to transfer prescriptions from one to another. But they've manage to mess that up. On a few of the prescriptions we hadn't met our deductible and the cost was 450 dollars and more. They ask us if we still wanted it because we would have to pay the cost out of pocket. Like duh! Like we don't know how our insurance works. Good news is that we our selling our winter home and never have to use them again! I would give minus stars but that isn't allowed! read more

Lisa in the photo department was BEYOND rude. I placed an order for a metal sign to be developed at 10 am. The website advertised that it would be ready in one hour. Having worked in retail, I understand that not all demands can always be met in that time frame. 3pm rolls around, so I call the store and politely ask if my photo order was completed, as my online status had not changed for the last 5 hours. She (Lisa) immediately replies with "Well they're usually done in an hour". I attempted to explain that I understood that, but that it had been much longer, but she interrupted me and asked for my name. I told her what she needed, and she placed me on hold. About five minutes passed and she picked the phone back up and asked "What's your name?". I told her once more. Placed back on hold. Finally, she picks back up and explains to me that the sign just came off of the printer, and needed to dry. I asked how long that would be, so that I may finally come get the item, and she tells me "30 Minutes". I say "Thank You", and she says nothing, then hangs up on me. Meanwhile, around 1:30, (keep in mind that it is now around 4pm) my mom had placed an order for a photo book, which again advertised a one hour pick up time window. I figured that plenty of time had passed for that (should have known better), so I would just pick it up along with my sign. Finally, I arrive and there is no one at the photo counter, so I press the button and wait an additional 5-10 minutes. Finally, Lisa, the same rude person who "helped" me on the phone comes to the counter, and is less than pleasant. She hands me my sign, not even opening it for me so that I may check the quality (another mistake on my end for not opening it myself right then and there) and says nothing. I politely as for the item my mom ordered, and she checks, then informs me that it is not ready yet. At this point I am in absolute disbelief, and my patience is running out. I brought up that fact that SHE HAD TOLD ME on the phone the items usually only take an hour, and she replied with an attitude saying "Yes, an hour, plus the time it takes to dry and put together". I asked her how long it would be again until THIS was ready and she replies "30-40 minutes". Well I wasn't about to stand around Walgreens and wait nearly an hour, so I left to go home. Around 5:30 I decided I would go back to pick up the item and I had hoped by this time Lisa would have been gone. Of course, I am wrong again. I walk up to the photo counter, press the button and wait for her to come out to assist me. She finally does, pulls my item, and as I am waiting to pay with my card in my hand, she SLIDES THE PHOTO BOOK ACROSS THE TABLE, TURNS AROUND AND LEAVES. I could not believe the audacity of this woman and her AWFUL, MISLEADING customer service. I am not one to write bad reviews, ever. As like I said, I have worked in retail and know how hard it can be at times. But there is a limit to my patience, and I am beyond upset about this. To top it all off, the metal sign that I paid for and ordered as a Christmas present was given to me with scratches. Clean store. Recently renovated and has new floors, lighting and cosmetics area. The staff is always nice, except for the pharmacists. The prices are outrageous just like every Walgreens but they have just about everything you could need when you're in a hurry and don't have time to get to a supercenter. This is a mixed review. I'm giving this branch of Walgreens three stars because their staff is usually very friendly and helpful throughout the store. They also truly do carry the most useful items someone could need, while not wanting to go to a larger store. However, their photo department is unreliable to say the very least. I was developing 35mm film for a friend who needs it for her music promo, so we did have a limited amount of time. I dropped off my first roll on a Tuesday and was told the roll would be done that same Friday. I went in Friday and they hadn't even sent the film to the lab. It didn't end up being ready until the following Thursday, nine business after I dropped it off! My next roll was supposed to be done the next day according to their chart. I went in and again, not ready and no eta given. They also put my first roll of film under my last initial instead of the full name so they had trouble finding it. The most frustrating part of all of this is that no matter what time of day you come in, it seems like there is never a photo employee working, so no one knows what's going on and has no suggestion to rectify the situation. After I pick up my last roll that I'm waiting for, I'm never using Walgreens again for photos. read more

We've been using this location since we moved here in 2003 and it's been fab. Their customer service is amazing. I recently had trouble getting a prescription covered and Kelsey in the pharmacy went above and beyond to handle my issue, working with my insurance company and their tech people. I can't describe how grateful I was.I've read complaints here about hours (they aren't open 24 hours) but seriously! This is a rural area. If you want 24-hour service, drive 10 minutes from here and you'll find it. read more

Kudos to the pharmacy staff. They were all very helpful, kind and efficient. I went in on a Sunday seeking medical advice for bad cough, fever and congestion. The Pharmacist took the time to get me steered to the help that I needed. I returned shortly with a prescription from Urgent Care and they got it filled quickly.
